Barbara Nichols

Jupiter, FL experience: I’ve been with The Fresh Market for 10 years, and before that I owned my own gift shop. what sets the fresh market apart: We have the best flowers around! But more than that, it’s the customer service. I’m always talking to everyone and trying to know everyone’s name. I love what I do, and people know it—and that makes it even more inviting for them. mother’s day advice: Peonies are every woman’s favorite flower. They’re just beautiful. Also, I like to make arrangements in cute mugs or special vases—so you get two gifts in one.

Rogers, AR experience: I’ve been with The Fresh Market since August 2022, and I have 20 years of experience in the floral industry. what sets the fresh market apart: The Floral Department is the first thing you see when you walk in the door. It’s so much color—it just pops as you walk in. And who doesn’t like to be greeted with roses? mother’s day advice: You can’t go wrong with potted plants— hydrangeas, begonias, anything you can plant outside. Bulb plants are a favorite, too. After they bloom indoors, you can plant them outside and they’ll be back again next spring.

Kathy Serio

Baltimore, MD experience: I’ve been a floral designer for more than 40 years and I’ve been with The Fresh Market for four years. what sets the fresh market apart: I think it’s the quality and selection of our flowers, especially our hydrangeas, lilies, calla lilies and our beautiful orchids. mother’s day advice: When creating a bouquet, remember that there are filler flowers and focal flowers. You can’t go wrong with a little bit of each, but for me, having that focal flower—like a lily, a hydrangea or a calla lily— will really make your bouquet stand out.
