MISSION

The Gateway School is a K-8, independent day school that transforms the lives of bright students with language-based learning disabilities and attention deficits. At Gateway, our students become skilled, strategic learners and confident selfadvocates. Relying on direct, multisensory instruction and guided by an integrated curriculum, expert faculty teach students the language, literacy, and critical thinking skills that are the foundations for success in mainstream educational settings and beyond. Gateway believes a close relationship between the school and parents provides essential support as students grow and seek to realize their potential. In small classes and as members of a diverse and inclusive community, Gateway students experience academic and social success, recognize their strengths, and are empowered to become independent learners.

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, & BELONGING

I told my son I was proud of him for participating in class. He got a huge smile on his face and ran over to hug me saying, "I told you I just needed a new school."

This evening as his brother was lamenting that the weekend was coming to an end and that he didn't want to go to school tomorrow because school stinks, my son responded, "School is great!!"

Thank you, Gateway.

OUTCOMES

PLACEMENT

Gateway prepares students to transition to mainstream and other school settings when they can do so successfully. The goal of the placement process is to find the right match for every student and to support families throughout the entire outplacement process.

GRADUATING CLASS

Our graduating classes are carefully stewarded by The Admissions and Placement Office to ensure our families and students seamlessly arrive at their next school feeling supported and prepared for their next chapter.

ALUMNI

Gateway students are known for their work ethic, skill in self-advocacy, and the very positive contributions they make to the school communities they join. In an annual panel discussion known as Life After Gateway, selected graduates discuss their experience at Gateway and how it prepared them for success in their continued education and beyond. Our remarkable academic experience continues in extraordinary schools including Ivy League Universities. Our alumni professions include careers in the arts, science, politics, healthcare, athletics, journalism, and in exciting new endeavors such as robotics and social entrepreneurship.
