Aboard their 65-foot sailboat, campers collect data to document whale distribution, feeding and behavioral patterns. Hands-on experience using onboard marine biology equipment helps unveil the powerful and endangered processes of life in the sea. Campers explore beaches, coastal trails and fishing villages and investigate life in the tidal pools and bogs. Whale Camp takes students out to sea three days each week to directly encounter the whales and other marine life for an amazing marine science experience. Whale Camp is a place where inspiration, exploration and discovery abound.

Summer at Sandy Spring
J
oin us for a summer adventure! Summer at Sandy Spring creates the biggest and best summer experiences for kids of all ages, from Pre-K all the way through 12th Grade. We’re ACA-accredited and we’ve been at it for 20 years. Along the way, we’ve learned a few things: • Kids prefer swimming ponds to video games. • A side portion of academic enrichment helps them keep their minds in shape for September. • They’d rather learn and run and laugh than do almost anything else.

We build on that free spirit and creative energy, and that’s why kids love Summer at Sandy Spring. Campers splash and play in our

swimming pond, experiment in art and performances, learn teamwork while rock climbing, and change communities through service projects. Summer at Sandy Spring is fun for kids and gives parents peace of mind. With our low camper to counselor ratio, kids get the encouragement and attention they deserve. Since we offer flexible scheduling and costs, finding a program that suits your needs is easy. All of our programs promote teamwork, friendship, and most importantly, fun in a safe environment. Summer at Sandy Spring takes place on the 140-acre wooded campus of the Sandy Spring Friends School (SSFS), a Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade college preparatory day school in the heart of Montgomery County. Using our own buses, we provide daily transportation to and from a variety of DC and Baltimore metro area locations. We also provide the option of before- and after-camp care starting as early as 7:30 am and extending until 6:oo pm. Our programs are designed to accommodate flexible schedules, create stimulating experiences, and offer tons of fun. With a balance of engaging academic enrichment lessons and exciting, recreational activities, Summer at Sandy Spring gives campers a high-energy summer filled with friendship, learning, and adventure. To register or learn more, visit us at www.ssfs.org/summercamp.
