Ground Floor Centre for Advanced Textiles Demonstrations and Sample Sale
Join the Centre for Advanced Textiles (CAT) team for a technical demonstration and sample sale. Digital textile printing technology allows designs and images to be printed straight from the computer screen onto fabric. CAT are a specialist team based at The GSA specialising in digital textile print. Their clients include students, commercial businesses, and the public, and they produce fabrics for fashion, interior furnishing through to wall hangings and artworks.
Drop in to their studio throughout the day to meet the staff and see the printing process in action. Fabric samples will also be on sale.

Programme Talk: Postgraduate Study in Sound and Visualisation
Join us in the Reid Building for a session exploring our specialist programmes for postgraduate study options in the School of Simulation & Visualisation. Postgraduate programmes include Sound for Moving Image; Heritage Visualisation; Medical Visualisation & Human Anatomy; and Serious Games & Virtual Reality.
This talk will give you an insight into the different programmes offered in the school, examples of student projects, and will look at graduate destinations beyond study. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask staff any questions you have about the courses.
Staff from the School of Simulation and Visualisation will be in the Reid Marketplace throughout the day.

Studio Tours: School of Design
Join our Student Ambassador team for a tour of the Reid Building, the main teaching building for all postgraduate courses based in the School of Design. The tour will include all workshops and studio spaces relevant to our Postgraduate courses including Fashion and Textiles; Communication Design; Interior Design; and Product Design Engineering.
You will have the opportunity to speak directly to programme staff and students in studio and view student's work. Please note that Interior Design staff will only be available for the 10.30 - 12.30 tour.
Tours depart from the Reid Reception in the Foyer.

Lecture theatre Ground floor Talk: Introduction to Stage 4 Architecture
This talk will explore what you can expect from the diploma course at the Mackintosh School of Architecture (MSA). It will consider the value of studying architecture in an Art School context and give you an insight into how MSA approach teaching future architects in the Anthropocene. Alongside this there will be contributions from teaching staff on the importance of history, theory and technology, as well as making and drawing in architectural education.

The Hub Studio Tour Simulation and Visualisation at the Hub in Pacific Quay
Following the talk at the Reid Building, transport will be available to take you to the SimVis studios at The Hub at Pacific Quay. Transport will depart from the Reid Building in Garnethill at 12.15pm.
At the Hub there will be sessions including a welcome talk from Dr Daniel Livingstone at 12.30pm followed by a tour of the facilities and practical demonstrations of the specialist equipment and lab space which students in the School utilise for postgraduate study.
Transport will be arranged to take you the main campus following the tours and demonstrations.

The tours will start at the entrance to Margaret Macdonald House in Garnethill and together you will walk through Garnethill to Blythswood House Halls, finishing with a visit to a student flat and a question-and-answer session with our Accommodation Team.
