Our staff at ‘SimVis’ will demonstrate a range of Virtual Reality, Games, Film and Audio work from graduates on the BSc Immersive Systems Design and BDes Sound for the Moving Image undergraduate programmes. The work covers a wide array of disciplines, ranging from games development, serious games, sonic art, digital heritage visualisation, augmented and virtual reality, sound design and film.

Expanding Traditions Hock-Aun Teh

Join Katie Reid from GSA Exhibitions for a tour of current public exhibition ‘Expanding Traditions’ by Hock Aun Teh in the Reid Gallery, and the opportunities for students and staff to work with and alongside the GSA’s professional Exhibitions department. Hock Aun Teh (郑傅安) (b. Malaysia), was the first graduate of The Glasgow School of Art’s Drawing and Painting Department from Asia, (studying 1970-1974). Teh was born to Chinese parents and grew up in Sungei Gedong, a remote village in Malaysia. He did not know where Glasgow was, originally thinking it was in Russia, until he applied for a visa. His works are in collections including GOMA and The National Art Gallery of Malaysia.

Digital textile printing technology allows designs and images to be printed straight from the computer screen onto fabric. CAT are able to print onto silks, cottons, linens and blends of those fabrics and can print anything from a 10cm length up to hundreds of metres. CAT’s clients include students, commercial businesses and the general public who are producing anything from fabrics for fashion right through to wall hangs and artworks and interior products.
