First Steps is the second book in the Growing Young Disciples series, written by Australian pastor Tim Hawkins. Designed for junior and middle high-schoolers, First Steps guides readers through the ins and outs of establishing healthy habits as they begin a faithful journey with Jesus. These five interactive Bible studies allow for reading, prayer and fellowship—and help teens build a strong foundation for life. Each study takes about 30 minutes, making them ideal for youth groups, lunchtime studies and camps.
ABOUT The Author Tim Hawkins is one of the most experienced Christian youth pastors in Australia. He’s been a full-time youth pastor in a local church for around 35 years; the last two decades affiliated with St Paul’s Anglican Church, Castle Hill, in north-west Sydney. Tim’s passion is to see high-schoolers become fervent disciples of Jesus and to take their place as active players on Jesus’ ministry team. Tim and his wife Karen have been married for more than 30 years, and are proud parents of Carly and Joshua.

A group of Christians is described in the Bible as being like a single body. Every Christian there is part of that body. Every Christian is needed to make the body work properly. You can’t just be a Christian by yourself. You need other Christians to help you, and they need you to help them.
