New ADA Pathway
Blake garden built an (Americans with Disability Act) ADA accessible path connecting the event lawn to a new handicap bathroom in the education center to expand opportunities for environmental education and direct experiences with nature. The new path is suspended four feet off the ground and will also serve as a lookout to Cerrito Creek and the San Francisco Bay. Since, path construction displaced a native California plant community, there is a high likelihood that invasive species could overrun this area. UC Berkeley landscape design students designed and planted a native drought tolerant plants around the ADA path and viewshed.
