In our business, great performance means delivering on our promises — every time. It means being there for our partner agents and their customers when they need us most. That’s something we have been doing for more than 160 years. We partner with the very best independent agents to provide their customers with the security, protection and peace of mind that comes with quality insurance coverage — for business, home, and auto. 4th Annual Adopt-A-School Program
As we seek innovative ways to fulfill our mission of fostering a love and appreciation for the performing arts in audiences of today and tomorrow, Kinky Boots presented the perfect opportunity for us to collaborate with school administrators and teachers on a curriculum-based arts integration program. Over a period of several weeks, all South High students participated in lessons within each subject that incorporated Kinky Boots’ themes, historical and sociological elements, artistic aspects and musical score. Around the lobby, you will notice several displays featuring students work related to this project including poetry, essays and art installations.

The Hanover Theatre partnered with the national tour of Kinky Boots and South High Community School for our 4th Annual Adopt-A-School Program. South High, located in downtown Worcester has a student population of 1200 individuals from 70 different countries, many of whom experience live theatre for the very first time through this initiative.
Ballet Arts Worcester’s Jennifer Agbay trained students to perform a musical number from the show earlier this week. Dance captains from the national tour made a visit to the school on Wednesday to offer coaching to the students. During the finale of the student matinee performance, select students will perform this choreography in the aisles. In addition, cast members from the show visited the school, spoke with the students and saw the amazing work happening in classrooms in preparation for the show. To ensure that all students could attend this live production, the Durham Bus Company provided free transportation to and from the student matinee performance this week.

Assistive Listening Devices: Devices are available from the house manager. Please inquire at the box office or ask an usher. These cannot be reserved in advance, but the number of devices available should be sufficient for the usual demand. You will be asked to leave your driver’s license as a deposit when borrowing an assistive listening device. Cameras (Recording Devices): Our standard policy is that all such devices are prohibited from use in the theatre, and offenders may be ejected without compensation. On rare occasions, specific performers or engagements may request that this policy be suspended, in which case we will advise same by covering lobby signage which lists the standard policy. All members of the press or media must receive advance authorization from the PR department (PR@thehanovertheatre.org) to use cameras or recording devices inside the theatre and must display identification of same. Cell Phones: Out of respect to the performers and to fellow audience members, please remember to silence all cell phones while in the theatre. Also please note, there is no telephone which is manned throughout the performance. Please be sure to leave your cellular number with anyone who may need to reach you during an emergency, and in the event of an emergency please take your call in the theatre lobby. Children: All patrons MUST have a valid ticket. Parents are discouraged from bringing children under 5 years of age to performances which are not specifically oriented to children. Parents must remove any disruptive children from the theatre into the lobby. For these reasons, and for the comfort of all audience members, please consider carefully whether it is appropriate for you to bring children under 5 to the theatre. Concessions: Please do not bring outside food and drinks to the theatre. Snacks and beverages will be available for sale in the lobby. Depending on the performance, drinks may be brought into the seating areas, but food is prohibited. Gift certificates cannot be used in online transactions. If used in a continued
THEATRE POLICIES & OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION telephone sale, the gift certificate MUST be mailed to the box office before the tickets purchased will be mailed to the customer. Alternately, tickets can be held at the box office and the gift certificate redeemed in person at any point up to the curtain time of the performance(s) purchased. Inclement Weather Policy: The nature of touring performance schedules is such that it is generally impossible for us to reschedule cancelled performances. Therefore, with very rare exceptions, our policy is that the show will go on regardless of the weather as long as the performers are able to perform. Please make travel plans in accordance with anticipated weather conditions, but please DO NOT endanger yourself. Lost and Found: Management is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Items found at the theatre will be held by the house manager. If you have lost an item, please contact the box office as soon as possible to make a report. Items not claimed within 30 days will be donated or disposed of without compensation. or recording devices, cell phones not silenced or set to vibrate, laser pointers, disruptive or abusive language, pets (except those assisting persons with disabilities), and persons exhibiting intoxication or drug use. Offenders may be removed from the theatre without compensation. Resale of Tickets for Profit: Ticketholders may on occasion be in a position where they have purchased tickets that they later cannot personally use and will want to donate, give, trade or sell these tickets to friends or acquaintances. Management does not discourage private transactions of this nature. However, we may take appropriate actions to thwart the organized resale of tickets for profit by third parties, which we do not condone. The public is advised to be careful purchasing tickets from individuals they do not know personally, as such tickets may be void and in such cases admission to the theatre will be denied without compensation. Standing Room: All persons entering the theatre must have a valid ticket, and are not allowed to stand in the back or aisles. Tax Deductible Donations: As the theatre is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, donations to The Hanover Theatre are tax-deductible to the fullest extent provided by law.
