TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT A round-up of HAI’s training and development in 2020, plus plans for 2021

HAI Training & Development Round-up 2020

2020 started rather traditionally for our training workshops, with over 50 attendees across six different classroom workshops including B2B Sales Management, Stock Control and Merchandising. Since then, we, along with the rest of the country, had to rapidly adjust our operations and how we provide training. To help those who are looking to revitalise their skills and to change/update how they interact with their customers we have made available virtual and online training options for the hardware sector:

Virtual Workshops and Webinars:

We collaborated with a number of trainers and instructors to offer virtual workshops and free webinars for HAI members in the following topics:

Credit Control Tips by Declan Flood, The Credit Coach, from the Irish Credit Management Institute

Digital Marketing Tools and Advice by Niall Devitt from Content Plan

Checklist for Employers During Covid-19 by Tommy Smyth from Tom Smyth & Associates

We collaborated with Peninsula HR and Legal Consultants to deliver a series of free webinars to members in topics including Absence Management, Return to Work and Working through Lockdowns, to business owners and managers in need of support in the wake of a second lockdown.

We also partnered with industry partners from across the water, Costello’s ACE Hardware, one of the biggest hardware retail groups in the USA, who presented a webinar on how they have used their strategies to “Not Just Survive, but Thrive” through Covid-19. We are looking forward to delivering these webinars again in 2021, and are excited to introduce new topics such as:

Sales

Time Management

Performance Management and Team-Building

And more!

Company-Specific Virtual Training:

If your organisation is looking for company-specific training we have a number of instructors available to deliver tailored workshops for your team in topics including Stock Control, Sales, Customer Service, Credit Control, and more!

eLearning – Hardware Education Hub:

As always, the Hardware Education Hub, our e-learning portal, is available to HAI members on www.hardwareeducationhub.ie for access to a suite of modules in topics including:

Social Media Fundamentals – video courses in topics including Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.

IT and Desktop Skills – including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and Cyber Security

Personal Skills – including Assertiveness, Conflict Handling and Negotiating Skills

Commercial Skills – including Telephone Skills, Handling Customer Complaints and Remote Working

We look forward to welcoming back participants to our virtual classroom in 2021.
