THS: What was your most memorable experience?
VHH: Wow…that’s a hard one because I’ve enjoyed and remember just about every interview I’ve done. If I had to pick one though, I would say it was with Norman Brown, the grammy-winning Jazz musician. That interview was so uplifting because he’s a very deep thinker and is very passionate about his craft. I’d met him before when I was one of the producers who put in a proposal to produce a music video for his song, Better Days Ahead. Yes, I would say hands down, that was the most memorable so far.
THS: Do you have any favorite people that you would like to work with?
VHH: No favorites…well, maybe Oprah. LOL.
THS: Any upcoming projects that you would like to share?
VHH: I’m working on a book and a television series that I will share more details on in the very near future. Too early to discuss right now, but it’s coming soon! I also have an amazing interview coming up next month that I should be able to share in a few days, but can’t let the cat out yet. It’s a jaw-dropper though, I promise!
THS: Do you have any publications of your own?
VHH: I’m working on a suspense thriller with my publisher, Brown Girls Books, that should be out early next year. The other two projects are still under wraps.
THS: What do you find most difficult about the television industry?
VHH: It’s not easy breaking into it, but I like that it’s a selective vibe. Folks are finding creative ways to break in through social media, and I think that’s cool too. Creativity is the key and if you are a creative, you will definitely win whether it’s in the big or little pond.
THS: Tell about the upcoming cruise for authors?
VHH: We had to pivot on that project, unfortunately. We weren’t getting very many hits inspite of the wonderful line-up of talent we were able to attract as Masterclass leaders. We’ve decided to go another route that will keep us on land and I’ll be putting something out soon on that front. I think it’s a great idea and I think people will like the proposed alternative. To stay in contact with us on that front, folks should like our page on Facebook (writers and readers escape).
THS: Do you only interview authors on your show?
VHH: We interview writers of every artistic genre.
THS: Are you full time in the broadcasting industry?
VHH: es, but I will be even more engaged in the next few months as I unload some other responsibilities on my plate.
