Diamond P, a dynamic figure in the entertainment industry, is a force to be reckoned with. As a radio personality, artist, actress, author, philanthropist, content creator, and advocate, Diamond P has made a significant impact in various realms. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, specifically on the Westside in Bankhead, Diamond P's journey is one of resilience, determination, and a commitment to making a difference.

Education has played a crucial role in Diamond P's life, as she holds degrees in Master Cosmetology, Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice Social Science, and Medical Billing and Coding. Her thirst for knowledge and personal growth has led her to be affiliated with esteemed organizations such as the National Society of Leadership and Success and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Diamond P's passion for advocacy stems from personal experiences and a deep desire to effect positive change. As an advocate for breast cancer awareness, she has not only raised awareness but has also bravely shared her own journey as she battles Stage 2 Breast Cancer. Through her platform, Diamond P strives to educate, inspire, and support others facing similar challenges.

THS: At what age did you start cooking and realized it could be your career?

VM: At the age 7…when my mother opened the cabinet and said make the family something to eat. Let me put it this way; in my family… we still laugh & talk about how bad someone made a dish 30 years later. So I went with a favorite of mine; Southern Creole Shrimp & Grits…it was a hit! I realized at an early age I would be able do something with this culinary gift, but did I mention I was rebellious kid so I need more of life’s seasoning to fully embrace this God given talent; so I created dishes for friends, family, and local causes only.

How long have you been involved in the music industry/Entertainment?

I have been involved in the music industry and entertainment since 2012. It has been a fulfilling journey that has allowed me to gain valuable experience and knowledge in this field.

What made you decide to be serious about music?

I decide to be serious about music due to my passion for it, the desire to express myself creatively, the love for performing, and the joy of connecting with others through music. Also, i’m influenced by a deep appreciation for the power of music to inspire, heal, and bring people together.

Who are your major music influences?

My major influences are Whitney Houston, Monica, Mary J Blige, Le’Andria Johnson, Tamela Mann, Summer Walker, Gansta Boo, Mia X and many more.

Which person or books have had the most influence on your career and why?

The most influential people in my career have been my children. Their presence and the responsibility of providing for them have served as a constant motivation to work hard and pursue success. They have inspired me to push beyond my limits, embrace challenges, and strive for personal and professional growth. Their love and support have been invaluable in shaping the trajectory of my career.

Your dad was a professional basketball player. Tell us about growing up with an NBA dad?

Growing up with an NBA dad was a unique and exciting experience. It provided me with the opportunity to witness firsthand the dedication, hard work, and passion required to excel in professional sports. Being surrounded by the basketball world allowed me to gain insights into the industry, learn from my dad's experiences, and develop a deep appreciation for the game. Growing up with an NBA dad also came with its own set of challenges. There were times when his demanding schedule meant he had to be away for games or on road trips, which required understanding and flexibility from our family. However, it also brought a sense of pride and admiration to see him compete at the highest level and achieve success in his career. It instilled in me a strong work ethic, discipline, and a drive to pursue my own passions and goals, regardless of the field. Overall, growing up with an NBA dad was a unique and enriching experience that influenced my perspective on sports, family, and personal growth.

You are an advocate for individuals in the city of Atlanta concerning gun violence. Tell us your personal experience.

I have personally experienced the devastating consequences of gun violence, as my son was tragically taken from me due to a senseless act of Gun Violence.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music and television?

My hobbies are reading, writing, bowling, shooting pool and of course I love my Tubi movies, sports and reality shows.

Any new projects in the works you can talk about?

Yes, I’m currently working on my first book, conducting more speaking engagements, my advocacy for Breast Cancer and Gun Violence, movies, reality tv and more
