Jacob is a homeschooled graduate, a member of the Country Kids 4-H Club and the son of Brian Holzer and Laurel Castelot of Morgantown. He is currently pursuing a degree in information technology at Ivy Tech.
Wesley Gaines
Wesley is a homeschooled graduate, a member of the Canine Crusaders 4-H Dog club and is the son of Jerry and Sherryl Gaines of Martinsville. Wesley plans to attend Grove City College in Pennsylvania to major in history.
Abbigail Mendenhall
Abbi is a member of the Critter Keepers 4-H club, and is a graduate of Mooresville High School. She plans to attend Indiana University to major in elementary education this fall. Abbi is the daughter of Andrew and Melinda Mendenhall of Mooresville.

Makayla is a member of the Swine club, and will be a senior this fall at Martinsville High School. She is the daughter of Darrell Findley and Nicole Deel of Martinsville.

Eli is a Martinsville High School graduate and member of the Junior Leaders 4-H Club. He is the son of Tim and Ann Miller of Martinsville. Eli plans to attend Franklin College majoring in music and theatre, his goal to be a professional singer, musician and entertainer.

During Alex’s 10-year 4-H career, his major projects included Model Crafts, Aerospace, Electric and Create With A Mix. Among his major awards in 4-H were three State Fair Awards of Merit in Model Crafts. Alex states he has always really valued feedback from the Morgan County 4-H judges. He would use their comments to make improvements in his 4-H

He would like to be a 4-H volunteer to help with the Model crafts project. Alex is a senior at Mooresville High School and member of the Critter Keepers 4-H Club. He is the son of Dennis and Tina Turner of Mooresville.
Jacob Holzer
During Jacob’s 10-year 4-H career, he completed projects in Poultry, Photography, Recycling, Electric, Other Crafts, Food
Preparation, Food Preservation, Microwave, and Forestry. Many of his entries in these projects were selected for State Fair including Reserve Champion (Goose) and Special Merit in Other Crafts. Jacob served as 4-H Ambassador, as well as a Shakamak 4-H camp counselor, which he lists among his most enjoyed 4-H activities. He credits his mother Laurel Castelot as the most influential person in his 4-H career. “She has consistently helped me through all of my years of 4-H.” Jacob recommends joining 4-H to prospective members as a great way to meet new people, learn new things and have fun. He is currently pursuing a degree in information technology at Ivy Tech. In the future he would like to volunteer to help with the 4-H Electric project saying, “Safety using electricity is part of our daily lives.”

Alex credits Rena Sheldon as the most influential person in his 4-H career — “From Mini 4-H through my 10th year in 4-H, she has been there every step of the way. In 2013, when I was unable to finish my Models project in time for the county judging, she encouraged me to enter a Create With A Mix item so I wouldn’t miss the opportunity to be a 10-year 4-H member. I did and won Special Merit on my entry. Without this guidance from Rena, I would not be a 10-year member today.” Alex recommends prospective members join 4-H to learn by hands-on doing and to be able to connect with others. His future plans include attending IUPUI to pursue dual degrees in mechanical engineering and in motorsports engineering.

She’s also enjoyed participating in the Horse and Pony contesting and seeing all of her hard work pay off. During Isabella Crawford’s 10-year 4-H career, her major projects included Food Preparation, Poultry and Poultry Poster. Among her major 4-H awards Isabella twice received Showmanship Champion (Poultry) as well as winning Best of Single Comb Clean Legged, (Poultry). Some of her most enjoyed 4-H activities have been poultry competition and being involved in 4-H fairs in general. Isabella says she has appreciated having community involvement and gaining responsibility through her animal projects. She credits her parents as being the most influential persons in her 4-H career — “They taught me to continue with the projects even though there may have been frustration or disappointment.” Isabella plans on attending Indiana State University’s Honor College to study biochemistry for the pre-med program. Her goal is to eventually become a cardiothoracic surgeon. She would also like to help with the 4-H Poultry project as she is certified to do blood testing on the birds. She credits her parents as the most influential persons during her 4-H career — “They were always there to help me when I was in a bind with a project and were always by my side to support me, no matter whether I was cleaning cattle or putting the finishing touches on a poster.” Taylor promotes joining 4-H to prospective members to participate in fun events and projects and to build traits to benefit oneself later in life. She plans to study Biology at Purdue University and

During Jessica’s 10-year 4-H career, her major projects included Rabbit, Dog, Small Animals, Gardening,
Flowers, Foods Preparation, Foods Preservation, Cake Decorating, Photography and Soil & Water. Among her 4-H projects selected for State Fair were Dog Agility (first and third placings), Best of Breed (Holland Lop Rabbit), Rabbit Showmanship (seven times), and sweepstakes in Soil and Water. She also received an outstanding award for one of her county fair projects in Soil and Water. Although Jessica has participated in animal shows, demonstrations, public speaking, Jr. Leaders, Battle of the Barns, pet parades and Share-the-Fun activities, she lists Fur and Feathers competition and State Fair dog agility competition among her favorite. Jessica credits her mother as the most influential person in her 4-H career — “She always helped me stay responsible for my projects but was there to lend a helping hand.” Jessica recommends joining 4-H to prospective members to gain responsibility and learn communication skills. She plans to attend Indiana University to pursue a career in medicine, eventually becoming a surgeon. She would like to do some mission work through Mt. During Daniel’s 10-year 4-H career, he completed projects in Sheep, Beef, and Llama. Although he enjoyed showing livestock in all these projects, he lists the Llama project as his favorite. tigious Herdsman of The Year 4-H award. He cites Junior Leader activities as one of his favorite 4-H interests where he was able to learn new things, especially about leadership. Braxton credits Rena Sheldon as the most influential person in his 4-H career — “She has been an adult leader for me all throughout my 4-H career and has been the one to always suggest new things for me to try.” He recommends joining 4-H to prospective members, as he feels 4-H helps a member to learn how to be more well-rounded as an individual. Braxton plans to attend Purdue University to study computer engineering. He would also like to help with the 4-H Swine Club in the future, as “… pigs have been a major part of my 4-H career.”
Braxton is a senior at Martinsville High School, a member of the Morgan County 4-H Swine Club and the son of Jason and Katie Maxwell of Martinsville.
Chloe Catellier During Chloe’s 10-year 4-H career, her major project was Swine. Some of her top awards and honors include
State Fair placings of Overall Champion (Poland China Gilt), Third Place Overall Senior (Poland China) and Reserve Champion (Poland China). She also completed projects in Cat, Poultry, Consumer Clothing and Fashion Revue. She states the three weeks of 4-H summer goings-on during the County and State fairs were her most enjoyed 4-H activities. Chloe credits her stepfather as being the most influential person in her 4-H career, providing her with encouragement, advice and support. In the future, she plans to enroll in the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology. Chloe is a member of the Morgan County 4-H Swine Club and a senior at Monrovia High School. She is the daughter of Dwayne and Sarah Berling of Mooresville.
