Quite sad, because we all know the benefits associated with finding that hour when we take a look at the things that are working in our lives, take time to commend ourselves for the work we do, to appreciate ourselves for who we are and what we have accomplished, and to celebrate the journey of life.

It reminds me of the story of the two lumberjacks. The first lumberjack worked tirelessly all day chopping wood. The second lumberjack took a break every hour. By the end of the day, the lumberjack whom had taken the regular rests had chopped significantly more wood than the other guy. The first lumberjack was dumbfounded as to how the other guy had done that. When he asked how that was possible, the second lumberjack calmly replied, “When I sit down for my break, I sharpen my axe.” In other words, by taking the time to sharpen “our axe,” we become significantly more focused and successful in all that we do!
