Preparation is the key to success
“Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.” — Thomas Edison
Wow! Where did 2024 go? It sure went by fast! It seems like just a week ago I was celebrating last New Year’s Eve. Hopefully, life will get better for everyone in 2025. My family and I are planning on BIG changes for 2025. We are moving on with our lives full speed ahead. For some of us it’s still difficult to set goals or make vacation plans.
Something I read recently struck a chord with me as I was thinking about my plans for 2025. It was an article about the American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker, Jim Rohn, who said, “It’s not the time you invest; it’s the investment you make in the time you spend with those you care about, that makes the difference.” Rohn said you can’t leave creating a great time and wonderful memories to chance…You
must weave the tapestry of a wonderful experience with intentional design and planning, in the same way you would for your business.
Now that 2024 is almost over, I’m looking back at all photos and videos from past years. I am struck by the “preciousness” of time. What makes us choose what is important or not?
We only get one journey where we decide how we are going to spend our time. It’s so easy to get caught up in the mundane task of doing and producing, as if it’s our only choice. At times it can seem like that vacation is merely a distraction from our work. But looking back I realize taking breaks was the right thing to do. Time goes by so quickly, and it is up to us to make sure we have no regrets about not doing the things that matter.
Have fun, laugh out loud, be kind to each other. Learn, play, and don’t forget to invest time to plan and prepare for the important events in your life, including travel. Don’t worry and stress yourself. What will be will be. Everything will all work out, especially if you set goals and stick to them.
So, what is my promise to myself, my family and my team for 2025? Let’s plan to make this The Best Year Ever!
