Welcome to The Hub at St Mary's, Lichfield's thriving cultural hub! We take great pride in fostering creativity, connection, and (of course) coffee!

This season, get ready for energetic standing gigs, a marvellous family exhibition, top-notch comedy, theatre, and cabaret. Our unwavering commitment to access and inclusion drives us to create safer, more inclusive spaces for everyone.

Coming in 2024...Outsiders

Outsiders is a documentary photography project by award winning photographer Marc Davenant. In partnership with Shelter, he captured a snapshot of homelessness in modern Britain over a six year period, with powerful personal testimony from participants.

FREE Exhibition

Get up close and personal with the characters we all know and love, as we explore the incredible world of Marvel Comics.

Created by Stourbridge artist Lee Bradley, who has worked on many of the iconic superheroes and best-loved characters and franchises of our generation, such as Spider-Man, Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, this free exhibition of Marvel artwork is sure to delight Marvel fans, young and old alike.

A transatlantic band fronted by Alicia Best from Durham, North Carolina, and Robert Jackson from the Midlands. Pulling from their respective roots, they weave together elements of 70s’ Folk Revival, Appalachian Blues and Country into a timeless blend of Americana.

Sunday Acoustic Lounge The Great American Songbook

From Motown to Nashville, Broadway to Vegas, a touch of Country to a pinch of Soul . A tribute to classic artists like Aretha Franklin, Karen Carpenter, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, mixed in with the likes of Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus! It’s an eclectic mix but all part of the American dream!

Following sell out dining events at The Hub earlier this year, Sel & Beurre return this Season for another two fantastic evenings of fine dining with inspired menus created by the brilliant chef, Will Hodson. Experience the glittery comedy cabaret of the New Act of the Year 2022 finalists and Chortle Award 2023 nominees, Flat and The Curves. This bra-burning evening of mischief celebrates sex and sisterhood with riotous anthems. Sarah Riches

taffordshire country songwriter Sarah Riches brings her Nashville-recorded album tour to The Hub. I Don’t Give Up Easily was produced by legendary Fred Mollin (Jimmy Webb, Kris Kristofferson), making No 4 in the UK iTunes Country Album Chart. Sarah brings along her exciting 6-piece band, and support by Americana artist Jason Callear.

Martin McAloon of Prefab Sprout

Martin McAloon will be performing a large selection of hit songs from Prefab Sprout's extensive archive celebrating over 40 years of his brother, Paddy McAloon's writing. This will be a rare opportunity to hear these incredible songs performed in their natural state.

Join local Jazz Trumpeter and Guitarist

Nick Dewhurst and his trio, featuring Jim Wynn on Piano and Tom Moore on Double Bass, as they present an evening of Swingin’ Standards. Featuring tunes by the likes of Duke Ellington such as Take the A Train, Don’t Get Around Much Anymore and Satin Doll, there will be plenty of classic jazz and swing tunes from the golden age of jazz!

Join us for our October Sunday Jazz Gig, celebrating jazz piano. Nick Dewhurst and his trio, with Tim Amann on Piano and Paul Robinson on Bass Guitar, will perform iconic pieces by jazz legends like Brubeck, Evans, Silver, and Hancock.

Warm up your December with a delightful blend of festive tunes and wintery jazz standards. Join jazz trumpeter Nick Dewhurst, pianist Tim Amann, and Tom Moore on double bass for a cosy evening of festive jazz delights.

Award-winning artist Christine Bovill takes you on a musical journey through the Golden Age of French song, exploring the Americanization of French music in the 60s. A sexy and delicious celebration featuring iconic artists like Piaf, Brel, Gainsbourg, and Hardy. Singing in French and English, witness the evolution of chanson during the Swinging Sixties.

Lichfield Chamber Music Festival

he Lichfield Festival Chamber Music weekend returns with a stellar line-up over 4 days to include oboist Nicholas Daniel OBE (Britten Oboe Quartet), Joo Yeon Sir (violin), Carducci Quartet and Oliver Wass (harp). Discover new gems alongside pieces from classical music’s greats, including works by J.S. Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Dvorak and Ravel.

Pepper and Honey, written by a Croatian playwright and brought to life by a Croatian actor, is a play about two women questioning the meaning of home. Timed to perfection in order to deliver a perfect Croatian pepper biscuit, the live baking process is intertwined with the story of what it’s like to settle in a new country. Experience Ana’s search for identity in this timely play about the journey of change, cultural differences, and the conflict between upholding the traditions of the “old country” and embracing those of the new.
