2020 has been a strange year hasn’t it? Constantly being told to socially distance even from those we love! Complying with restrictions on how we shop, work or socialise! Will Xmas fall victim to this ‘new normal’? Not if we can can help it!

Here at The Indie Guide we don’t do ‘normal’! We do unique, sustainable and inclusive, but most importantly, we’re here to support individual businesses all motivated by similarly ethical values.

Most people are unaware of the existence of many individual businesses because they don’t enjoy the public exposure afforded only to larger corporations. Our goal is to play a part in redressing this imbalance by highlighting them in this and future publications. We also hope to provide an opportunity for potential stockists to reach out to our carefully selected creatives and for you, the conscious buyer, to find a more personal and unique shopping experience, safe in the knowledge that you are helping struggling artists to continue to practice and perfect their beautiful craft.

If the recent UK and US elections have taught us anything it’s that each and every one of us has a voice and our opinions count. If, like us, you want to see an end to ‘fast fashion’ and hail the dawn of the ‘slow fashion’ generation, then vote with your money and help save and promote our independent businesses.

Everyone featured in this, our first edition, is a hard working creative with a passion for his or her craft. With over 40 creatives featured, we have attempted to bring you an array of diverse crafts and artistic talent so that you can make this Xmas both memorable and meaningful.
