Earlier this year, SouthTrade in association with Agwa de Bolivia, invited bartenders around the country to join the cast of The Bolivian Job and put their skills to the test in a blockbuster signature cocktail contest to capture the essence of this versatile liquor. The Bolivian Job cocktail competition was designed to get bartenders thinking of different ways to utilize Agwa in their bars, and bartenders were asked to upload a picture of their cocktail entry to the competition website: www.agwabolivianjob.com. Cocktail entries covered a range of styles including classic, contemporary, pre-dinner, after-dinner and long drinks, and they were judged on their presentation, the use of Agwa as a product, the cocktail’s balance and overall taste. The best three cocktail entries from each State, a winner and two runner ups, were chosen to be showcased in the Agwa Signature Cocktail booklet published by bars&clubs magazine. The winner from each State received a prize of $500 for themselves and $250 for their venue. The five state winners were - Matt Nethercote from Manhattan Bar in Queensland, Dimitri Rtshiladze from Malt Supper Club in Western Australia, Monnie Place from Cushdy in South Australia, Kevin Peters from Lo-Fi and The Standard (ex Curve, Perisher) in New South Wales and Camille Vidal from Golden Monkey in Victoria. The five finalists’ cocktails were then put to a public vote to decide the winner of the inaugural Agwa Bolivian Job competition, with Kevin Peters walking away with the title and the $2000 prize. BOLÃVA R M A R T I N I Glass: Martini Ingredients: • 30ml Agwa • 15ml Limoncello • 15ml Martini Bianco • 30ml Fresh lemon juice • 15ml Simple syrup • 15ml Egg white • 3 Basil leaves Method: Add all liquids into a boston glass, then tear basil leaves into the glass. AGWA J A M M E D Glass: Jam Jar Ingredients: • 60ml Agwa • 45ml Fresh lime juice • 20ml Sugar syrup • 15ml Alizé Pomegranate Liqueur • 4 Dashes of Chocolate bitters • 1 Bar spoon of Grapefruit jam • 1 Egg white Method: Dry shake all ingredients to foam egg white and dissolve jam then fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously. MONKEY M A G I C Glass: Rocks Ingredients: • 45ml Agwa • 15ml Alizé Pomegranate Liqueur • 15ml Fresh lime Juice • 15ml White sugar syrup • 2 Tinned lychees (muddled) • 2 Bar spoons of lychee juice Method: Muddle lychees in boston glass, add all other ingredients, and shake with ice. GRAPE F R U I T AND AG W A L ONG F A S H I O N E D Glass: Old Fashioned Ingredients: • 45ml Agwa • 15ml Junipero • 15ml Vanilla sugar syrup • 3 Dashes of Grapefruit bitters • Dash of Peach bitters • 30ml Fresh pink grapefruit juice • 30ml Fresh cloudy apple juice Method: Add bitters, spirits and syrup into an old fashioned glass. APPLETIN I Glass: Martini Ingredients: • 45ml Mickey Finn Sour Apple Liqueur • 30ml Ultimat Vodka • ¼ Fresh green apple Method: Dice apple and muddle in a boston glass. Add other ingredients and shake well with ice. Fine strain into a chilled martini glass Garnish: Thin apple slice

MI C KE Y’S M AR G A R IT A Glass: Margarita Ingredients: • 30ml Mickey Finn Sour Apple Liqueur • 30ml Patrón Silver Tequila • 15ml Lime juice • 15ml Agave syrup Method: Rim half the chilled Margarita glass with sea salt. Shake all ingredients vigorously with rock ice and fine strain into glass Garnish: Lime wheel or apple slice 26

SOUR AP P L E M O J I T O Glass: Highball Ingredients: • 45ml Mickey Finn Sour Apple Liqueur • 15ml Cloudy Apple Juice • 4 Lime wedges • 8-10 Large mint leaves • 10ml Giffard Green/Sour apple syrup • Splash of aoda Method: Gather mint in palm and ‘spank’ to release oils, rub rim of glass with mint, tear and drop into glass. Squeeze limes into glass and drop in. Add other ingredients (except soda) and half scoop of crushed ice. Using a bar spoon, muddle briskly. Fill glass with crushed ice and using bar spoon, churn ingredients to evenly distribute limes and mint. Top with a splash of soda water and ‘crown’ with crushed ice Garnish: ‘Slapped’ mint sprig Mickey Finn Signature Cocktails
