Favorite vacation spot: Hands down it’s Riviera Maya, Mexico. One thing on my bucket list: To get my pilots license and fly my G6 all over the world. Whom I admire and why: My dad because he gets more done by 10 a.m. than most people get done all day.

What I enjoy most about my job: The combination of practicing dentistry and the interaction with our patients. I get to talk to people all day, everyday about something I love and enjoy. Each patient brings a different challenge and different procedures that fully allow my skill set to evolve. It leads to a variety of different procedures we do that keep it new, fresh, and interesting for each and every patient. If I had chosen another career path, it probably would have been: Obstetrics or science research. I almost double majored in Biochemistry, and I took every high-level science class that Georgia offered. I spent three semesters in a research lab and loved every minute of it. I am a science nerd. The three best qualities that got me where I am today: Persistence, passion for my family and profession, and niceness. On my bucket list: I want to go to France, England and Italy. What I enjoy most about my job: Interacting with my patients and witnessing over time how much improved hearing impacts their overall wellbeing. I also enjoy counseling them with their loved ones, so that they can better communicate with each other and better enjoy each other’s company. Biggest accomplishment to date: I am honored to have graduated at the top of my class in both my Master’s and Bachelor’s programs, in spite of being told the curriculum would be too difficult for someone with my degree of hearing loss. I also take pride in having built a successful practice, which would have not been possible without my supportive husband, who encouraged me to start my own practice. He has been my greatest advocate. Together, we have parented two bright and loving sons, which is our most treasured role. Best advice I’ve received: When I was trying to choose a major, my counselor asked me, “If you could change anything in the world, what would you do?” I immediately responded that I wanted to improve the delivery of care for people with hearing loss and to make hearing aids more comfortable. I credit that counselor for guiding me into the field of Audiology. On my bucket list: I have always wanted to address Congress about the necessity of providing hearing aids in order to improve the quality of life for millions of Americans as well as the lives of everyone they interact with.

Biggest accomplishment to date: I’m not sure what was the biggest — the second career or the second language. Probably the combination of both. Favorite vacation spot: Hilton Head Island!
