Sumter man hit with charges in Michigan death BY CANDICE WILLIAMS The Detroit News A Sumter man, the second suspect in the killing of a University of Michigan medical student, was arraigned Tuesday in Michigan on multiple charges in connection with the homicide. Joei Alexander Jordan, 20, was charged with one count of open murder, two counts of first-degree home invasion and one count of first-degree conspiracy to commit home invasion. Jordan is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail without bond, said Washtenaw County chief assistant prosecutor Steve Hiller. Police said Jordan, along with JORDAN Shaquille Jones, 21, of North Charleston, were responsible for the homicide of Paul DeWolf, an aspiring surgeon found dead July 24 from a gunshot wound in his off-campus apartment.
