The procession will be smaller than in 1953 for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation. The King and Queen will greet crowds from the Buckingham Palace balcony. Parades, huge crowds and parties across the country will mark the Coronation weekend.

A Coronation Concert on Sunday will showcase cultural heritages in music, theatre and dance. Iconic locations around the UK will be lit up.

On Bank Holiday Monday the public will take part in The Big Help Out to raise awareness of volunteering.
