New this year

ThankYou

Welcome to A Christmas Affair 2018, Joyeux Noël, a vintage French celebration of the season. This year, The Junior League of Austin is hosting its 43rd A Christmas Affair. This unique holiday tradition is truly the kick-off to the Austin holiday season. As we celebrate, we also want to reflect on where we came from and why we continue to be involved. At the turn of the century our founder, Mary Harriman, looked around at her community and noticed a great need. She felt strongly that she “had the opportunity and the responsibility of making an important contribution to the community…to improve conditions and that we (the women of the community) should head the way.” These powerful observations led to the creation of the first Junior League in the country. Mary Harimon worked side by side with other women in her community to raise funds, to volunteer and to drive change. Over 100 years later, The Junior League of Austin continues to live out the vision of our founder, by hosting our premier fundraiser, A Christmas Affair. With your support The Junior League of Austin will continue to raise over $700,000 during this 4-day market through ticket sales, auctions & raffles, and booth space rentals. In turn, the funds raised at A Christmas Affair go directly to help improve conditions for local children, arts, women, mothers, the environment, animals, seniors, the homeless, families and ALL people of our community by supporting our over 30 community partners as well as our signature programs, such as Coats for Kids (CFK), KICs- Kids in Cool Shoes and FIT-Food In Tummies. Please enjoy the 43rd A Christmas Affair, Joyeux Noël and know that with your support you are helping the women of The Junior League of Austin “lead the way” to building a better community for us all!
