Welcome to A Christmas Affair, Dashing Through the Snow, hosted by The Junior League of Austin. My committee and I are excited to celebrate the 46th year of this Austin tradition with you. We invite you to kick off the holiday season at both Palmer Events Center and The Junior League of Austin’s Community Impact Center. Our team has curated a wintery alpine wonderland as soon as you walk through the doors to A Christmas Affair 2021. Entering Palmer Events Center, imagine yourself on a sleigh ride under the stars at the base of Mount Bluffstone. Dash through the snow down the main aisle to the mountain town of Parkcrest Village, to find a breathtaking 27-foot tree covered in glistening white snow. Venture through the town and shop the nearly 200 merchants, getting “lost in the woods” of wonderful goods and laughing all the way. After all that shopping, make your spirits brighter by sleighing to the bottom of the ski slopes and outdoor cafe in the West Lobby. Go up the mountain on our custom ski lift benches made from refurbished 1965 Borvig Lift Chairs, true pieces of skiing history. At the top of the lift, find yourself elevated to our grand Ski Chalet Bar and cozy Mountain Lodge for more refreshments and relaxation. Visit our Live Tree Farm and order your holiday tree on the spot! Continue your final ascent upstairs to the summit of Mount Bluffstone and find yourself feeling wintery joy with more merchants and a private bar with custom Yeti cups. End your adventure posed for a picture inside a life-sized human snow globe. Venture to the Community Impact Center for our Children’s Events and discover feathery owls, furry foxes, fluffy bunnies, fuzzy squirrels, and more woodland creatures under a canopy of magical pine trees. During the events, your children can visit our petting zoo, attend sing-a-longs, and participate in other winter themed activities including cookie decorating, crafting, and face painting. Have your children’s photo taken with a variety of special guests like Frosty the Snowman, Dashing, our live reindeer, and Santa Claus himself! Our Children’s Events will be a snowy good time. With your support, The Junior League of Austin will raise over $1,000,000 during this four-day market through ticket sales, auctions & raffles, and booth space rentals. The funds raised will directly support our over 30 community partners and our signature programs, including Coats for Kids, KICS–Kids in Cool Shoes, and FIT–Food In Tummies. These programs will improve conditions for local children, arts, women, mothers, the environment, animals, seniors, the homeless, families, and ALL people in our community. Please enjoy A Christmas Affair, Dashing Through the Snow and know that your support helps the The Junior League of Austin build a better community for Central Texas.
