Dear Newbies,
Your contract is signed and now it is time to get you ( and your family ) to KAUST & TKS. We know the process of relocating to a new country can be overwhelming. Let’s give you an overview of what to expect.

KAUST HUMAN RESOURCES - RELOCATION
You should be or will be contacted by a dedicated Relocation Advisor from KAUST Human Resources (HR), who will help you all the way through your Relocation to KAUST!
Some of the many ways they assist you include:

● ATTESTING YOUR DEGREE
● MEDICAL
● HOUSING
● SHIPMENT
● TRAVEL
● ARRIVAL
Of course you can always contact your dedicated Relocation Advisor if you have any concerns or questions.
THE KAUST SCHOOL (TKS) - GETTING CONNECTED
In March, TKS will begin connecting with you through a variety of platforms. Some of these platforms are intended for official school business, while other platforms are open for you to begin connecting with your new colleagues, asking questions and more. Email: You will receive some personalized emails from TKS. One of the first emails will be a Welcome Letter, which will contain your unique KAUST email address and access to Google classroom.
Google classroom will be used to share information, links to school resources and acquaint you with this platform as we use it often at TKS. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions and to ‘meet’ some of your new colleagues ahead of time, WhatsApp: If you don’t already use WhatsApp … get ready! You can join the Newbie Class of 2023 by June. A link will be sent out to you through Google Classroom. We will begin using this group to easily and openly communicate with each other, mostly non work related. Some members of the current faculty will also be on this group to help answer your questions.
THE KAUST SCHOOL (TKS) - ORIENTATION
In JUNE - The Orientation Week Schedule will be send out to you through Google Classroom to have an overview of Orientation week. During the Orientation, TKS will organize buses to pick you up at home and bring you to school. A light breakfast will be served before we start each day with a Morning Briefing.

NOTE: If you have little children, we will provide a Nanny Service for them in school. KAUST Community Life will organize a Summer Camp. Details will be shared later on Google Classroom. We have prepared an informative, varied and fun Orientation for you.
WHAT ELSE WILL HAPPEN…
TKS and KAUST HR will also arrange opportunities to set up the the following necessities:
IQAMA (Saudi Resident ID) MEDICAL: Relocation & TKS will organize your Iqama Medical, Banking -You will learn about different banking options at KAUST, and we will help you to set up your account.
Phone - you will be able to register for a Saudi mobile phone number
Benefits - you will learn about savings options offered through TKS
DRIVING PERMIT | SAUDI DRIVING LICENSE: We got you covered!
KAUST HSE ( Health, Safety & Environment ) will join for a session during Orientation week.
SHIPMENT: KAUST HR Relocation will talk in detail about the shipment process during Orientation week.

A lot of things will happen during your Orientation Week and at some point you might feel a little overwhelmed, but we are here to provide you every day with support and a smile.
