RUSSELL ORATORY PRIZE

Veronika Castillo Rodriguez

Established in 1996 and renamed in 2024 in recognition of 12th Headmaster, Mr Alan Russell, who established the current format of the annual Public Speaking Competition. Awarded across the school to a student who, in the opinion of the judges, has performed the best at the Public Speaking Finals.

ROSS MEMORIAL PRIZE

Henry Dockrill & Archer Hutchinson (aeq.)

Established in 1934 by Mr and Mrs Ross in honour of their son Malcolm Charles Ross who died from illness at age 10. It was originally awarded for a paper on English subjects and is now a Year 6 prize based on an inquiry research piece.

NEWBY MATHEMATICAL CHALLENGE PRIZE

Renren Zhang

Established in 2001 and presented to the Year 6 student with the highest overall score in the Australian Mathematics Olympiad competition.

LITERACY PROGRESS AWARD – LOWER SCHOOL

Awarded to a Lower School student who has made measurable improvement in literacy over the year.

LITERACY PROGRESS AWARD – UPPER SCHOOL

Awarded to an Upper School student who has made measurable improvement in literacy over the year.

STREET LITERARY PRIZE

Veronika Castillo Rodriguez

A Year 6 prize for writing (text types). A special award endowed in 1943 by Dr Tom Street, when his son John was School Captain.

CHRISTOPHER ASHTON PRIZE FOR ENGLISH

Established in 2024 through proceeds from the Christopher Ashton bequest, author of Tudor House: the First Hundred Years. Awarded to the Year 6 student who has finished first in English.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE PRIZE

Digby Norton-Knight

First recorded in the Tudorian in 1943, the General Knowledge Prize goes to the student with the highest score in the annual General Knowledge Quiz.

PERFORMING ARTS PRIZE (FORMERLY THE DRAMA PRIZE)

Digby Norton-Knight

A Year 6 prize for exceptional performances in the School Musical and/or other public performances (e.g. Red Cross, Assembly, Soiree).

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PRIZE K-6

Lily Lees

Awarded across the school to a student who has demonstrated effort and competence in instrumental lessons over the year.

WALTON PRIZE CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENT

Established in 2004 and awarded to a Year 6 student who has achieved across a variety of cultural areas in the school (Choir, Public Speaking, Poetry Recital, Debating, Red Cross, School Musical, Chess, Service Learning).

DROGA AWARD FOR CREATIVITY

Established in 2012 by the Droga Family and awarded to a student who has demonstrated exceptional creativity in academic and co-curricular pursuits.

STEWART YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR PRIZE

Sienna Takla & Grace Ryan (aeq.)

Established in 2024 and named after the innovative and entrepreneurial 13th Headmaster, Mr John Stewart. Awarded to a student who demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial skills and a positive attitude during the KidsMBA program.

WILL ASHTON MEMORIAL AWARDSPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR

Oliver Parry-Okeden

Established in 1999 in memory of Will Ashton (OT 1991) after his tragic passing aged 20 years, by his father Wallace Ashton (OT 1961). Will was Captain of the 1st XI and 1st XV during his time at Tudor House and later played in the Australian Schoolboys XV. A Year 6 prize awarded to the student with the most outstanding accomplishments in team and individual sports.

PARKER CUP FOR EFFORT AND TRYING

Established in 1996 and awarded to a Year 6 student who may not necessarily be in the first team but always demonstrates commitment, determination and performance in training and matches.

EMERY MEMORIAL PRIZE FOR KAHIBA (YEAR 5)

Established in 1996 and awarded to the student in the Year 5 Kahiba programme who has the best attitude and application in Kahiba classes and at the annual Year 5 Kahiba Camp.

KILMARTIN PRIZE FOR KAHIBA (YEAR 6)

Established in 1999 and renamed in 2002 and awarded to the student in the Year 6 Kahiba programme who has the best attitude and application in Kahiba classes and at the annual Year 6 Kahiba Camp.

SMART FAMILY CUP FOR BOARDING

Established in 2002 by the Smart Family. A Year 6 prize awarded to the boarder who demonstrates leadership, helpfulness and a positive attitude to boarding.

WEBECK AWARD FOR SCHOOL SERVICE

First awarded in 1973 and renamed in 2024 to acknowledge the service of the Webeck family to Tudor House. A Year 6 prize awarded to the student who, in the opinion of staff, has demonstrated a commitment, helpfulness and positive attitude to school life.

MARBURY PRIZE FOR CHORISTERS

Established in 1978 and awarded to the most outstanding Year 6 Chorister of the year. This is usually (but not necessarily) awarded to the Head Chorister.

LADY MEDLEY LIBRARY PRIZE

Established in 1999 and named in honour of Lady Medley, wife of the 6th Headmaster Sir John Medley and awarded to a Year 6 student who, in the opinion of the School Librarian has demonstrated a commitment, helpfulness and positive attitude in the library.

HEAD OF SCHOOL’S CITIZENSHIP PRIZE

A Year 6 prize awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Head of School who has worked towards the betterment of the school community through public service, advocacy and personal example.

THE BLOMFIELD CUP

First awarded in 1940, the Blomfield Cup is presented to the Dux and Senior Athletics Champion. If it is the same student, they will receive a miniature replica of the Blomfield Cup.

THE OE RUTHERFORD PRIZE

Announced at Prize Day

First awarded in 1973 in honour of the first female residential teacher, Olive Elizabeth Rutherford, who worked at Tudor House from 1940-1971. It is decided by the Staff and Head of School and is given to the student who has gained the most from their time at Tudor House.

THE DIXON AWARD

Announced at Prize Day

Established in 1970 and named after Edward Lincoln Dixon, the longest serving Headmaster at Tudor House and presented to a Year Six student who, in the opinion of the staff, has the best attitude to, and participation in, School Sports.

THE INMAN CUP

Announced at Prize Day

Named after the School founder Wilfred Inman and first noted in the Tudorian in 1925. The Inman Cup is awarded to the Year Six student who has shown the greatest level of leadership and school spirit.
