Braian Chen Quest for Victory
Jean-Luc Hooi Kingdom of Titania
My game is a board game similar to snakes and ladders, whereby the player travels up a 10x10 board by rolling a dice. When a player lands on a tile, events take place prompting the player to make further actions.
My game is a top-down RPG, where you play as Jasmine, a mystical character that thrives on adventure, while overcoming various challenges – with the objective to find the magical treasure. Players gather resources, talk with other characters and take on the fiercest enemies in the game, the Skeletons.
Cameron Gillard PACMAN
Sam Hooper HuntZ
My game is an action-packed recreation of the popular classic retro game PACMAN, with most of the original game features involving a point-based system, ghosts, power-ups and of course PACMAN himself. Also featuring the original artwork designs and sprites.
My game is a fast paced and fun top-down survival shooting game. HuntZ is designed to allow the player to choose their own strategy, determining how they will survive. Players navigate their surroundings in an attempt to survive the zombie-filled post-apocalyptic landscape, while earning money, finding new gear and upgrading.

Abdullah Ijaz Alien Shooter
Anthony Lin Project Bullet Hell
My game is a 2D top-down shooter game where aliens spawn and must be killed through the use of bullets. This is achieved by clicking the mouse in the direction you wish to shoot.
My game is a simple version of bullet hell games, which requires players to dodge fired projectiles in certain patterns. There are three different levels, which increase in difficulty as you move up the level. To beat the game, players must beat the ‘boss’ - with an almost impossible final level.
Mikey Lee Ritual Rummy
Alister Maddrell A King’s Ransom
My game takes place within the depths of an unknown dungeon. Although abandoned, it has recently been given new meaning by a satanic cult - which you decided to join. As you spend time brewing and mixing whatever meets the eye, bartering with other cultists and travellers and most importantly fighting monsters for your god’s entertainment, you slowly begin to play a twisted game of rummy. Losing is not an option.
My game is about a kid who has been transported into a “strange” land in which soldiers have stolen his royal jewels. The objective of the game is to defeat soldiers, earning points that allow you to gain upgrades that will help you progress through the game.

Jonathan Bartlet Title: Lepidoptera Deiectae = The Dismantled Butterflies & Moths Form: Collection of Work
10
My Body of Work utilises both ceramic and resin/ mixed media sculpture, as well as photography. This exalts the beauty within the anatomy and behaviour of butterflies and moths rather than the colour on their wings. I used porcelain and white resin to capture how a butterfly’s beauty is not defined by its colouration, and photography to show their behavioural beauty.
Flynn Crewes Title: Brutality Form: Collection of Work My Body of Work utilises photography and sculpture to capture the stark, symmetrical and unadorned style of Brutalism, devoid of all colour, decoration and symbolism. Before we call for the wrecking ball, we could look again at our concrete beasts and see that below that rough skin, we might see a little brutish charm.
Eric Chen Title: Beyond the Lines Form: Collection of Work
Joseph Essey Title: What is the price of a childhood lost? Form: Collection of Work
My Body of Work utilises acrylic painting and drawing to capture the juxtaposition between the sky and the manmade world. By doing so I want to evoke the audience’s appreciation for the beauty of nature, something that we have come to lack due to the urbanisation of the world around us.
My Body of Work utilises photography, sculpture and ink painting in order to encapsulate how often children of today no longer play with traditional toys or spend time with each other outside, instead they spend their recreational time on technology.
King’s Showcase HSC Works 2020
Oscar Green Title: I Can Barely Be Seen Form: Collection of Work
James Ha Title: Monumental Building Blocks Form: Collection of Work
My Body of Work utilises film and photography to capture different perspectives to show the journey of a human, bird and fish. The human perspective shot with a camera, the bird perspective shot with a drone and the fish perspective shot with a Go Pro.
My Body of Work utilises sculpture, photography and Photoshop to capture the beauty and diversity of cities and urban areas - displaying the inherent beauty of cities, how they are vast, structures made up of distinct, individual buildings that display unity and diversity of people, they are art pieces on their own.
Henry Gubbins Title: Across the Surface Form: Collection of Work
Luke Higginbotham Title: Prussian Perspectivism: A Cityscape Roaming Through Consciousness Form: Collection of Work
My Body of Work utilises reduction lino Prints, photography, film and rastered wood photos to display my love for water-skiing and the beauty of the water. The work displays the untouched water and how it is affected by the water-skier’s experience and shows the water effects that occur throughout the skier’s path.
My Body of Work range from completely cyanotype to completely photographic, with the bridge between the two highlighting the medium’s dichotomies. Overall, my work juxtaposes consciousness and the photographical process, as well as photography and cyanotype to put their relationships under a microscope to see the contrasts between the two.

Ben Irving Title: Light Itself is a Revelation Form: Photomedia
Hugo Jones Title: Umbrella of Democracy Form: Collection of Work
My Body of Work intertwines the material practices of both photography and acrylic sculpture. It encapsulates the notion of light, both natural radiance and artificial illumination. Through exploring the concept of the effect of light on the landscape, we see how light is inextricably linked to its environment providing ambience, beauty and radiance to the surrounding darkness.
My Body of Work utilises watercolours, origami, sculpting and photography to capture the empathy I have for the Hong Kong protestors, as they fight for their freedom, more over their desperation for a future as the people’s republic of China pushes to take control of Hong Kong.
Eric Jiang Title: The Long Walk Form: Collection of Work
Lochie Maher Title: Summit Form: Painting
My Body of Work utilises sketching and painting to capture my personal experience throughout my life, all of the significant events and important people who led me on specific paths and shaped me into who I am today. It also explores the combination of values and beliefs from two different cultures.
My Body of Work explores the Modernist practice of creating a series of paintings using the device of repetition. Inspired by artist Imants Tillers, my work is a series of vignettes which highlight the majestic beauty of the Snowy Mountains. Through paint, I’ve captured the transient and ephemeral nature of the alpine landscape.
King’s Showcase HSC Works 2020
Lexi McClean Title: Vestige: The Reverberating Mind Form: Collection of Work My Body of Work utilises analogue photographic techniques with journaling to explore the visceral nature of memory - how we capture a memory and how the objective view of photography and journaling is augmented by the emotive association we have with a moment. It captures the feeling that extends beyond the ‘objective’ moment, establishing a visceral connection.
Isaac Olsson Title: Life’s Hardship Allows for the Recognition of Peace Form: Collection of Work My Body of Work utilises photography, sculptures and videography to capture one’s fluctuating emotions due to the psychological battles and ecstasies each person faces. My work highlights the truth that there is always peace at the end of suffering, by illustrating the journey from turmoil to a state of tranquillity.
Alessio Meroi Title: ENDANGERED Form: Photomedia
James Russell Title: Societies Roots in Greco Roman Architecture Form: Photomedia
My Body of Work explores the habitat and rare beauty of a humble honeybee - one of the planet’s most endangered species - using conceptual formation and photographic creation. Utilising macro-photography, I wanted to capture the captivatingly intricate, yet fragile ecosystem of the honeybee.
My Body of Work utilises printmaking, embossing, sculpting, drawing, and photography to explore the beauty and complexity of Greek and Roman Architecture, illustrating the impact the complexities have had on contemporary society. Columns, archways and pediments are techniques unique to these ancient societies and have been adapted into modern society.

Visual Arts
Harry Veil Title: All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream Form: Collection of Work
14
My Body of Work utilises photography, lino printing and acrylic light boxes to encapsulate the concept of dreams and nonsensical imagery as a strange juxtaposition of stories as it explores the idea of “a dream within a dream” (Edgar Allan Poe).
Jonathan Campos Title: Flight Form: Collection of Work My work attempts to encapsulate the motion involved with flight and looks at the different mechanical aspects, such as feather design and wing shape in order to shed light on this natural beauty.
Max Von Appen Title: 2050 A perfect summer’s day at the lagoon Form: Collection of Work
Glen Feng Title: Censorship Form: Sculpture
My Body of Work utilises Lino cuts, water colours, photography and sculptures as mediums to encapsulate the on-going effects pollution has on the environment. Curl Curl lagoon, once flourishing with wildlife, has since the growth in local industrial business and rising population, seen the once pristine lagoon turned dark and mundane, filled with pollution and sewage.
My Body of Work explores the censorship in China, which I noticed being raised in a Chinese household, moving between Australia and China. Utilising door and roof tiles as symbols of censorship – the cut through text and smashed tiles reveal images to ‘uncensor’. I allow the audience to interact with the work, seeing China through a different lens.
King’s Showcase HSC Works 2020
Harry Little-Estens Title: What Lies Beneath? Form: Collection of Work
Hewie Lewis Title: MINDSCAPE 2020: The Art of the Unreal Form: Collection of Work
Plastic has become interwoven with our day to day lives. It’s one of the most useful things of the 21st century and yet the most destructive. My Body of Work focuses the audience’s attention on the detailed ‘beautiful’ plastic. There is more micro plastic in the ocean than there are stars in the milky way.
PSYCHEDELIA is the ultimate form of Visual Art, where the blurring of what’s real and unreal is left to the imagination of the observer. My Body of Work explores these weird and wonderful lifeforms across three media; sketches, sculpture and video.
Harrison Stewart Title: Beyond the Shortboard Form: Collection of Work
John Cha Title: Memoirs of a Korean Australian Form: Photomedia
My Body of Work references the Alternative Australian Surf Culture. Using canvas boards I designed a font with Ocky Straps, commonly used by surfers to tie down their boards. The text is sourced from the surfing culture’s vocabulary, linked to, and contextualised by a scrolling LED sign and various photographs of beach architecture and portraits.
My Body of Work utilised post-modern technique of appropriation across all three of my components of watercolour paintings, three-dimensional collages and film, exploring the relationship between my ‘mother country,’ South Korea, and myself. The work comments on my ill-informed perceptions of Korea, as a result of my Western upbringing and influences such as the internet and television.

Visual Arts

Jordan Thompson Title: Weaving a Life Form: Collection of Work
Max Mason Title: Fusion of time Form: Drawing
My Body of Work focuses on the artwork weaving. It represents the simplicity and beauty of the natural environment and captures the cultural and historical techniques of those who live amongst it. These people express meaning through the form of symbols, materials and language, much different to the wider wold today.
My Body of Work portrays my impression of how contemporary and traditional architectural styles have been and should be combined in our current-day urban cityscapes. I showed a bold juxtaposition between the old and new, by exploring a number of traditional European styles, embodying the old-world of architecture, and also depicting abstract and non-conventional modern forms.
Marcus Malouf Title: Thread Bear Form: Collection of Work
Nathan Yuen Title: The Fall Of One Thousand Paper Cranes Form: Collection of Work
My Body of Work utilised slip casting, photography and ink printing to explore fading childhoods. It references the shared sentiment of teenagers wanting to grow up too fast, leaving our childhoods behind as mere shells, hanging out to dry. It conveys a feeling of introspection, capturing the melancholic sentiment of looking back and having little regard for such things as a teddy bear.
My Body of Work utilised traditional and postmodern sculptural elements to explore the facets of humanity’s delicate and tenuous relationship with nature. Through the symbolic design of the paper crane and the intricate structure of blossoming trees, it attempts to encapsulate the fragility and ephemerality of nature’s existence, caused by modern society’s destructive and eternal effects.

Joe Alcorn Bar with Storage
Oscar Faulkner Ping Pong Table
My project is an elegant bar made out of Tasmanian Oak veneered particle board. It has a wine-rack, shelving and a drawer as well as a space for a bar fridge. The bar has a service area for preparing and serving drinks. To increase height it has a plinth around the base of the main frame.
I created a ping pong table using Tasmanian Oak, featuring MDF board with diagonal grain patterns and contrasting merbau inlays. The top is surrounded by a contrasting merbau edge with a rounded profile. It is both functional and ready to dismantle for transport. I also created the net supports with a hand-made wooden thread.
Elliot Busch Bentwood Designer Table
Rylee Hazel River Table
My table is a combination of delicate waves and curves, created by steam bending the legs into a tusk like shape and a wavy shelf made by bending ply covered with matching veneers. The legs are visible through the top of my table and a diagonal wedge creates a contrasting feature
I built a river table, using River Red Gum. Four pieces were arranged to create the corners, filling the spaces in between with resin to create a clear transparent ‘river’ section. The legs on the corners give the impression of the table floating.
King’s Showcase HSC Works 2020
Ryan Jones Hot Tub
Marco Levy Resin River Coffee Table
I created a cedar hot tub, with interior seating in a hexagonal shape, held together with 3 stainless-steel bands on outer edge. I added a Tasmanian oak rim on top, with a separate staircase with a built-in guard rail to enter/exit.
I created a Marri coffee table with a Jarrah burl and epoxy chess board that is placed inside of the tabletop. Due to natural defects in the Marri I reinforced the top with ‘Butterfly Keys’ on the underside.
Jared Kaw Garden Bench
Oliver Little American White Oak Dining Table
I created a park bench. The frames were made from layers of veneer, laminated together over a former to create the shape so that the frames were all identical. The frames are connected together using horizontal wooden slats.
I made a large (2.8m-long by 1.8m-wide) dining table. This table is going to be used on my family farm in Robertson. The table is made out of American White Oak which was purchased as rough sawn boards.

Brandon Mansour Card Table
Ariyan Nand Study Table
I created a poker table which contrasts a dark timbered base (Tasmanian Blackwood) and a light timbered top (Tasmanian Oak). The table aims to incorporate a poker theme throughout the table with the four suits being patterned in the felt as well as around the inlays on the table.
I built a modern study table that matches the interior of my room. My desk has a worksurface to study and four drawers that will be used to store stationery.
Michael Maung Waterfall Executive Desk
Cuba Patterson Wooden Slab Dining Table
I have used American Black Walnut to build a very functional desk that I will be using in my bedroom at home. The desk is equipped with a comfortable working height, four sections of bookshelves, four drawers, and two compartments to store my safe and a printer.
I made a live-edge River Red Gum slab dining table, suitable for 8 to 10 people. It can be taken apart and made into a ‘flat pack’ for easy transport. There was no glue used in this design; it’s held together purely by friction. I added ‘Butterfly Keys’ into the legs to reinforce natural defects.
King’s Showcase HSC Works 2020
William Penisini Bar with Storage
Thomas Stacy Dining Table
I made a bar out of Tasmanian Oak veneer and Jarrah hardwood. The front panel has a diagonal pattern in the veneers. The bar has storage compartments with three drawers and a glass door over a cupboard with shelves. I have also created a space for a bar fridge.
I made a large dining table using Blackbutt timber. The legs are turned and were too big to be done at school, so I had the shaping outsourced. The top has ‘Breadboard’ ends to control movement in the grain. I finished the whole project with Scandinavian oil.
Lachlan Shaw Display Cabinet
Zachary Thompson 12 Seater Dining Table
I made a display cabinet using a combination of Tasmanian Oak veneer and solid wood. My cabinet has two drawers at the bottom for storage and two doors above with glass panes and glass shelves for displaying collectables and trophies. On top I added a decorative capping as a feature to complete my display cabinet.
I made a 12 seater dining table using two large slabs of wood that were book matched from a Camphor Laurel tree, filling any defects in with clear resin. I joined them together to create a mirror effect, then used solid Camphor Laurel to make the legs.

Alan Weng Steam Bent Lounge Chair
Teddy Wilson Hallway Table
I constructed a curved wooden chaise lounge that’s attached to a simple curved leg base. The design is to mimic a human relaxing position, which would maximise comfort and enjoyment while sitting on it. The design of the lounge chair was largely inspired by Charlotte Perriand’s 522 Tokyo Chaise Longue.
I made a credenza using Tasmanian oak veneered panels and solid timber for the base. The cabinet has storage drawers and doors and is inspired by designs from the 70’s. The credenza will be used at my farm in Bulahdelah.
Thomas Williamson Circular Expanding Table My project is a Fletcher Capstan round table, aka an expanding round table – using contrasting timbers. It functions by spinning the top surface in order to activate the expanding motion of the main table panels. Once they are fully expanded the expansion panels raise up from underneath to form the expanded table surface.
