“My artistic voice now has a lot to do with my past. The police found me as a newborn on a bench and brought me to an orphanage. By God’s grace, I received a loving home in America, but I grew up not knowing whose smile I share or whose laugh I have. At times, I’ve wished for a glimmer of my story, a photograph of where I came from. That feeling made me sensitive to the weight heritage holds and the gift photography is.”
