Some Don't Wear Capes; They Wear the of Nobility!

What is the definition of heroes? Surfing in the depths of the internet, on those sites that have rarely appeared on the first few pages of search results, the most relatable quote that could satisfy this urge is, 'Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary.'

The above quote might be seen in many places and rightly satisfy a hero's requirements. But in the world that has surrounded us with tools of entertainment, the first impression of a hero that we have formed, or it would be more appropriate to say that we are forced to form, is of an attractive person with a cape, flying across our houses and making the world a better place.

This concept of 'heroism' has put us all in the dilemma of whether heroes exist.

The trust is, yes, heroes exist, and in a society where passionate humans drive, the concept of heroes can never fade.

In fact, just take any broader concept with the incarnation of minute details in it; it can be said that the act of heroism is influential. However, in a society surrounded by all sorts of professions, the most prominent one shapes and moulds the entire world's future.

Though these influential personalities do not wear a cape but wear an invisible tag of 'Nobility' , rather than depending on the heroic act of depending on someone for help, the tag of nobility allows them to take the entire race of humans forward.

This tag of nobility is often celebrated for the doctors, lawyers and engineers, but in the old prescription papers, the pile of lawsuits and dusty blueprints of

incredible architecture, the noblest teaching profession is sublimed by the masses.

The Knowledge Review magazine, recognising this, through its latest edition— The Most Admired Education Influencers in India, 2022 —aims to celebrate the success of such noble heroes, who not only choose to be the hero with any cape and wear the invisible and less talked about the badge of nobility.

In this edition, you will find some of the most influential and admired educators in Indian education and let this edition be the guide for your future ventures.

And have happy celebrating the selfless act of heroism .

Turning Tides in Education Pedagogy

I aim to make the learners of today responsible, meaningful, and sensitive human beings who can contribute towards the upliftment of society.

In the Indian educational system, whenever women have stepped into its topography, they have enhanced and upgraded its ecosystem. History is the proof of this, and over the years, India has witnessed some of the finest women educators that changed the face of education for generations to come.

An educator's job is not just to educate but to ensure the consistent evolution of the learners, evolution of body, mind and soul. However, there has always been a little restriction when the topic of women education is tickled. Dr. C. Ananda Vayaravel

Driving Force of Positive Intent in Medical Education

“ “

I firmly believe that success is a journey and not a destination; similarly, education is a continually evolving process with no end in sight.

Dr. C. Ananda Vayaravel, Professor and Principal at Sri Venkateshwaraa College Of Paramedical Sciences ( SVCPMS ), Puducherry , is also a dynamic educator who practices and trains attain skills of positive thinking.

The Knowledge Review proudly presents a highlight of the story of this versatile educator and his esteemed Medical Institute.

A Charismatic Leader

Dr. C. Ananda's professional journey began as a member of the Faculty at Pondicherry University in 2000. In the past 22 years, his career has steadily advanced to the present position of Professor and Principal. He has earned his MBA and Ph.D. degrees and is currently pursuing international excellence. His passion for teaching and research has consistently earned him numerous awards and prizes, including Best Researcher, Best Academician, Best Educator, Best Writer, Top Ten Principal, and the Visionary Principal from renowned organisations.

When you are told that you are not good enough, what do you do? In such a scenario, it is imperative for a human mind to give in to the fear of failure and abandon their passion ventures.

Fear and failure are inevitable! Success, too, is inevitable if one finds the inner strength to rise from failure and stride forward. But sometimes, this inner strength needs exterior interventions to bring it to the surface.

As a member of the Board of Studies, Dr. C. Ananda constantly strives to ensure that the curriculum meets the gold standard. He has played a vital role in expanding the repertoire of SVCPMS. The number of courses on offer has grown from 3 to 6 since he has assumed leadership. The institute is looking forward to adding 11 more

W

new courses ranging from diploma to doctorate in the near future.

In addition to being an academician, Dr. C. Ananda is also an entrepreneur, and he likes to keep a positive frame of mind at all times. Reading positive mental attitude books and listening to motivational speeches have enabled him to stay positive and motivated even during tough times. He says, "I am greatly inspired by Robert Schuler's quote ‘tough times never last, but tough people do.’ I spend a considerable amount of time counseling my students, both during the time of admission and in their final year, to help them make the best choices for their future."

Stellar Medical Institute

Sri Venkateshwaraa College of Paramedical Sciences was established in 2010 in Ariyur, Puducherry, with a vision of developing skilled Technologists to attain the goal of ‘Creating a Healthier Society’ . The institute's mission is to lay a strong foundation by imparting the highest calibre of professional knowledge and providing the best learning experience with a great emphasis on hands-on training. While discussing the same Dr. C. Ananda asserts, "We strongly believe that this would equip our students with highly competent skills and enable them to achieve their fullest potential."

Overcoming Challenges with Grace According to Dr. C. Ananda, the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be a significant challenge in his academic career. He asserts, "At the height of the pandemic when we had to switch to online, virtual training, it was exceptionally difficult in getting several students, especially from the rural areas, accustomed to this mode of training. We gradually overcame

this hurdle by opening up several lines of communication, including group texting, direct calling, WhatsApp group texting, etc., until all the students were comfortable and competent enough to adjust to the online training module."

Dr. C. Ananda believes that the expansion of the virtual world of teaching due to the suspension of inperson learning has encouraged him to innovate. He took this unique opportunity to reach out to his friends and colleagues who are currently experts in their respective fields of study to participate in a webinar and E-lecture series. This proved to be highly informative and was very well received by the students, who benefited immensely from these virtual lectures.

Dr. C. Ananda adds, "The resumption of in-person classes in the postpandemic era also brought along its own set of hardships. Re-calibrating the student psyche to fall back on the pre-pandemic non-open book mode of testing was no mean task. More importantly, the continued paid educational training of several students whose parents had faced

financial ruin due to the pandemic tested my mettle as the leader of my institution." However, with the able support of the management and the enthusiasm of his students and staff, he was able to steer through these troubling and testing times successfully.

Advanced Learning Methodology

When asked about the SVCPMS's unique approach to learning, Dr. C Ananda explains, "The advantages of studying in a teaching hospital are that in addition to attending their regular classes and rotations in the clinical laboratories, the students have an opportunity to participate in medical camps, be involved in other social activities etc. that helps them gain valuable hands-on experience." As the leader of the institution, he strives to amplify these opportunities, whenever and wherever possible, for the benefit of his students.

During the pandemic, the institute organised several subject-oriented and environment-oriented online events and quizzes well attended by several participants from several states across

India. This helped the students form a group of more than 750 allied health science students across India on Telegram to provide updated information about educational and job opportunities. Some of the students were also placed in premier hospitals across the country.

Dr. C. Ananda's responsibilities also extend to providing freelance advice and guidance to students and professionals across India, on authoring book chapters and research articles (Glimpse of Medical Sciences, by Immortal publications, Recent Advances in Health Sciences, by Scieng publications)

He was also honoured with a 'Certificate of Empowerment' by Young minds publishing house for guiding more than 50 students to author a chapter in an e-book during the COVID-19 pandemic ('SCIENCEInviting your perceptions').

Word of Advice for the Students

When asked to share a message of advice for students worldwide, Dr. C. Ananda replies, "I firmly believe that success is a journey and not a destination; similarly, education is a continually evolving process with no end in sight. It is every educated individual's responsibility to influence positively and inspire our fellow beings

and contribute to the community's sustainable development."

Heading into the Future

"As its leader, it falls on me to ensure the sustained good reputation of my institution, broaden its horizons, explore and expand its repertoire. I plan to achieve this by being innovative and providing an inclusive and healthy environment for all my students to thrive. My short-term goals are to identify and address deficiency areas by developing and introducing newer courses, obtaining the necessary accreditation, and providing a framework for future novelty and innovation."

Educator's Learning Arc

Changing Roles of in the INDIAN Education System

Education has been a part of the Indian soil's never eroding culture. The change has played its role every now and then, incomplete without the struggle stories of great educators in India, which form the basis of the Indian education system.

28 | July 2022
www.theknowledgereview.com | 29

The membrane surrounding the nucleus of education has developed, leading to changes in understanding, strategies, ways of teaching, and perception of education. Widening its scope, it has led to new approaches to teaching techniques along with an increase in expectations from educators. Shaping the young minds to become responsible adults, they are expected to be versatile, respectful, and unbiased, and the list goes on.

Creating Rapport

The bond between teacher and student should be based on trust and understanding. Knowing the student on different levels is considered important for educators as it helps them to understand and teach better. It also involves a part of the overall development of a student. This does not necessarily include getting straight A's on every test, but it surely does in better performance as a person in life.

Up-Grading

The time when A grades were only what mattered is long gone. Today it's more about learning, understanding, and experimenting. Excelling in different domains has become evident, and those 180 areas of intelligence are more widely believed and accepted than ever before. Instilling the confidence to excel in the desired field is crucially important as it carries an ability to change a life. This is the responsibility shouldered by educators.

Accepting the student and believing in their ability gives them the confidence to accept and soar through the skies of the competitive world.

Method of Teaching

Progressively reaching the global mark, the Indian Education System has involved technology which has provided great help to both educators and learners.

According to the research, the visual presentation of any study positively affects students as any material presented in visual and auditory format is recallable 50% compared to just reading it, where the memory stored is only up to 10%. Using this research, educators are using digital methods for better teaching and learning process.

Knowing Psychology

As it comes from everyone, teens are the most problematic young people in the world, or are they?

Going through an understanding of the world, changing thoughts, physical changes, and shift in responsibilities, the teenage phase of life is probably one of the most difficult and rough ones. Most of the teens going to school spend almost more than half of the day with their class and teachers. The observance is a quite vigilant aspect in such a setting. An educator has the privilege to notice the changing behaviours and discipline the students. Specifically, in Indian Education System, these changes are quite noticeable.

Educators often try to converse with young adults about their problems and show them the better way to deal with them. Including child psychology and understanding of cognition, prosses have become mandatory for educators

to understand their students better and help them.

Online Education:

Online educators have a huge fan base and immense respect among the community of educators. The credibility and teaching prosses involved are looked forward to by many, the general opinion being it is easier to understand and grasp. Though teaching online could be extremely challenging as there is no direct interaction between the teacher and the learner, it is something that has surfaced and has been loved by students during the pandemic.

Indian educators have always been famous for learning things; however, a shift can be seen where understanding and learning are more valuable than mugging up the information.

Conclusion:

The educator is not the only one that comes in class, writes on the board, reads a few things, and goes away. The educator is the person that comes and observes his students, knows what they want and is aware of their needs along with their academic progress.

Educators' role in the Indian Education system is no longer just academic but has spread out to that of shaping one's life and further shaping the nation.

One of the major indicators of a progressive society is its legal system. India being the largest democracy in the world is also one of the fastest developing countries globally. Indian constitution is considered one of the best in the world.

Even though, India has a vast and diverse population, and most of its citizens are unaware of its laws that everyone must know. Moreover, the gap exists between the growing population of the country and the justice system is somewhere acting as a barrier in moving from a developing country to a developed country.

Addressing this unique requirement of legal education in our country, many ventured into improving and closing the gap of legal education and judicial reform. However, educating a huge country and providing this country with many prominent leaders in the judicial system is quite a challenge even for educators in this sector.

Modern Education Leveraging Day Technology for Academic Excellence

EEducation is an important aspect of everyone's life and career as it influences a person's career and lifestyle as well. It does not remain only confide to acquiring knowledge. Over the past few decades, many things have changed in the Indian education system. It has evolved over a wide range. Who knew it would drastically affect every educational sector on many levels?

Thanks to technology and innovation, methods of teaching have taken a turn for the better. It enables students to adapt to modernization in the changing times. The goal of education includes the means of technological

advancements and innovation. Competitive worlds needed to be flexible enough for the students for these ever-changing educational scenarios.

Given pandemic hit all sectors, including the teaching faculty. It has changed the way of learning for students. Previously, the implementation of personal education was carried out through books, lectures, and tests based on them. Modern education evolved by improvising the traditional methods and transmitting knowledge from one person to another through modern methods.

www.theknowledgereview.com | 37

One might say that the traditional system was upgraded to a modernized teaching situation. It is derived from a cultural system, but it is a lot different as it further exceeds a career perspective. Let's look at the way how it has become an essential part of the educational system now.

NEED FOR ADVANCEMENT IN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM

Ÿ

Implement practical learning through educational apps

The scenario of education changed vividly with support of learning with reference to the abundance of educational material provided through remote learning. It plays a major role by making it a continuous learning process for students. The resources primarily used were: video lectures, live classes by professional seasonal educators, handing out weekly assignments, quizzes, and revision worksheets along with follow-up sessions.

Students are benefited immensely from the learning apps due to the high practice of digital content, which would engage the students and improve their grasping abilities. The pace of learning accelerated with these priceless opportunities, which free learning apps bright to the students.

Ÿ Computer adaptive learning

Concerning how technology overtook traditional teaching with computeraided learning through learning apps, it can be said that it gave students the ability to tackle with initial stages of learning and assist in giving instructions and working on difficulties. It exposed teachers to take out more from learners to master skills while teaching. These methods were implemented by local instructors and

later on facilitated good programs accompanied by an understanding of the basic structures of teaching.

Ÿ Tech-based tactics with traditional learning

The advancement in educational systems along with online classes is just another petal of the rose. Schools now use technology automation as an important part of their system, and digitalization has aided many aspects such as admissions, staff training, employee attendance, class management, HR, payroll, and even timetabling. It also shows its school bus management, exams, and school notification systems. It lessens the work of school administrators with technology and automation.

Ÿ Advancement in time management skills using time tracking tools

Students often face challenges with managing time and completing homework, and the bottom line to teaching is also effective management skills for the students. With the use of technology, students can easily tackle their work with greater efficiency than before. Using time tracking tools, students can get real-time insights about their problems related to studies and consistency. It helps them keep short-term goals and have insights to progress with efficiency. It is a lot more useful during exams and tight deadlines, performs better during examinations, and compares previous performances.

Ÿ Lessen the student feedback loop

Nothing speeds up learning processes other than shortening the feedback loop. Making software that cracks the code for the quality of developers and gives instant feedback motivates them to enhance their skills to encourage

students. Shorter feedback loops build experience and improve satisfaction with tools used while doing it. These tools leverage other arenas of education sectors as well.

Ÿ

Ai d learning with research-based experiences

The learning process is most generally emphasized on memorizing and formulaic methods, which are not enough for organic research of trial and error. With tech coming into the picture, it turns into a journey of finding answers to questions and not simply believing the ones given in books or taught in schools. Preparing students early on with this approach will only help with a faster pace in the workplace.

Ÿ Automatization of test scoring and free up teacher's time

In recent times, all schools implemented the method of OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) software which offers increased turnaround time accompanied by improved accuracy. Test scoring in all types of schools, be it recruitment exams, scanning, and digital assessment with automation. This process reduces fraud, frees up the teacher's time, and focuses more on teaching methods.

To encapsulate, the scope of leveraging technology for learners is massive. With ever-evolving technological innovations seen every passing day. Educational technology can bolster a vibrant pace altogether while enabling students to learn practically and pace up with excellence each time. As far as they excel, high grades will follow on their own.

commercial side of the internet, many significant companies are leveraging the power of the internet for branding and selling their products and services.

As they know, online marketing has significant future career growth.

After Knowing the demand for digital marketing, Mr Yogesh ShashiDigital Academy 360 established and started his first batch with only 30 students. Since then, he has only aimed to provide blended learning for the students.

The academy has always focused on providing a platform where the students can groom their interpersonal skills. It also provides 100 percent job placements in renowned organizations. In the assurance of this statement, Mr Yogesh, the of the academy said that Founder and CEO they will refund the course fee to the students if they didn't get jobs through the academy. He also added, "That is how confident we are in our ability to upskill and deliver. I am proud to say that we have had no refund requests so far."

While having a conversation with , The Knowledge Review Mr Yogesh shared his learning experiences, achievements, and future vision-mission of the academy.

Prospering the Milestones and Achievements

Mr Yogesh Shashi established Digital Academy 360, a digital agency that aimed to represent brands, and he started

the agency after completing his graduation in 2009 at the age of 20.

The transition from agency head to pioneering certified education happened due to market demand and a lack of qualified professionals in the market. He wanted to build an ecosystem of learned individuals and qualified professionals by teaching them the fundamentals of digital marketing.

Mr Yogesh's biggest inspiration has been his mother, who excelled in him by doing tailoring business and creating a big market base for herself in many areas of Bangalore. She used to pay for the education of underprivileged children in the locality, and she was a hero to many. Mr Yogesh's biggest achievement has been- to be able to make learning completely free for the first batch of Digital Academy 360, which was for about 30 students.

He doesn't get fazed by the recognition, accolades, and awards that come on his way. He solely focuses on providing a platform for students to achieve digital academic excellence and gain opportunities to find their dream jobs.

Strategies for Educational Upliftment

When we asked Mr Yogesh about his contribution to societal education and enhancement of the academic structure of the country, he responded, " After learning and gaining my certifications in Digital Marketing, I was appalled at the lack of awareness about it. But I always wanted to create an educational platform for people of all ages to learn and understand online marketing. So, the best way to go about it is to encourage discourse about business and marketing. After working persistently, I was fortunate enough to go a step further and set up an educational institution for the same."

www.theknowledgereview.com | 41
Learning new skills and keeping up with market trends are the most important aspects of excelling in any career.

Institute's Distinct Solutions

Digital Academy 360 is a dream of Mr Yogesh Shashi. Employment in India has always been a hot topic. Every student and individual seeks a dignified job, whereas companies aim for skilled candidates for their various processes.

With Digital Academy 360, the institute aims to bridge that gap. By giving students a necessary tool that schools and colleges fail to deliver. It also helps the students for tempering brand expectations. The academy can create happy relationships for both parties and can create a winwin situation for the students and the industries

If we talk about the uniqueness of the academy, the institute has been placing 100 percent of its students in renowned companies. Mr Yogesh assured his ability to upskill, deliver comprehensive skills, and provide jobs in renowned companies.

Perseverance for Success

At a growing age, Mr Yogesh didn't have the same resources as today's kids have. He studied in an era where computers and the internet were fanciful objects and only meant for large businesses, not for schools. After digging deep, he found the answers to entrepreneurship in the realm of online marketing.

The academy has now created an enormous platform where students get the best education- premium tools, full exposure to marketing procedures, live case studies, practical learnings through live projects, and providing oneon-one mentorship for customized learning. The institutes

42 | July 2022

do provide guest lectures from industry experts and much more learning.

The academy keeps track of trendy updates in online marketing; thus, there should not be any hindrance to learning due to a lack of resources.

Galvanizing Pupil

While conversing with Mr Yogesh, we questioned him about the inspiration that drives the students to choose the bright career path. Asserting on this question, he shared his mantra for motivating the students and said, "In India, students follow a typical template of schooling, college, and then finding a worthwhile job. This only works for a small portion of the lot. Most young people struggle not knowing what they want to become in their life. So, I aim to break the shackles of this illusion. Hundreds and thousands of jobs are out there waiting to be explored. Market requirements are increasing, and the only thing missing is skilled candidates. So, the only motivation I give my students is that there are plenty of jobs waiting for them, all they need is to get qualified. And that only takes 8 to 9 months."

Retaining and Enhancing Student's Engagement

The Digital Academy 360 create and give value to its students by enabling an excellent engagement of the graduates. The academy inculcates the formula of blended learning, i.e., both online and offline. Its curriculum strikes a healthy balance between technical skills and practical learning.

Learning can be fun, too, and the students need exposure in several areas such as corporate culture, personal grooming,

etiquette, and many other soft skills. It is a great platform for the students to explore all these skills in a matter of months and it has 30,000 students and still counting for more.

Common Message for Students

After a long conversation with Mr Yogesh, an inspiring leader, he shared a life-long global message for students. He says, "Learning new skills and keeping up with market trends are the most important aspects of excelling in any career. This applies to doctors, lawyers, and all professions that keep up with the times and update their knowledge database. So, for students, it is essential to understand that you never stop learning, even at 60. Learning is a lifelong process. Once to understand this, you begin to operate with humility and the eagerness to apply new things in your life and profession."

Upcoming Plans for Institute

Later Mr Yogesh enlightens us with his future steps for his institute and postulate, "I believe in growing slowly but strongly. We already have ten centres in South India, and we plan to expand more. Apart from Digital Marketing and Graphic Design, we have brought Full Stack Development and Content Writing programs for students. Data Science programs are something we could explore and provide, given their immense potential. Nothing is fixed. When you learn Digital Marketing, you understand that you must be flexible and ready to pivot all the time. You deliver what the audience wants. So, I am happy with the growth we have enjoyed, and I know this is just the beginning of larger, better, and greater things."
