A great custom is always a great custom, but it’s greater still when the base vehicle is already an interesting rarity. So Johnny Morris’ shop truck ticks all the boxes and then some – because down below it’s a unibody Ford F100, and you can go years without seeing one of those.
Johnny’s F100 is one of a trio of Fords in this month’s issue of Custom Car. There’s the ’31 Model A coupe that graces the front cover, along with a spectacular ’37 cabrio whose original owner spared no expense whatsoever in the build.
We’ve also got more from this year’s Supernats – specifically, a gallery from the 32nd Street display of Deuces. That was an event where everybody baked under a fierce sun, but Tony Thacker’s report from the Bonneville Speed Week was at the opposite end of the meteorological scale – basically, it’s the story of all the great cars he saw parked up in town after days of torrential rain turned the lake into, well, a lake.
