During the first few years of its existence, 4x4’s full title was Overlander 4x4. Now, in response to a changing market, publishers Assignment Media have taken the decision to go back to the magazine’s roots.

Overlander 4x4 continues to be the leading authority on new vehicles from crossover SUVs to hardcore off-road trucks. The feature vehicles that are the staple diet of most enthusiast magazines will be enhanced, with more of an emphasis on expedition builds, and the travel stories it has included from day one will be extended to reflect the vast number of 4x4 owners using their vehicles to seek out adventure.
Our change of name has coincided with an all-new design and paper size, as well as a subtle change of emphasis to reflect the public’s ever-growing interest in the adventure element of off-roading.
This is a strategic move by Assignment Media to make the most of a magazine which remains one of the strongest brands in the enthusiast sector and reach out to the largest untapped audience in the motoring market today.
Since the rebrand to Overlander 4x4, we have seen a surge in interest in the magazine. In the first three months since the title change compared to the three month preceding:
