Let’s banish those blues!

People said 2022 was going to be rough. And how right they were. But despite all the bad news coming at us from seemingly every direction, the Land Rover scene continues to be buoyant. And as always, the response we’ve had to the Great British Land Rover Show, from traders and punters alike, has been phenomenal.

Last year, the show posted its highest ever attendance. This year, it’s looking good to be better than ever. Our big autumn event has become the traditional way of bringing down the curtain on the Land Rover show season, seeing familiar faces one more time before winter and getting great deals on the kit you’ll be bolting to your truck while it’s squirreled away in your garage.

The venue is, as usual, the NAEC in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire. The date is Sunday 20 November. And the event is a festival of all things Land Rover with more to see, and more going on, than ever before!

As always, there’ll be a wide range of trade stands in the exhibition halls

waiting to tempt you with some of the best products on the market. And we’ve reserved a section for the clubs that are the lifeblood of the Landy scene – providing the perfect place to meet old friends after what’s been a long time away.

Our ever-popular off-road course will be in action again, too, once again run and marshalled by the All Wheel Drive Club. And new for this year, there’ll be three levels of difficulty to suit every kind of Land Rover.

Land Rover Experience will be back, too, to offer you the chance for a passenger ride on its unique Terrapod. And also new this year is a kids’ driving course in mini Landies, right next to the main entrance to the show halls.

We’ve got VIP Land Rover parking, too, and visitors will vote for their favourite from every vehicle in this area – with prizes from Paddocks 4x4 for the winners.

The course is suitable for all levels of driver ability and experience. And marshals from the All Wheel Drive Club will be on hand to offer advice and tips on how to drive off-road – as well as helping you out should you be unfortunate enough to become stuck!

Land Rover Experience

With intense inclines, dramatic descents, sideways tilts and more, the Land Rover Experience is all about experiencing our vehicles’ signature capability first hand. After all, where’s the fun in flat?

Be driven round the Land Rover Experience by one of Land Rover’s specialist instructors.

The Dynamic Display Equipment has been designed to showcase the technology and capabilities of all Land Rover products. Each piece of equipment in the portfolio brings its own obstacles and dimensions to your Experience.

The pieces at this event will include: Mini Terrapod 2, Articulating Ramps and Side Slope.

Extreme articulations will enable the vehicles’ suspension systems to extend and traction systems to initiate. Hill climbing ability, Hill Start Assist and Gradient Release Control – allowing the gradual release of the brakes for a composed and controlled descent – are just a few of many features that can be seen during the activity.

On some obstacles, the vehicle is taken through the unit as well as over it.

Advance tickets are only £10 (£15 on the day) and can be purchased at the same time as your half-price advance tickets for entry to the Great British Land Rover Show. Advance booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment and to be able to select your preferred start time around the course.

World-class chassis – and now Richards Chassis is set to make bulkheads too!

Richards Chassis has been at the forefront of replacement Land Rover chassis manufacturing since the company was formed in 1984. All of our

chassis are manufactured in the UK at our own factory near the ‘steel city’ of Sheffield, using locally sourced parts and materials. Over the years we have gathered a huge amount of knowledge

and experience, which has helped us to become the largest manufacturer of aftermarket Land Rover chassis.

We are constantly investing in improving our processes and products –in the last few years we have completely redesigned and rebuilt all of our main assembly jigs and manipulators, and have installed a new fibre laser with a 4m bed. This investment has enabled us to improve both product quality and productivity, allowing us to manufacture up to 50 chassis each week.

We offer a very wide range of chassis, from the very earliest Series Ones to the last of line Defenders, as well as Series 2a/2b Forward Controls and Discovery 2. With our newly revised jigs we also have the ability to fully jig certain ‘custom’ chassis, such as 6x6, and winch challenge chassis, and are happy to work with our customers to develop other bespoke chassis, for example for Land Rover based electric vehicle builds.

Bulkheads

I’m sure many people will be pleased to know that we will very soon be manufacturing bulkheads. We’ve been working closely with our toolmaker for the last two years to develop what we believe will be the best bulkhead on the market – all of the panels are fully

pressed to provide a product which is as accurate as possible to the original with a high degree of precision and repeatability.

We will initially be producing bulkheads for Defender 2.5NA, 200tdi and 300tdi, with further variants coming soon after.
