Play for the challenge, stay for the experience! The award winning 18-hole course was designed by Hurdzan/Fry, Inc., and first opened in 2000. Designer Michael Hurdzan was named Designer of the Year in 2003 by Golf Magazine for his work at The Ledges. Bent Grass Greens, Zoysia Fairways, and Bermuda Rough make up the landscape of the course. Designed with five different tee sets, sculpted greens and fairways, and challenging bunkers, the course offers golfers of all skill levels an outstanding golf experience. The USGA rates the course for a scratch player at 75.3 and handicaps are adjusted via slope rating of 136 which nears the top of the max 155 value. Fitness Center and Swimming Pool
The Fitness Center, open 24/7 for members, overlooks the pool, golf course, and the valley below. It features Paramount machines, free weights, plus Precor treadmills and ellipticals. Televisions are provided in the workout room for member’s enjoyment. Members may schedule personal training sessions with the Club’s exclusive trainer. The resort style swimming pool was designed with an English flavor, with large deck areas, arbors and welldefined formal gardens - all subtly lit for entertaining and special events. The fitness center and swimming pool are located at “The Turn,” a dining area with a stone fireplace and a delightful casual menu, and subsequently marks the halfway point for golfers making the turn. Members can reserve this well-appointed amenity for private parties and outings.
Dining and Member Events
With expansive long range views, the club encompasses a grand hall, a private mens and women’s lounge, two bars, two dining rooms, a large ball room, private meeting rooms, and upper and lower outdoor verandas. The Ledges proudly provides what many say is “the finest dining experience in North Alabama.” The club serves breakfast on Saturday, lunch Tuesday through Sunday, dinner Tuesday through Saturday and a Champagne Sunday Brunch. Huntsville’s premier private club has a very active year-round social calendar which includes Thursday Night Live, Wine Tastings and Dinners, Martinis and Manuscripts Book Club, Scotch and Bourbon Tastings, a variety of supper clubs, couples golf events, business-orientated events, and more.
Membership Classifications The Ledges currently offers several membership options all designed to meet particular interests of our members. Each membership is a family membership which includes the spouse of the primary membership holder and unmarried children under the age of 24 who either live with the member or attend school on a full-time basis.
FULL GOLF MEMBERSHIP - 50% Refundable This membership allows the member use of all facilities provided at The Ledges and admittance to club sponsored events upon payment of the applicable dues, fees and other charges. Golf members shall not pay green fees for the use of golf facilities, but shall pay applicable cart fees. Golf membership dues are all inclusive and include unlimited golf, unlimited use of the driving range, bag storage and USGA handicap. Initiation Fee.......$30,000* (50% refundable per guidelines listed in the membership handbook) Monthly Dues.....$555
FULL GOLF MEMBERSHIP - Non-Refundable A golf membership allows the member use of all facilities provided at The Ledges and admittance to club sponsored events upon payment of the applicable dues, fees and other charges. YOUNG EXECUTIVE GOLF MEMBERSHIP This membership is available to persons between the ages of 21 and 40 and includes the option to convert to another membership classification after the age of 40. NON-RESIDENT GOLF MEMBERSHIP A Non-Resident Golf member must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from The Ledges. SPORT PLUS MEMBERSHIP A Sport Plus Golf membership allows the use of the clubhouse for all dining, banquet and special events plus access to the pool, fitness center and unlimited use of the practice range. Family members 18 and older have the opportunity to play up to 12 rounds of golf per year paying no green fees and only applicable cart fees. After 12 rounds are played, additional golf may be played by paying applicable green fees. Family members under the age of 18 may play unlimited golf. SPORT MEMBERSHIP A Sport Golf membership allows use of the clubhouse for all dining, banquet and special events plus access to the pool, fitness center and unlimited use of the practice range. CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP A corporation may designate an individual of the firm to exercise the use privileges of the chosen membership classification.
