FLOWER POWER!
RHS/Sarah Cuttle
RHS/Chris Bull
RHS/Chris Bull
The Royal Horticultural Society is well known for its annual flower shows, perhaps the most famous being the RHS Chelsea Flower Show which showcases the best in cutting-edge garden design and visionary gardens, inspiring visitors from across the globe. Highlights of this year’s show include a 12,000sq metre marquee, big enough to house 500 London buses, featuring more than 100 exhibits from the world’s best nurseries, growers and florists. A Come to your Senses Eco Garden by Scotts Miracle-Gro aims to tackle over stimulated and sedentary lives of children in the UK by encouraging them to enter their haven of a garden. Environmental issues surrounding bees, a contemporary seashore design and a floral recreation of Rowland Emett’s A Quiet Afternoon in the Cloud Cuckoo Valley are just a few of the gardens going for gold. If you’ve got green fingers, need some expert advice or simply enjoy discovering the extraordinary, the beautiful and the sensory, then there’s an RHS garden or event waiting for you!

A POSTCARD FROM...
Bath
Set in the rolling English countryside and famous for its natural hot springs and Georgian architecture, Bath has been attracting visitors for thousands of years. 19
A POSTCARD FROM...
Follow in the footsteps of the Celts and Romans with time at the Thermae Bath Spa, Britain’s only naturally warm, mineral-rich spa. By day or night, relax in the indoor Minerva Bath and the open-air rooftop pool. With its spectacular views over the city, visitors can enjoy the sun going down or spoil themselves with the Spa’s signature treatment, Watsu, which involves being gently stretched, guided and massaged in the thermal waters of the historic Hot Bath.
The Roman Baths are an absolute must see any time of the year but for an extra special experience during July and August, enjoy the Roman temple complex and treasures by torchlight, followed by a delicious three course dinner at the Roman Baths Kitchen.

With so much stunning architecture and scenery, Bath is a popular location for many famous films; Les Miserables, Poldark, Vanity Fair and Inspector Morse to name a few. Download the free film location map for an Oscar winning walk.
A POSTCARD FROM...
The Botanical Gardens in the Royal Victoria Park were formed in 1887. A replica of a Roman Temple, which was the City’s exhibit at the British Empire Exhibition held in Wembley in 1924, is just one of the fabulous features set within the nine and a half acres of limestone planting.
Take to the skies with a hot air balloon ride offering impressive views of the city and countryside, and experience iconic sights such as the Royal Crescent, or head to the Falconry Experience, just south of the City, to see some of the world’s most majestic birds in flight. After an initial familiarisation, you could be calling your own Hawk from one of three flying locations in this exciting experience lasting 90 minutes.
The Herschel Museum of Astronomy was home to William and Caroline Herschel and is where William discovered the planet Uranus in March 1781. A remarkable feat as he was a self-taught amateur astronomer who built his own telescopes. The Grade II listing building has been restored in the authentic period style and has Dr Brian May as the museum’s patron, like William before him, a musician and an astronomer.

The Fudge Kitchen Shop is fabulous for picking up special gifts to take home and also offers a sticky hands on experience where you can make your own fudge, taste some seriously delicious and devilish samples and take home your own kit for further fudge making.
Bursting with history, the Theatre Royal Bath is one of the oldest and most beautiful theatres in Britain, and with three with three auditoriums, it offers a wonderfully varied programme of top quality entertainment all year round. Photo by Michael Maggs - Theatre Royal, Bath. CC BY-SA 2.5.
