From when you walked into the hotel the service from the staff was second to none. They could not do enough for you. The room was very tastefully decorated and the whirlpool bath and power shower were an added bonus. The meal in the evening was presented perfectly and all courses were divine. The staff again were very attentive. Breakfast was very nice. I would recommend this hotel to stay at but also just for a meal (the mussels were to die for). I will definitely be visiting again. I would recommend this hotel to a friend and have done so already and I’ve only been back 2 hours!

Rooms from

£80

Adamo is situated in Henderson Street, which is the main thoroughfare through the town. The hotel has been totally refurbished since I used to frequent the hotel when it was The Queens. Excellent staff with an easy check-in and an upgraded room which was facing the street. The room was chic and spacious. Good shower with extra water jets - very nice. We had a walk around Bridge of Allan and visited many of the quaint shops which was relaxing. A return to Adamo saw us in the bar, where again excellent staff who identified us as being residents put our afternoon drinks on the room, without being asked. We had an excellent dinner, with excellent wine in a very chilled atmosphere, with first class service. A good sleep and not too noisy, breakfast was just as good as dinner, with nothing any trouble for the staff - Fresh Salmon Omelette & Toast - no complaints there! I am sure we will be back!

A wonderful experience. The hosts were friendly, welcoming; everything you could ask for. The rooms are a delight to stay in. With extra blankets, big soft pillows, not those horrid thin things you get in some hotels, a good night’s sleep should be guaranteed. And the breakfast just hits the spot, and such a variety of things too. A truly lovely place. And very reasonably priced too. We will be going back again.

Very good price. Only 15min walk to town centre. Plenty of parking. Helpful manager. Information book in the room, that included taxi numbers, local attractions, buses and where to catch them from etc etc. Was right on a High Street, but quiet. Clean and tidy. Was very impressed, was worried that it was too cheap to be true.

Amazing tales from Infotel Solutions CEO round the world trip

Ann Cordner Infotel Solutions CEO

The Retired & Crazy Epic Adventure Overland from London to New York

On 27th March 2011 Ann Cordner began mounting the steps of a coach which is set to travel through Europe into Moscow and across Russia into China, over the Paciffic through Canada across America and finally back to the UK. Described as her ‘epic adventure over land from London to New York’, the 87 day trip began on Sunday March 27th at Cleopatras Needle where she took her seat on the Oz Bus, a company dedicated to providing wonderful adventurous travel to destinations such as Australia, Beijing, Bangkok, Africa, South America and in Ann’s case - New York USA. But how and why would someone decide to do such a thing? Ann explains; “The madness started when my friend mentioned that she knew a guy who was on an "Ozbus" trip and writing a blog. I read the blog, thought, ‘I could do that’ and then made the most stupid mistake of my life. I started telling people that I was going. Before I knew what was happening I had paid my deposit, met Nick (the blog writer), ordered a rucksack, arranged my vaccinations and committed myself to three months of craziness”.

ANOTHER DAY IN THE BIG APPLE The weather here isn't great so I bought a brolly yesterday morning, lost it yesterday afternoon! Wow! That’s a record even for me. I went back to the café where I left it, but it had gone. New Yorkers make me laugh. They don’t stand on ceremony. Say it like it is. "I left my umbrella behind, did anyone hand it in?" “Nah!” No sympathy, no eye contact, no interest. Funny. Talking about leaving things behind, I left one of my bags on the Green Tortoise! In the rush to get off in the busy New York Street I completely forgot about it. Remembering my instructions I rang 1 800 green tortoise to tell them not to worry because it was full of rubbish to be thrown away. They said that Sully had it and would bring it to the meeting place that night, which he did. Above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks Sully.

Problem! The entry we took was for metro ticket holders only and Margaret didn't have one. She suggested that I walk through with my metro card and pass it back to her (a born criminal). Problem! It wouldn’t let us do that! They had obviously thought through this little wheeze! So on to Plan B. Take the train to Greenwich, Connecticut where Margaret and other ‘A’ listers of note live and/or play, chosen for its beauty and close proximity to the city. This time there was no problem. I had no idea that Greenwich was so beautiful. . We took a boat over to a small island, met some of Margaret’s card playing friends, listened to the jazz band, caught the boat back, had a meal in the Takeaway Café which, again, is frequented by ‘A’ listers. Another great day.

HOT, HOT, HOT New York sure is hot in the summer. Apart from a couple of days of showers when I first arrived it has been steamy with temperatures in the high 80's and even the 90’s. Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Sometimes when I walk by a shop I can feel the cool air and walk in just for a chill down. Clever people! Thunder storms were forecast for last night, but it didn’t happen. Yesterday I moved out of the hostel into the Hotel Newton on Broadway between 95th and 94th Street. It’s a bit far out, but 96th Street subway is just outside the door so it’s easy to get around. I then took the subway down to Fulton Street and queued for cut price tickets for Margaret and I to see Priscilla (recommended by my good friend Sirin) on Broadway this afternoon and then we are going to take a second stab at going to the gospel church in Harlem.

FUN IN THE SUN It was a long, very hot day yesterday. I caught the subway to 42nd Street, walked across to Grand Central, had a juice drink in the dining concourse that my good friend Jean had introduced me to last year, met up with Margaret and went for brunch on the way to the Theatre.

What can I say about Priscilla apart from the fact that it's the best show I have ever seen. Big production numbers like "It’s Raining Men", “What’s Love Got to Do With It”, “Material Girl” etc. etc., amazing costumes and brilliant action. We laughed and sang from beginning to end. A-maz-ing. Then on the subway again to 135th Street, a short walk up to 138th Street where the church is, dinner in a local diner and – showtime. When the service first started I thought it was a little tame and not as uplifting as I would have hoped, but after about 20 minutes the choir walked in, front centre, and starting singing. Wow! Wow! Wow! It was all you would expect this type of service to be.

FAMILY REUNION In the bosom of some of my family again at last! Nothing like being with family is there? It was so good to be with Georgina and Kimberley again. We have been having massive catch up sessions. Snippets remembered here, incidents remembered there – as they came to us. Brilliant. After unwinding we went to a bar over the road for happy hour. Very happy hour! The girls were in bed by 7.30 pm! Yesterday we went on a walking photographic tour of Greenwich Village which was very informative and interesting but will still not make me into the amazing photographer that I wish I could be! Georgina managed to get my camera GPS working, which was good, but we still can't transfer the GPS info onto the computer. Luke, where are you when we need you? We then went to the observations window overlooking the new WTC2 (ground zero) and looked into the reflective pools that stand in the footprint of the two original buildings. They are due to inaugurate these pools 11th September to commemorate the 10th anniversary. The new 106 floor building should be finished by this time next year. I think that it is going to be absolutely stunning and a fitting tribute to the victims of this terrible tragedy.

OVER HALFWAY THROUGH THE VOYAGE HOME I had been looking forward to this voyage for two reasons. 1. It would be restful and 2. I could enjoy sitting in the sun. I hadn't quite thought these two things through though. After being on the Diamond Princess I should have realised that a cruise is like being in hospital, anything BUT restful! And the clue to my second reason should have been in the fact that we are travelling in the NORTH Atlantic i.e. not much sun! Ah well! So, my day starts racing the clock, getting a cup of tea and some fruit and yoghurt before the first lecture of the day starts at 10.00 am. This is followed by another 2/3 lectures throughout the day and a trip to the "only Planetarium at sea". In between times I have to fit in lunch and dinner and then on to the evening show. By 10.00 pm I am pretty bushed but just manage to stagger up to the 24/7 buffet for a glass of lemonade and my evening snack.

Mission Accomplished 21 July

Spalding, UK I did it! I went around the world without flying, travelling from London via New York from East to West. On 27th March I met up with 22 "Oz-Bus" fellow travellers at the start of an amazing journey through Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, Siberia, Mongolia, China, across the Pacific to Alaska, then through Canada to USA and New York where I said farewell to my friends to undertake the last leg of my journey alone on a Cruise Liner across the North Atlantic, arriving home on 13th July. What this travel blog will not and cannot say is the “warts and all” inside story of the trip which, I know, everyone is waiting for me to tell. Well that’s for me to know and you to find out! What takes place on the OzBus stays on the Oz-Bus. Suffice to say we did have our moments of “high drama”! However, I will say that the whole experience was challenging, exhilarating and sometimes exhausting but one that I’ll be forever grateful that I experienced. I was sometimes exhausted, elated, angry, but never, never bored. What is more important is that I met some fantastic people, some of whom I would like to consider as my friends. I am always being asked what the “highlights” of the trip were. Strangely enough not the obvious things like Red Square, Siberian Express, Great Wall of China, Terracotta Warriors, Beijing Olympic Stadium, Niagara Falls, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Woodstock, Sleepy Hollow etc, etc . All stunning but, strangely enough, many of the highlights were quite ordinary things like: Jono holding my hand to stop me falling when we walked back across very, very thin, and very, very slippery ice from Olkhon Island on Lake Biakal; laughing with Jonny, Sirin and Jono while playing bingo on the Diamond Princess; the strangely comfortable feeling that I felt re-joining my Green Tortoise companions after a day out in Seattle with Jack & Betsy; the surreal feeling of going to a blues club in Chicago, a thing that I had never expected to do.

City Warehouse Manchester joined Infotel for ÂŁ530 + VAT

and gained...

4800% business received in less than half a year

City Warehouse Apartments Manchester Infotel has been a great find for our business. In terms of service, system use and value for money, they are way ahead of the other booking agents we use. Other, larger agents give us good levels of business, but the service is often poor, and the cost is high. The annual fee we paid to Infotel 5 months ago has given us a return of around 4800% so far in terms of business received, which is incredible. We have recently linked their system to our own website too, and as a result we are seeing this increase further. These guys are good and I can't recommend them highly enough!"
