I love meeting people, all sorts of people. Q: What is the most rewarding thing about working in this industry?
You don’t always get feedback but the guests who do give feedback make the difference. We get a lot of repeat business and I really enjoy knowing the clients and their requirements. Q: What attracted you to the leisure industry?
Years ago, I worked in London which then developed to an Area Manager role.
Q: What’s the best piece of career advise you have been given?
“Just be honest, it’s the best policy.” Q: Can you name one thing not many people know about you?
Not many people know that I actually went to Boarding School. Q: What is your favourite holiday destination and why?
The most exciting and memorable place I have been was Niagra Falls, I was quite amazed with how loud the water is! Q: What one word best describes you?
Unpredictable Q: What is your favourite colour?
There was lots travelling involved which Black I eventually realised wasn’t for me. I knew the owners of the hotel and they offered me a more suitable role. The industry found me! Q: What are the worst things about your job?
Dealing with abusive people isn’t fun! Some have too much to drink which can result in us asking them to leave. It can be become very uncomfortable when it causes disruptions for the other guests.
