What attracted you to the leisure industry?

I fell into it really. Years ago, my mum used to work at a lovely family run hotel in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. When I was 15 I asked my Mum if she could get me a job there. I started in the kitchen, working up to front of house. Whilst I was studying I remained in the hospitality and catering and exceeded in everything.

At a previous hotel I worked in, a speaker at a guests wedding was Victor Meldrew actor Richard Wilson who was a close friend of the wedding group. Myself and some other members of staff were doing our best ever Meldrew impressions stating “I do not believe it”. After doing my best impression, I turned around to see him directly in front of me clearly hearing my words. I must say, I certainly did not believe it at that point. What do you love most about your job?

Freedom of running your own business and the rewards that follow. Always a learning curve by turning negatives into positives. When I was a child I wanted to be .....
