Park Beautification Activity on Saturday, October 16th, 2020

Our Sisters took part in the clean-up of the Arundel Village Park and Farring-Baybrook Recreation Center fields located at 4300 W. Bay Avenue, Brooklyn, Maryland 21225 from 8:45am to Noon. In our efforts we gathered approximately 30-40 bags of trash and plant approximately 15 trees. We had the fortunate opportunity to meet the Mayor and City council member of Brooklyn, Maryland. This project gave the community and neighboring communities the opportunity to enjoy a safe and clean location to host festivals and activities, exercise, and just simply play.

Trunk or Treat on October 31, 2020

In a Partnership with the Turner’s Station Recreation Council, we co-sponsored this activity and developed a community relationship with the members of this council. In the parking lot of the Sollers Point Recreation Center - located at 323 Sollers Point Road, Dundalk, Maryland 21222 from 4pm to 8pm - our Brothers and Sisters decorated their vehicles (7) with multiple Halloween themes and gave out approximately 50 bags of candy and books to parents and children of the community. It was a fun and joyful experience with the kids as we admired the creativity of the kid’s costumes.

November

Thanksgiving Baskets on November 21, 2021

Our chapter provided 4 Thanksgiving Baskets decorated and wrapped in Thanksgiving Bee theme to represent and signature our mascot the “Maggie Bee”. Our red oak wooden crates consisted of one turkey, one ham, $100 Visa Gift card, a game or coloring activity for the kids, mini candies (Hershey & butterscotch), and a card to show that we care about our families. Our Brothers and Sisters banded together in approximately 10 cars to surprise our families with their gifts and pictures. The many laughs and moments are beyond compare! Our 4 families are those in our communities from Dundalk, MD, Middle River, MD, and Baltimore, MD who made it out of multiple shelters and into their own homes, have disabled family members, and just simply needed to physically see that some people do care in the community.
