Makeup is one of the first things a bride thinks of before her wedding, so we’re very happy to introduce Sandra De Gaetano, a professional makeup artist whose personality and ambition have led her to working as makeup artist for bridal makeup and film.

With over 10 years of experience, Sandra’sonly purpose is to empower others. Her passion and drive for this creative life has seen her work featured in international magazines Vogue (UK & Italia), Ellemente (New York), Salyse (New York) magazine, plus several well-knownlocal magazines.

In 2017 being nominated best makeup artist in Malta, encouraged her to specialisefurther; in advanced hair and makeup at one of the world’s most prestigious make up academies, Iver Academy in London, at Pinewood Studios.

During thisadvanced training programme Sandra also trained as an Airbrush Make Up Artist, and while living in London, she was approached by an award-winning wedding photographer to model and also do make up for aninternational bridal dress designer,Morgan Davies.

The photos were launched as the designer’s new bridal collection. “It was possibly the most amazing exciting experience I ever had”, she says.

Sandra now works in both Malta and UK for wedding make up. She is also offering courses to clients who wish to learn how to do their makeup, where she will be giving all the latest tips.

As light as air

Airbrush makeup is light-weight. It is sprayed on the skin using an air gun machine, and produces a thin, even layer of makeup with a matte finish. Airbrush foundation is high in coverage but extremely light in texture, resulting in a natural but flawless-looking skin using minimum product.

It leaves no visible brush strokes and it is virtually invisible both on-screen and to the naked eye; regardless of the lighting conditions. That is why it’s one of the preferred makeup methods for high-definition film, bridal, photography and television.

It is a perfect option if you’d like to have great makeup coverage without looking as if you’re wearing too much makeup. It’s so lightweight it feels like you don’t have any makeup on.

Airbrushing is so popular because skin looks flawless yet natural. It is non-transferable, water- resistant, photographs beautifully, and can give you as little or as much coverage as you’d like. It is also the best choice for sensitive skin, and to wear in very hot weather, as it is more long lasting than a normal application of makeup.
