DIRECTORS SETH BOWLING
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR & VIDEO PRODUCER
Seth moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry and attend The Master’s University, where he earned a B.A. in Communication. Some of his recent credits as an actor include a lead role in a feature film opposite Nick Searcy and a supporting role in a feature film produced by Universal. Seth also works full-time as a stunt performer and camera operator on various productions that include television shows, commercials, and music videos. Seth performed in two productions with TMU Theatre Arts while a student: Nick Cristano in the fall 2017 revival production of “Over the River and Through the Woods,” and Henry Tilney in “Northanger Abbey.” Now as an assistant director, he is thankful for the opportunity to give back to the current students what he learned through this program and his time in the industry. He is excited to work in this capacity alongside the cast and crew to display God’s glory both on and off the stage. You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. — Psalm 16:11
TRICIA HULET
DIRECTOR OF TMU THEATRE ARTS
Tricia received her M.A. and B.A. Biblical Counseling degrees from The Master’s College and is an ACBC certified counselor. While at TMC, she minored in music, studied voice, and was extensively involved in musical theatre. She has performed in over a dozen plays and musicals, including the leading roles of Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof” and Mary Lennox in “The Secret Garden.” Tricia first began directing theatre in 2004 for a Christian high school before reviving the theatre arts program at Master’s in 2008. She has directed and produced more than twenty full-length plays and musicals and dozens of concerts and events. Through her lifelong experience in the arts, theological training in understanding human nature, and a commitment to the sufficiency and authority of Scripture, the Lord has given her a passion to pursue excellent storytelling and develop a biblical worldview of the performing arts. Helping students learn and own this philosophy is life-giving. Tricia and her husband, Dave, met at TMC as students, and they count it a joy to have served together in ministry since 2002. To the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. — Jude 25
TMU Theatre Arts is a co-curricular program housed in the Communication Department. It is designed to give training and expression in the performing arts alongside any major at the University. Participants and contributors come from all disciplines, dorms, and interests at TMU. Our program offers classes such as Theatre Arts, Theatre Production, and Introduction to Acting, allowing any students to receive formal, credited training in the performing arts. We instill students with a biblical philosophy of the performing arts while giving them experience in the craft of acting and/or the many aspects of production. We emphasize the process as much as the product, which enables us to have an others-focused theatre program. This mindset pervades everything we do as we strive together to serve with our varied gifts. Many of our graduates have continued on to jobs in the arts industry or teaching, and some have pursued graduate school. We love seeing the various ways they use their skills and become gospel witnesses. Through them, we continually see how the Lord can use even a school play in eternally significant ways. Lives are changed, theology of art is developed, attitudes & perspectives are altered, and love for the Lord and each other keeps growing. Opportunities to be involved include acting, stage managing, lighting, sound, production design, video production & social media marketing, costuming, makeup, hospitality & cast services, set building and stage crew. We are excited to see how God continues to grow the program as those involved seek to serve and honor Him first and foremost. As always, our goal is to offer quality productions as a gift to the audience without ever compromising who we are as children of God.
PARTNER WITH US If you would like to be a part of the growth and development of this program, we would love to talk with you. Whether you are an individual who would like to give to the program, or you have a business with resources that could help support us, there are many opportunities to help. We have needs in the areas of technical gear and production equipment as well as regular financial support. Your support could be a part of meeting some of these needs. Please consider joining us as we strive to produce theater that brings honor and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
