SHEFFIELD CHILDRENʼS FESTIVAL BRINGS YOU FUNNY BONES Festival and Danceworks UK presents Funny Bones, a fantastic double bill of interactive, contemporary dance at Sheffield City Hall Ball Room, Barkers Pool on Tuesday 15 June at 11am and 5.45pm. The 2010 Sheffield Children’s Festival has been created by children for children, with the support of Sheffield City Council and sponsors Vinci Education. It runs from 12 June to 3 July and is jam packed with more

than 50 events, performances and exhibitions taking place across the city. Join Funny Bones in DanSence and Go! This two-part 50 minute performance explores themes of sport, and the 5 senses, incorporating unusual costumes, amusing props, original music and splashes of water… be warned, you could get wet. Supported by DanceXchange (the National Dance Agency for Birmingham & the West Midlands) and the City Hall, Funny

Bones is for children of 5 upwards and the whole family to enjoy. Cllr Roger Davison, Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport, Tourism and City Centre events said: “We are delighted that Funny Bones are featuring in the 2010 Children’s Festival. Danceworks UK are very supportive of the Sheffield bid for City of Culture in 2013 and this is an excellent way to showcase the creativity, talent, and energy enjoyed by Sheffielders.” Danceworks Artistic

Director Annabel Dunbar Said “We are delighted to join forces with Sheffield Children’s Festival for a second year and round off the Danceworks Spring 10 season with a cheeky show for the young, their friends and families. I can’t wait for people to see this show in the sumptuous surroundings of the City Hall Ballroom what a treat!” Sheffield Children’s Festival Programmes are available from Libraries and Arts venues or to get a copy please
