International superstar Lionel Richie has announced Corinne Bailey Rae as special guest on his UK tour this Summer. Corinne Bailey Rae performed last month at the Grammy MusiCares Tribute concert honouring Lionel Richie as their ‘Performer Of The Year’, alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, Dave Grohl, John Legend, Rihanna and Florence Welch. Starting on June 14th, Lionel will perform open air concerts in parts of the UK he’s never visited before including St Austell, Swansea, Colwyn Bay, Colchester and Gloucester as well as shows in , Shefﬁeld, Manchester, London and Birmingham. Lionel’s concerts are world-renowned for their party atmosphere and audiences will be able to join Lionel in singing along to all the hits from his extensive and much loved repertoire spanning dec-ades – all the way from the Commodores to the present day – including classics such as ‘Hello’, ‘Easy’, ‘Dancing On The Ceiling,’ ‘Say You Say Me’, ‘Three Times a Lady’ and ‘All Night Long’. VIRGIN MEDIA, SHEFFIELD, UP THE FUNDRAISING FACTOR FOR SPORT RELIEF Virgin Media, Shefﬁeld, will be volunteering to receive donation calls from the public for Sport Relief 2016 on Friday 18th March as part of Virgin Media’s long standing commitment to give back to our customers and the communities we are part of. The call centre team are also proud to be joining the nation in the fun and games themselves, all in the name of charity. The team of 70 volunteers at Virgin Media’s site in Shefﬁeld are getting creative and

showing their support with a variety of fun activities including a bug eating challenge, office sports and lip sync battles. Alongside taking calls, the team will be hosting an evening of entertainment with food and drink donated by the local community, a caricaturist, bingo and much more. In 2014 over 80 call centres including, Sheffield, supported Sport Relief helping to raise cash to give vulnerable and disadvantaged people a helping hand to turn their lives around. Regional Director for the North East and Yorkshire, Karen Ingham, said, “We are thrilled to be part of Sport Relief again this year and it’s great to see the team at Sheffield getting involved. We feel privileged to support Sport Relief in addition to our other charitable activity.” Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get

active, raise cash and change lives. Half of all the money the public raise is spent by Comic Relief right here at home in the UK, with the other half used to make a difference in the world’s poorest communities. Since 2002, Sport Relief has raised over £262 million. Sport Relief 2016 is going to be the biggest and best yet, with more ways than ever for everyone to take part, change lives and feel proud.

£1.95, a Plate Salad is from only £2.50, Jacket Potatoes are from £3.50, Sandwiches from just £3.45 and Main Meals are from only £4.95 for hand battered Fish and Chips. Burgers are from just £4.95 and are served in a ﬂoured bun with lettuce and fresh tomato and include chips, onion rings and coleslaw – great value. Their steaks range from Gammon at just £4.95 and range up to the sumptuous New Inn Grill. Served with a 5 ounce rump steak, chicken breast, sausage, gammon steak, not one but two fried eggs, chips, grilled tomato, onion rings and garden peas, this is a meal for large appetites and great value for only £11.50. Then if you have room, diners can round of with a range of desserts from only £2.99 to £4.99. The New Inn is open for breakfast from 10.00am on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and their Sunday Carveries are served from 12pm to 5pm. SHEFFIELD CARING FOR CARERS AWARDS 2016 Has someone from health, social care, a home care agency, or a voluntary or community organisation supported you in your role as a carer? Perhaps a nurse, doctor, consultant, social worker, therapist, care worker or volunteer? They may have been helping the person you care for, but they’ve still gone that extra mile to support you, too. If so, this is your chance to say “thank you” by nominating them for a Caring for Carers award from Sheffield Carers Centre. Sheffield Carers Centre would be pleased to hear from any carer who thinks a health and social care professional who has helped them deserves particular recognition. Anyone who receives an award is given a certificate to display to help spread the word that carers need support too! Previous awards have shown how much carers valued the help and support of some of the many professionals they come into contact with. Previous award winners have included a community psychiatric nurse, care workers, GPs, a carer support worker, a herbalist and a Consultant. The overall project aims to transform 1.2 kilometres of redundant roads into attractive new linear public spaces, improving the links between the Riverside Business District and the rest of the city centre. It includes innovative perennial meadows, an interlinked sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS), rain gardens, public art and high quality paved footways and street furniture. The scheme has also been designed to improve the environment, making it easier to walk and cycle. The completed Phase 1 comprises around 0.5 km. Five eye catching art features have been added to provide instant new landmarks and to reveal some of the area’s colourful and unexpected history and associations. The art works resemble modern totem poles and each one is 4.2 metres high. They are made from stone and metal, and incorporate local stories together with eye-catching mirror and lighting effects. Councillor Leigh Bramall, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Business, Skills and Development said: “Trees, shrubs and wild ﬂowers will be planted to complement the new artwork features and provide the ﬁnishing touches to enhance this project in the Riverside area.

“The project will create an attractive setting for existing and new investment and jobs, an improvement in the city’s resilience to climate change as well as an enhanced public realm and connectivity of the area with the rest of the city centre. “It also shows off new forms of partnership with the University of Sheffield by sharing expertise to solve problems in an innovative way. “We are very grateful for the European Regional Development Fund and Sheffield City Region Investment Fund funding for this scheme that will contribute greatly towards the regeneration of this historic part of the city.” Sheffield City Council in partnership with the University of Sheffield Landscape School, Amey and Robert Bray Associates have worked together to design and radically improve what has been dubbed the first phase of the Grey to Green Corridor. The aim was to enhance the environment and reduce barriers between the Riverside Business District, Castlegate and the rest of the city centre and then on to Kelham Island and Victoria Quays.

The improvements will create a high quality setting for a number of key development sites in the area particularly at West Bar and Exchange Place. Phase 1 of the scheme started in April 2015 and cost £3.4 million using funding from the new Sheffield City Region Investment Fund (SCRIF) - the first project to be funded from this pot - and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). This is aimed at unlocking key strategic urban gateways and supporting urban economic infrastructure. The SUDS work in Phase 1 is the longest retro-fit urban drainage scheme of its kind in the UK. An increase in tree street cover and shade will also offset the increasing heat island effect of climate change. Professor Nigel Dunnett, of the Department of Landscape at the University of Sheffield, who designed the spectacular meadows at London’s Olympic Park, said: “The Grey to Green project in Sheffield’s Riverside District is one of the most ambitious and visionary urban landscape projects in the country, further boosting Sheffield’s credentials as a green city. “We are proud to bring our support and technical expertise to help make this a truly ground-breaking example to other cities in the UK, whilst also providing exciting opportunities for our students to become involved with real-life innovative and cutting-edge planning and design projects.”

DAUGHTER DONS CANCER CHARITY VEST IN MEMORY OF DAD

A determined daughter from Sheffield is striding out at this year’s Plusnet Yorkshire Half Marathon to remember her beloved dad who lost his battle with cancer in February. Emma Sheehan (23) from Crosspool, Sheffield will take part in the 13 mile race through the streets of Sheffield on the 10th April after losing her dad to cancer just under a month ago. In a bid to raise funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, Emma signed up to the event back in 2015, unaware that by the time the day came around, her dad would no longer be with them. After being diagnosed with bowel and peritoneal cancer in June 2015, Emma’s dad, Dave Sheehan (56) received Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatment at Weston Park Hospital- the region’s only cancer hospital. But after several infections and stays in hospital over the last few months, Emma’s family were given the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done for Dave and he passed away at the end of February surrounded by his loving family. “It’s been an incredibly difficult few months. “ Said Emma, “We are all still coming to terms with the loss of my dad and the huge void he has left, particularly for me, my mum and my elder sister, Aimee.” “Back in June 2015 when he was first diagnosed, I knew that I had to do something to raise money in support of this incredible hospital that had looked after us all so well. I signed up for The Plusnet Half Marathon and vowed to raise money for the place which had

extended dad’s life so that we were able to spend those precious final months with him.” Emma continued, “I know he’d have been so proud of me on the day when I reach the finish line and the more money I can raise beforehand will allow other families living with a cancer diagnosis to receive the support and care they so desperately need.” “I not only fully appreciate the research that helps treat so many patients, but the support for my dad by the nurses at Weston Park Hospital was priceless- sometimes no words can offer comfort like the gesture of a cuppa and biscuit!” Emma will join thousands of people taking part in the first Plusnet Yorkshire Half MarathonSheffield, which starts and finishes in the city centre and follows a scenic route offering outstanding views of the Peak district. The cancer charity is encouraging supporters to sign up for the event and join ‘Team Weston Park’ with each runner raising vital sponsorship to support lifechanging projects within Weston Park Hospital. Charity Fundraising Manager, Sarah Cross said, “It’s incredibly brave of Emma to continue her fundraising efforts for us despite losing her Dad only a few weeks ago.” “We would like to wish her the very best on the day and our Team Weston Park cheering squad will undoubtedly be cheering her on, loud and proud, from the sidelines.’” “Emma has raised such a fantastic amount already which will help

support other cancer patients and their families going through similar challenges now and in the future.” Emma has now raised over £1,000 on her JustGiving site and has further donations to add to her total after a collection for the cancer charity was organised at Dave’s funeral. 28th May 2016. Put that in your diary as this year’s Slam Dunk Festival 2016 seems to be the biggest and best one day event on the entire summer’s calendar. Sprawling across Leeds City Centre in spectacular fashion, the full line-up has only just been announced with heap loads of ridiculously exciting performances across the day. So what are you waiting for…book your tickets today! Slam Dunk has quickly become one of the most important annual events within the festival circuit. Bringing together the finest acts from alternative rock, punk, hardcore and pretty much everything else in between, the touring fest will also play stages in Hatfield and Birmingham across the may bank holiday weekend. Having had the absolute pleasure of attending the event for the last four years, we can safely say that this year is by far their most explosive line-up to date. So…to the headliners. With five gigantic studio albums to their name along with a plethora of awards to include MTV accolades, TMF Awards and a range of Grammy Nominations, Panic At The Disco are certified headliners at Slam Dunk 2016. Their debut album, “A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out” was named double platinum in 2006 and has gone onto sell millions of copies across the world. Having played on some of the most infamous stages of rock across continents, Brendan Urie and co are guaranteed to transport you back to the golden days of far too much black eye-liner and that o’h so attractive sweeping fringe you sported for a while. Along with Panic At The Disco, New Found Glory have also been announced for Slam Dunk 2016. The undeniable kings of pop punk, these US rockers have been described as having one of the biggest cult followings in current music. Well known for their exceptional live performances, the group are no strangers to UK festivals, having graced the main stage at Leeds and Reading alongside Download Festival on a number of occasions. With hits to include “My Friends Over You,” “Hit Or Miss” and

“Radio Surgery,” take it from us that this is going to be awesome. UK alternative pack and rising stars within the international music industry, Mallory Knox are also joining the Slam Dunk line-up. Without a doubt one of the most hard working groups in British rock, the band have found fame with their ridiculously catchy repertoire and explosive live shows. Following their hit run on Broadway, masters of British theatre Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart are to return to the UK stage in Harold Pinter’s masterpiece, No Man’s Land which opens its UK tour at the Lyceum Theatre from Wednesday 3 – Saturday 13 August, prior to a strictly limited West End run. One summer’s evening, two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, meet in a Hampstead pub and continue their drinking into the night at Hirst’s stately house nearby. As the pair become increasingly inebriated, and their stories increasingly unbelievable, the lively conversation soon turns into a revealing power game, further complicated by the return home of two sinister younger men. Directed by Sean Mathias, this production of No Man’s Land received highly acclaimed reviews at the Cort Theatre in New York whilst in repertory alongside Waiting for Godot, also starring stage and screen friends, McKellen and Stewart and directed by Mathias. The production of Waiting for Godot had transferred from London where it celebrated a sell-out run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, the last time these masters of British theatre shared a West End stage. Multi award-winning Ian McKellen plays Spooner. He has had a 55 year long career on stage and on screen. For the Royal Shakespeare Company he has played Romeo, Macbeth, Iago and King Lear and at the National Theatre, in productions of Coriolanus, Richard III, Uncle Vanya and The Seagull. He gained his ﬁrst Oscar nomination for Gods and Monsters and his second for Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He is Magneto to Patrick Stewart’s Xavier in the X-Men movies, Richard III and most recently Mr Holmes. Multi award-winning Patrick Stewart plays Hirst. He has numerous notable stage credits to his name including Anthony and Cleopatra, The Tempest,

Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, The Master Builder and his acclaimed solo adaptation of A Christmas Carol. Known world-wide as Captain Jean Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor X in the X-Men franchise, his additional film and TV credits include the 2009 TV movie adaptation of Hamlet alongside David Tennant, Ahab in Moby Dick, Ricky Gervais’ Extras, the new US comedy series, soon to be seen on UK TV, Blunt Talk, the soon to be released thriller Green Room as well as Wilde Wedding with Glenn Close and John Malkovich. Ian McKellen commented: Playing Spooner to Patrick’s Hirst on Broadway was a constant joy, which is why I am delighted to be back with him. I love touring. It goes back to my youth. If you were brought up as I was in south Lancashire, there were local theatres doing plays but it was at the touring theatres in Manchester and Liverpool that I saw the leading actors of my youth. It’s not so common now but I think it’s so important. Actors are rogues and vagabonds, we should be on the road. And the welcome is always magnificent, people really appreciate it that you’ve come to their region. Patrick Stewart says: Sheffield is very important to me, because it was at the old Sheffield Rep that I got my first full acting job. I’d been an ASM at Lincoln, and then I got a call from Sheffield. I think I played the boyfriend in The Reluctant Debutant. I had a hairpiece. It was lovely. And I know the Lyceum as the location where I saw most of the pantomimes of my teenage years. CRACKIN’ RIGHT FOOT LIVE REVIEW CRACKIN’ RIGHT FOOT CHURCH HOUSE, SHEFFIELD 12th March 2016 Words & Pics by Roy Goodall

SHOE-HORNED into a corner and eager to please, this Chesterfield foursome cracked off their lengthy Sheffield set in fine fettle with guns a blazing and opening with The Strokes hit Last Night followed very quickly with The Beatles classic Day Tripper. Over the course of the evening we flirted across the musical spectrum as hits by Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, and The Kinks morphed nicely with The Killers, The Rocker by Thin Lizzy and A Thing Called Love by The Darkness. Although again we had poor lighting, it didn’t seem to bother the band as they ploughed on regardless. I know costs are always involved but more light bulbs at the venue would have been good for both band and audience alike. Opening up part two with The White Stripes hit Seven Nation Army and The Rolling Stones tune Satisfaction kept the attentive crowd happy, with drummer Baz Rayner pounding away on the tubs

with bassist Rob Williams keeping things on an even keel. Many people don’t grasp that these two elements keep a band rocking which Crackin’ Right Foot know as they’ve have been doing this a long time now and play the game well. Although space was of a premium this likable Sheffield venue did show good support and respect with frontman Aaron Brown singing and sweating his little heart out and showed great confidence, more so than our last encounter. To be honest, I’ve seen far less displayed from named arena filling acts. The riff master on guitar Rob Goodwin held his cool too, even when there was a malfunction with his tackle and Aaron had an issue with his mike stand. The key is to carry on regardless and collectively they all skilfully filed the void with Aaron adding some nice adlibs. With show-time over and the crowd displaying encouraging noises it was time to move on. If live music is your thing, and it must be if you’ve read this, then I firmly suggest you start at grassroots level. These rock bands really do work and for very little financially reward with gangs like Crackin’ Right Foot firmly having their toes well and truly on the fast peddle.

AA HIGHLIGHTS STEALTH TAX ON MOTORISTS Almost three quarters (72%) of drivers are unaware that they have to pay tax for breakdown cover. They will view any reported increase in Insurance Premium Tax in Wednesday’s Budget as a stealth tax, according to the AA. Whilst much attention has been made about predicted hikes in Insurance Premium Tax which will affect motor and home insurance policies, little thought has been given to the millions of drivers who could take a double hit as their breakdown cover is also hiked. In an AA Populus survey of almost 30,000 drivers* when the last IPT increase was announced: • Only 28% knew IPT is levied on breakdown cover. 72% didn’t know this. • 71% knew IPT is levied on car and home insurance • 87% felt more expensive vehicle insurance encourages people to drive uninsured

FALL IN ROAD OFFENCES LINKED TO POLICE CUTS A decline in motoring offences in England and Wales over the past decade could be due to cuts in the number of specialist road police officers, MPs claim. The Transport Select Committee suggests the fall from 4.3 million in 2004 to 1.6 million in 2013 may not be down to an improvement in driving standards. It points to specialised road policing officer numbers, which have plummeted from 7,104 in 2005 to 4,356 in 2014. “The RAC welcomes the findings of the Transport Select Committee’s report,” says RAC head of external affairs Pete Williams. “The sharp decline in roads policing officers something the RAC highlighted over a year ago - appears to be having the very unwelcome effect of leading to fewer people being caught for illegal activity. It stands to reason that if a law exists, it needs to be enforced effectively. “While the priorities for policing are a matter for

The Audi R8 is up against the Honda Civic Type R and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe in the World Performance Car category, while the Chevrolet Volt, hydrogen-powered Toyota Mirai and all-new Toyota Prius will battle it out in the World Green Car segment. Elsewhere, the World Luxury Car class is between the Audi Q7 SUV, BMW 7 Series and the Volvo XC90, and the World Car Design category sees the British-built Jaguar XE, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda MX-5 up against each other. It is proving to be a good year for the Mazda MX-5, which narrowly lost out to the Vauxhall Astra in the recent European Car of the Year awards. Edmund King, AA president, said: “Whilst there has been much speculation about whether the Chancellor will increase fuel duty on Wednesday it appears that drivers could be hit even harder by increased stealth taxes on breakdown cover and car insurance. “Almost three quarters of drivers don’t realise that breakdown cover is regarded as insurance and is taxed in this way. It is completely unreasonable that the Chancellor sees motorists as an easy target by hiking taxes for drivers who are doing the right thing to protect themselves and their families in the event of a breakdown. I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I had joined a new club, and found a new venue; so far, it’s not going well…. I’ve had three sessions to date, the first two for pike, the latest in pursuit of carp. On my first visit, deadbaiting, I lost two fish. The first threw the trebles at the net, a long lean pike I’d estimate at between 16-18lb, a fine fish I would have enjoyed returning, and the second, I had contact with for almost ten minutes before it too discharged my hooks; I never saw it… This week, I’ve had three rods out. I’d heard that carp were on the move, seen reports of a 25lb fish and a couple of smaller samples, had messages to say fish had been lost, so thought it time to turn up and make it look easy. It didn’t happen. Don’t get me wrong, I fished well, I fished confidently, and all of my baits were on good spots, on good rigs, and all were clear of weed, but nothing happened. Thankfully, during the few daylight hours I was there, no-one else caught either; that’s not an admission of petty jealousy, but a barometer by which I compare myself with others who know the water. It’s a weedy venue, and the weed is coming up fast. Silkweed blankets the bottom, and Canadian Pondweed is prevalent, so presentation is everything and I knew I’d got it right, with baits ‘parachuted’ onto the top of weedy mass, or a small Mainline pop up deposited neatly on a clear spot, but the carp weren’t playing at all. Eventually, I saw one fish slowly move through the swim, but it didn’t look interested… I thought my watercraft was on form too. I targeted the shallows where I suspected the water may be half a degree warmer, carefully plotted the path of the sun to make sure the area I was in would stay warm, and noted the direction of the wind to give myself the best chance. Other anglers on the water eventually moved into my end of the lake as their fruitless efforts in deeper parts of the venue had also resulted in a lack of action, which was another positive indicator, but none of us could muster a fish. I know that getting to grips with a new venue is part and parcel of fishing, and I know that I’ll get there in the end, but these fish are proper ‘lookers’ and I’m already getting impatient…Pah! On a brighter note, I managed an hour at another new venue, flicking bits of rubber into likely looking spots on a small stillwater in the hope of catching a perch or two. Again, this began to get frustrating; I knew my technique was reasonable, I knew the lures were good ones, and I knew the conditions were favourable, but I still struggled! One last cast (you know the kind, the one that turns into three or four, then becomes another hour) and I twitched the tiny lure back towards with no success. As the rubber

The highlight of the weekend from a County Senior League point of view was two all County Senior S&HCFA Association Cup Semi-Finals. S&HCFA Association Cup Semi-Finals Second Division Grimethorpe Sports continued their great cup run, by beating New Bohemians 2-0 at the SHU Sports Ground, thanks to a brace from Stevie Bennett. Grimethorpe will play Handsworth Parramore Reserves in the Final, after Handsworth beat Athersley Recreation Reserves 3-1 in an early kick-off on Saturday at Sheerien Park. Ryan Lee starred for Handsworth scoring three times. League Cup Wickersley may be struggling at the bottom of the Premier Division, but they put that aside to book a place in the League Cup Semi-Finals, as they beat last years’ winners Oughtibridge WMFC 2-0 away. There was one outstanding League Cup 3rd Round tie that was also played on Saturday, with Houghton Main beating Silkstone United 4-1 away from home. The 2013/14 ﬁnalists will travel to Jubilee Sports in the Quarter-Finals.

bait approached my rod tip, I decided to ‘swizz’ it about a bit at my feet to check its action through the water, and you’ve guessed it, a huge boil of water, a flash of gold, and, for a millisecond, I found myself eye to eye with a small pike as it rolled over the bait…and missed it! Would nothing going go right this week? One last cast (told you) and I drew the bait over the same spot; this time the jack did make solid contact, and as my clutch started to sing, my 6lb braid was put under some stress for a change! Five minutes of fun followed as the pike tried to elude me, but it soon tired, and was chinned from the water and placed on the mat to be admired. I thoroughly enjoy catching pike on very light kit, I find it far more fun than using a 3lb test curve rod to tame such beautiful fish, and if you haven’t tried it, then you really should, I guarantee you’ll enjoy it too. Tight lines…

The winner of that Quarter-Final will take on the aforementioned Wickersley in the Semi-Finals. U21 Cup Semi-Final Last Tuesday night, the U21 Division’s top two, Handsworth Parramore U21 and Stocksbridge Park U21, met at the Memorial Ground in the first of the U21 League Cup Semi-Finals. The game went in second placed Stocksbridge’s favour, as they ran-out 3-1 winners. The result was identical when the two met in the league back in October. Stocksbridge will play the winner of Caribbean Sports U21 and Wombwell Main U21 in the final. Premier Division The big result of the day came at Mexborough Athletic Ground, where defending champions Swinton Athletic beat league leaders Frecheville 1-0 through a goal from Darren Walker. However, Frecheville remain eight points clear at the summit. Swinton climb into fourth position, 16 points off the pace with four games in hand. I can’t believe he cannot get in the squad.” Noble has represented England from the Under-16s right up to Uunder-21 level. He was captain of the Under-21 team but the step up to senior level has never materialised. At 28, there is still a chance Noble could get a call up, but it would appear that the opportunity is agonisingly passing him by. There has indeed been a plethora of fantastic midﬁelders for England managers to select from in the last 10 years, but if the likes of Tom Cleverley and even Joey Barton were given caps, surely a more noble man deserves one too.

He has gone on to represent the team he supported as a boy over 300 times and is the longest serving player in West Ham’s current squad. Kell Brook, the IBF Welterweight Champion and Sheffield United fan, was present as the Blades scored three to defeat Oldham Athletic. Brook was taking time off his training camp for the bout against Kevin Bizier, at the Sheffield Arena on March 26th, to see the Blades win. Speaking after the match, Brook suggested he brought luck with him to Bramall Lane, he said: “Every time I come to the Lane they get a win.” With ten games left in the season, and six points between the Blades and the play-offs, Brook might be invited back as the guest of honour more than once. On the promotion push, Brook said: “I’ve got my fingers, toes and

everything crossed. I want them to do it, we’ve got to get behind them and push them on.” Adkins will hope the fighting talk from Brook will spur his players on for the run in. It isn’t the easiest end to a season for the Blades, out of the ten fixtures left; six are against opponents above them in the league. The Blades will have to pick up points against high flyers Walsall, Gillingham and Millwall if they are to reach the play-offs. Dean Hammond, on loan from Leicester City, also recognised the tricky run in that the Blades face, he said: “We’ve got to play the teams that are up around there, so it’s down to us, we believe we can still achieve that.”

my goal but the ﬁrst as well. “Fernando won it back in the middle of the park, gave it to Bannan who found McGeady for his ﬁrst goal. “For the second, he gave it to me and I put it in the bottom corner, we pressed really well and that’s the way we do it.” Forestieri is the Owls’ top goalscorer with 12, though hot on his heels is Hooper, who added: “I will try and get ahead of him but the main thing is winning games. It doesn’t matter where the goals come from. “We’re delighted with the performance and result against Forest.”

CREATING A STRATEGY With nine games left to play in the Sky Bet Championship, Carlos Carvalhal says Wednesday will continue with the same methods that have proved successful all season. The Owls have enjoyed a strong campaign so far and currently occupy a place in the coveted play-off positions. Victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday ensured Wednesday remained in the top six and although competition at the top is ﬁerce, Carlos says no nerves will come into play. “We win games with quality, not with nerves,” he said. “We don’t have nerves and think we must achieve this, we

must achieve that. “We just do what we like to do, play football, try to put quality on the pitch and try to win the games. “We win the games by preparing very well, analysing the opponents, the strengths and weaknesses and try to create a good strategy. “The players are the most important part of
