Went to see the Doc yesterday about my deteriorating hearing. Doc: Can you describe the symptoms to me? Me: Yes, Homer is lazy and Marge has blue hair! A man walks into an emergency room with two black eyes and a broken nose. The doctor asks him what happened. “Well,” says the man, “I was having a nice round of golf with my wife. She sliced her ball into a pasture of cows. We went to look for it, and while I was rooting around, I noticed that one of the cows had something protruding from its rear end. Sure enough, when it lifted its tail, there was my wife’s golf ball.” “And?” asked the doctor. “Well,” the man said, “that’s when I lifted the cow’s tail, pointed, and yelled to the missus, ‘Hey, honey—this one here looks like yours!’” A woman turns to her husband in bed and asks, “Do you love me only because my father died and left me a fortune?” “That’s crazy. Of course not,” he says. “I’d love you no matter who left you the money.” A little old lady answered her doorbell and saw a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner. “Good morning,” said the young man. “If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in highpowered vacuum cleaners.” “Go away!” said the old lady. “I haven’t got any money!” As she closed the door, the young man quickly wedged his foot in the door and pushed it open. “Don’t be too hasty!” he said. “Not until you have at least seen my demonstration.” And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet. “If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, ma’am, I will personally eat the remainder.” The old lady stepped back and said, “Well I hope you’ve got a damned good appetite, because they cut off my electricity this morning.”

Why not join the thousands of Anime, Cosplay, Comic Book, Sci-Fi and Video Gaming fans, as they embark on the ultimate, fun-packed weekend out at the Sheffield Arena next week on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th June. You will also have the opportunity to be a part of a Guinness World Record attempt for the Most People Dressed as Superheroes! Here’s how you can be involved… • Buy your tickets to Yorkshire Cosplay Con. • Dress up as a Superhero. • Visit the Cash for Kids team upon entry to the Arena to have your photo taken. • Listen for the announcement inside the arena at around 1:30pm and join the thousands of others and smile for the short video clip we need to prove it happened. This is a fundraiser managed by Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids charity, which supports sick and disadvantaged children across South Yorkshire. Yorkshire Cosplay Con want to help them raise £2,000. A minimum £1 donation per person taking part can help do this. You can make the donation as you have your photo taken. Here’s the IMPORTANT bits including official terms from Guinness: A recognised superhero is one that that has been used in a published book, comic, television programme or film. After our enquiry, sadly this does not include Anime. To qualify, each costume must be a full head-to-toe representation of the chosen superhero. The attempt is open to participants of all ages. The record can take several months to be officially verified by Guinness World Records. We will collate as much evidence as possible to provide to them to prove that the event took place and (if) the record was broken. Whatever the outcome from this Guinness World Records decision is final. They are entitled to disqualify individual participants or the entire attempt. Photos taken on the day will be available after the event. There will be updates on the Yorkshire Cos-

play Con and Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids Facebook pages. Yorkshire Cosplay Con is an action fuelled, family friendly, geek convention like no other. It’s an event where characters (from film, tv, popular culture, anything that can be imagined…) come to life. Cosplaying (or ‘Costume Play’) is for everyone; from little children in fancy dress, to adults who want to embrace an alter-ego; from people who want to pretend to be someone else for a day or just people who like to dress up. From professional costumers, to handcrafted costumes that have taken years to perfect, you are likely to see a whole array of wonderful characters, a collection of which you could never imagine coming together in any other setting. The event will have an action packed stage schedule with a variety of performances, plus a massive selection of stalls with all sorts of geeky, quirky and unusual items. Over the weekend there will be a range of guests from TV and Movies, as well as authors and graphic novelists. A wide range of activities are planned that are suitable for the entire family, including workshops, card and video gaming events, roleplay games, and more! Yorkshire Cosplay Con pride themselves as being the ultimate family friendly convention, so bring along the kids for free face painting and balloon modelling. Children will even get a chance to show off their own outfits in our increasingly popular kids cosplay competition on stage. We will have some amazing photo opportunities across the weekend, with recognisable props from your favourite tv shows and films, vehicles, and costumers – so, come and get your ‘selfies’ involved! Yorkshire Cosplay Con will be in it’s 6th year and Summer 2016 at Sheffield Arena is set to be the biggest and best yet! From humble beginnings with the intention of bringing like-minded people together, it has grown to be one of the largest, most popular, events in the Yorkshire calendar. Tickets are now on sale in person at the Arena Box Office, by phone on 0114 256 5656 or online at www.sheffieldarena.co.uk. Tickets are priced from £9.90 for adults & £7.70 for children (including booking fee) when booking by phone or online & from £9.45 for adults & £7.35 for children (including booking fee) when booking in person at the Arena Box Office. Early Bird Entrance & Weekend tickets also available.

BIG SCREEN SUPERHEROES KEEP ON TRUCKIN’ TO HELP BLUEBELL WOOD HOSPICE Transformer superheroes Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee and other Autobot buddies are taking time out from fighting intergalactic baddies to be part of a fundraiser at Meadowhall Shopping Centre, in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. The Autobots are ready to make

a marvellous spectacle outside the Argos entrance, at Meadowhall Shopping Centre, where Transformer fans can have their photographs taken with the caracters in return for a donation to the Sheffield based children’s hospice. The Transformers are appearing on Friday June 3, but are also part of a larger Superheroes Week being hosted by the Centre that sees big screen heroes meet and greet fans – young and old – throughout the half term. At various times during week a host of superhero characters take centre stage, including caped crusader Batman, Sid and Scrat from Ice Age, as well as Star Wars Stormtroopers. Claire Rintoul, Chief Executive of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be involved in Meadowhall’s

Superhero Week, not only do we get to work with these fantastic characters but have a lot of fun fundraising for our own superheroes at Bluebell Wood.” Alex Caley, Events Manager at Meadowhall, added: “Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is our official charity for 2016/17 so we thought this was an ideal event to invite the team down to raise much-needed funds. The Transformers are a huge attraction in every sense of the word and we know that fans travel far and wide to get to meet their heroes in the flesh – or metal – so to speak!” The Transformers will be at Meadowhall between 10-4pm. COMMEMORATIVE MEDALS FOR WOMEN OF STEEL The first of hundreds of medallions, commissioned especially to honour the Sheffield Women of Steel was struck this week at The Sheffield Assay Office in preparation for presentation at the commemorative statue unveiling ceremony on 17 June. Following a public fundraising campaign, which saw the target of £150,000 smashed by the people of Sheffield, the city will honour the women who showed bravery and determination working in Sheffield’s steel works throughout two world wars, with a commemorative statue, plus a commemorative medallion for each of them or their families to keep. The Sheffield Assay Office began pressing the medals yesterday, which are based on the statue designed by Martin Jennings and will be presented at the unveiling ceremony on 17 June outside Sheffield City Hall where the ladies attended tea dances during WWII. Julie Dore, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said: “The commemorative medallions look fantastic, I’m so pleased that we are able to honour our inspirational Women of

Steel in this way. It would not have been possible without contributions from all the people who gave so generously and goes to show how special these women are to the people of Sheffield. The statue creates a lasting legacy that will ensure the Women of Steel and their hard work is always remembered and I look forward to showing our appreciation at the unveiling on June 17, and presenting them with their very own piece of history from this special occasion.” Nearly 400 women will be honoured with the silver-plated medals which are being pressed by a 360-ton press – specifically sourced by the Assay Office. One side of the medal has a picture of the statue and the other is engraved ‘With thanks to our wartime Women of Steel from the people of Sheffield. Several Sheffield 50+ members are in line to receive a medal either in their own right or for a family member. The idea for medals was developed when the funding target of £150,000 was exceeded and the appeal reached £170,000. John Palmer, who coordinated the fundraising appeal, said:

“When we knew we had the extra cash, we thought there was no better way to honour our Women of Steel personally than with a commemorative medallion. The statue is something everyone can share and is a fitting acknowledgement of what the women did together. The medallion is a thank you to each individual woman from the people of Sheffield who came together as a community to raise the money for this everlasting symbol of how much they are treasured.” The ceremony takes place on Friday 17 June from 11:30am in Barker’s Pool, it’s free to attend and everyone is welcome. Julie Dore added: “This occasion highlights the true spirit of Sheffield people, not only the women we are celebrating, but all those who have made this idea become a reality. I really hope that everyone who supported the appeal will join us for the unveiling to make it a special day for the city and the Women of Steel.”

TYRE CHECKS URGED FOR CARAVANERS As the UK Summer getaways begin, those hitting the roads with a caravan are being reminded to prepare responsibly. The RAC estimated around 15.3 million cars used major roads for leisure journeys over last weekends bank holiday - over a million more than the late Spring weekend last year. As such, Bridgestone Tyres is urging caution among all active caravan owners when it comes to their pre set-off checklist. When a caravan or trailer tent is used just once or twice a year, its tyres can fall victim to ‘flat spots’. This is where the rubber deforms due to the significant weight pressing down on the same point for long periods, and can jeopardise the safety of all road users when moving at high speeds. Irrespective of how they actually look, if a set of tyres has not been changed for 10 years they must be replaced, the tyre giant warns. Rubber naturally degrades over time and grip can be easily compromised, regardless of the superficial appearance of tread depth or general condition. As chairman of TyreSafe, Bridgestone’s Stuart Jackson has been vocal in encouraging holiday-goers to keep out an eagle eye for any deterioration, signs of age, cracks to the sidewall

or carcass deformation before heading out onto the roads. Mr Jackson says using tyres which are correctly inflated for the applied load is a safety essential regardless of the vehicle; be it towing car, motorhome, caravan or trailer tent. “Tyres that are driven under inflated for extended periods are more likely to suffer from rapid wear which could lead to a sudden and rapid deflation, causing loss of control,” he said. “Debris left on the carriageway after a tyre failure could prove hazardous for other motorists.” He continued: “We never recommend the dangerous practice of fitting a replacement tyre on the hard shoulder and roadside safety advice issued by Highways England should always be observed.” Paying attention to tyre inflation also means a far more even ‘wear rate’, which in turns leads to a longer life and reduced costs for the owner. It is also essential, having checked pressure, that valves are seen to be not leaking and all caps securely fitted. Correct inflation pressures for car tyres can be found in a vehicle’s owner’s handbook.

ROAD MAINTENANCE CONTRACT KICKS OFF IN YORKSHIRE A new contract to maintain and respond to issues on Yorkshire and the Humber’s motorways and major A roads has been awarded to highways specialist A-one+. The Highways England contract, which will run from 7 June, will ensure the region’s strategic roads are well maintained and safe to use for the 270,000 businesses and 5,000,000 people based in the region. A-one+ will provide routine highway maintenance services, emergency incident response and severe weather services, as well as renewal and small scale improvement projects, on the Yorkshire and Humber network. The company has successfully retained the contract for the Yorkshire and the Humber area. The new contract model will focus more on the long term effective maintenance and development of the highways assets. The contract will also provide a platform to drive innovation, efficiencies and savings, such as requiring A-one+ to give greater focus on combining routine maintenance work with projects to minimise the impact on the travelling public, and deliver better value for money. Highways England Service Delivery Team Leader for Yorkshire and the Humber, Roger Wantling, said: “This new way of working will allow us build on what we have already committed on Yorkshire’s motorways and major A roads.

NO MORE QUEUES! IMPROVEMENTS AT TRAMLINES FESTIVAL 2016 Last year, Tramlines relocated the main stage to Ponderosa Park. This large park just outside the city centre allowed Tramlines to increase capacity and bring even bigger acts to Sheffield, in line with the requests of the public. The move was a success with more people than ever before converging in this normally quiet area of Sheffield. As with anything new, there were one or two teething issues, the festival organisers for Tramlines have addressed these for 2016. All the elements of ticketing and entry have been improved. Firstly there’s more choice when purchasing festival tickets. In addition to buying a ticket for a specific day, you can also buy day or night only tickets so that the early birds and night owls only pay for the areas they want to attend. Tramlines have also added the option to buy a VIP access ticket that includes queue jump at the main stage and Devonshire Green, private bar access and posh toilets. The e-ticketing system has been improved so that anyone who loses his or her ticket will still get in (e-tickets only). There will also be more wristband exchange points so that you can swap your ticket for a wristband at the most convenient location for you. Getting into the main stage should be a much faster experience with more security staff on hand at the entry points. Once you’re inside the main stage there

will be less queues for food and drink with more festival eats from independent food retailers and bigger and better bars stocking everything from real ales to cocktails. There are also major improvements to the sound system and fairground rides will be moved away from the main stage. Most importantly Tramlines have doubled the number toilets on site! There’s more music overall at Tramlines 2016 with added day venues and an increase in the capacity of Devonshire Green which opens on Friday night for a Sheffield showcase. There’s even free film screenings at The Showroom for wristband holders. Once the day is drawing to a close, the main stage opening hours have been extended so that you can finish your drink and grab a bite to eat after the last act finishes without rushing to the exits. Tickets for Tramlines Festival 2016 are on sale and, as ever, remain seriously good value. A weekend ticket comes in at the bargain price of £42 plus booking fee, covering all stages from day until night. For club access only, a weekend pass costs £20 plus booking fee. To stay for the official closing parties on Sunday night, tickets are an added £5, making it one of the most competitively priced festivals around. For up-to-the-minute information about Tramlines 2016 visit www.tramlines.org.uk or follow Tramlines on Twitter @tramlines

Raising Pounds for Pete and Weston Park Cancer Charity A group of local walkers are setting foot down south, up north and back home to raise vital funds for a Sheffield cancer charity. The group known as 'Horsfield's Hikers' are preparing to walk 170 miles over ten days this July in aid of Weston Park Cancer Charity. Training is well underway and the hikers are determined to complete the challenging walk to remember a much-loved friend and family member who lost his brave and determined battle with cancer. Walk organiser Adam Oxley said: "The inspiration for this walk is one of my dad's best and oldest friends, my 'Uncle' Pete Horsfield. Pete sadly passed away in October 2014 after battling bowel cancer for a few years. In the end it all happened quite quickly and it obviously left a massive hole in many lives, particularly Pete's wife Mel, his two children Nick and Fran, his daughter-in-law Hannah, and his other family and friends. "Sadly Pete is the second of my dad's close friends to pass away through cancer over recent years and in 2011, I completed a walking challenge for two other local Sheffield charities in memory of my 'Uncle' Terry. After Pete passed away, I wanted to do another challenge to raise money for his family's chosen local charity - Weston Park - to support the vital work the cancer charity do, and to remember Pete with his family and friends. "The route takes place in three locations around England, all places of significance

in Pete's life, starting in Cornwall where Pete spent many a happy holiday. From there we'll travel north to walk the entirety of Hadrian's Wall, finishing in the north east where Pete loved to visit. The final leg of the walk will be back in the Sheffield area, starting at his home in Dronfield, working our way through part of the Peak District and finishing at Hillsborough, the home of Pete's beloved Sheffield Wednesday FC, on Sunday 10 July - the birthday I shared with Pete.” Weston Park Hospital is one of only a handful of specialist cancer hospitals in England and treats patients from all over South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire – a population of almost 1.8million people. Weston Park Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for the hospital and exists to support the world-class cancer research and to improve the treatment and care for people living with cancer. Adam continued, "My previous walking challenge was about 90 miles over three days between Filey and Sheffield. I learnt so much during that walk, notably the importance of wearing the right footwear and putting in the miles beforehand - neither of which I got right! I'm looking forward to the challenge itself and spending time with family and friends, but getting up each morning will be increasingly difficult so I'll need lots of financial and emotional support.” "I want to better the £3,268 fundraising total from my previous walk and raise awareness

of the fantastic work done by Weston Park Hospital, in memory of a man in Pete Horsfield who brought so many laughs and good times into our lives." People can follow the hikers' progress on Twitter @HorsfieldHikers or on the Horsfield's Hikers Facebook page. To donate to the group and give vital funds

for Weston Park Cancer Charity, visit www. justgiving.com/HorsfieldsHikers or text 'HORS91' with £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070. For more information or to get involved and support the cancer charity’s vital work visit www.wphcancercharity.org.uk or call the charity office on 01142265370.

Home of The Clash's first gig looking for new owner. Legendary Sheffield music venue the Black Swan, more recently known as Fuel Nightclub, has been placed on the market through specialist business property advisor Christie & Co. Located on Snig Hill in Sheffield, the venue, affectionately nicknamed the Mucky Duck by locals, welcomed iconic bands including AC/DC, Status Quo and Genesis in its 1970s heyday. On 4 July 1976 The Clash their first ever live gig at the Black Swan, supporting the Sex Pistols and the Buzzcocks. A change of name to Sheffield Boardwalk didn’t diminish its commitment to live music and in 2004 the Arctic Monkeys performed at the club, where lead singer Alex Turner used to work, releasing a demo collection named Beneath the Boardwalk, named in honour of the venue. In more recent years the venue housed the successful Fuel Nightclub, which closed its doors in early 2015. The owners are now looking to focus on other business interests and seek a new tenant to take over the building and restore it to its former glory. Oliver Brown, who is overseeing the marketing

ANGLER’S CORNER

with Clint Walker

I’m not a bait guru, can’t be bothered to roll my own boilies, never been interested, then I bought a Burco boiler… I saw it as I wandered around the local car boot sale with the lovely Mrs. Walker, and when I espied it, the wife innocently asked if it would be useful, and unwittingly unleashed a bait beast I didn’t know existed! I now have sacks of various seeds, pulses, particles and anything else which looks remotely ‘boilable’ lined up ready to experiment with. In the week I’ve had it, I’ve only done some hemp, the result of being banished from the domestic kitchen after my last efforts made the house, me, the dog, and everything else smell a bit…well, stinky! Hemp is easy to do, (I’m breaking myself in gently) just soak for at least 24 hours, chuck it all in the Burco, bring to the boil for five or ten minutes, then simmer until most of the seeds have split. A quick rinse in cold water to halt the cooking process, bag it up, freeze it; job done. I added a few teaspoons of bicarbonate to make the seeds darker, a little bit of hemp oil to the seeds I was going to use immediately, but apart from that, it’s easy, and maybe something you too could consider to make your fishing a little less expensive? If I can do it, anyone can… Armed with my homemade hemp, I arrived at this week’s chosen venue intent on fishing the margins. It’s a club water, popular with match anglers, who are regularly snapped by marauding carp, fish reputed to go to over 30lb, but which are rarely, if ever, witnessed (sounds like most lakes I fish….) but still big enough to smash up flimsy tackle. I chose to fish a peg right by the car park, one in which I’d witnessed an angler land a proper ‘lump’ previously, and before setting up, dumped a pint of freshly prepared hemp right on the edge of the reeds. I’m mad about my Sonik S3 1.5lb test curve Specialist rod, so twinned it with a 6000 series reel, 10lb main line and a short mono hooklink tied to a size 10 hook which the fishery rules state is the biggest I could use, then attached a small pva bag of Mainline Baits stick mix (and hemp) and tiny 10mm boilie. The whole lot was pinned down using a length of Vardis Tackle Tungsten Tubing, and a relatively slack line to the rig which was less than a rod length out. I’d already seen a tail break the surface over the hemp, watched as boils and swirls erupted as fish got their heads in to the freebies, so was expectant as I clipped the indicator on… I couldn’t get the bobbin to clip on; every time I tried to attach it to the line, it jumped off, and it took quite a few seconds before I realised that a carp had already hit

the bait, and was haring off towards the middle of the lake! Unbelievable! In fairness, not a monster, but a low double was a good start by anyone’s standards, and it had taken less than thirty seconds to connect. Obviously the disturbance wrecked the swim for all of ten minutes, so I waited until I could see the fish approaching before laying the rig in the margins once more… the bobbin held for a minute, before the spool started spinning, the alarm starting singing, and I was into another of similar size. The S3 is a fantastic fish playing rod, I was lucky enough to test the blank before the range were sanctioned, and the lighter test curve, combined with a lump of a fish makes playing them an absolute joy. If you are fishing under the rod tips, and get a screamer, holding on to the fish is just sheer, arm aching fun, and I love it! This week, the S3 had a really good workout, as I finished the day with nine carp to around 15lb, and nine bream averaging 3-4lb each. All were taken within three feet of the bank, every single carp charged off on storming runs and in some instances, took almost fifteen minutes to net, which meant good fun for much of the day. It was very satisfying to watch home prepared bait hold fish in the area, especially as I was sat almost on top of them, and even more gratifying to know that they would come back after each fish had smashed the swim up whilst being netted. A couple of pints of hemp, mixed with a small amount of stick mix and about twenty five boilies had kept me busy all day…who says fishing needs to be expensive? As I’ve now prepared a couple of batches, I’m obviously considering setting up my own bait firm, but in all seriousness, I didn’t realise that it could be so easy; I can’t wait to start doing maize, groats, wheat, particle mix, pigeon conditioner, feral cats, or whatever else will fit in the Burco, maybe you should keep your eye out for a bargain too… it’s the best £20 I’ve spent for a long time, and it keeps me out of the kitchen… I wonder if that’s why Mrs. Walker told me to buy it….

CHANSIRI SWFC CLUB STATEMENT WE WILL It makes me as sad as all of you to be writing this statement with Sheffield Wednesday still a Championship club. That is in no way meant with a hint of disrespect to the Championship because this division is one of the toughest and most competitive leagues in the world. But this season, we came within one match of reaching the Premier League, which is arguably the pinnacle of the game. So right now, I am hurting and so sorry that we could not take that final step and end our 16-year exile from the top flight. But be assured of one thing – Sheffield Wednesday will be back. We will shake off this hurt, regroup over the summer and return with the intention of going all the way next season. And as your chairman, I pledge I will do everything I possibly can to ensure we do exactly that. Because you, the fans, deserve to be in the Premier League. You are Premier League. Almost everyone

SUMMER REBUILD BEGINS by Andrew Smith Chris Wilder moved swiftly after his appointment to tear apart a squad that was devoid of quality, and the highest paid in League One. Now, with 11 players contracted to the club, and a further seven transfer listed, a significant rebuilding job is now needed at the Lane. The Blades have been linked with moves for Coventry City’s Aaron Phillips, and Bradford City striker, James Hanson. Plenty more names will be linked with a summer move to the Lane, as Wilder builds a squad capable of promotion to the Championship. However, the names being linked with the club could possibly suggest a change in the clubs transfer philosophy. Previous managers such as Clough and Adkins, have looked up the

who was at Wembley on Saturday came away talking more about what they saw off the pitch rather than on it. I thought those scenes were incredible – I have never seen anything like it and neither have a lot of people who have been in football for many, many years. You are all a credit to yourselves and to our club and I would like to sincerely thank every single one of you for the truly remarkable way in which you supported the team. Your backing all season was unrivalled and without that level of support, our journey would not have been possible, of that I am sure. On a personal note, you have all made myself, my family and friends so very welcome since I arrived at Sheffield Wednesday. This has helped so much in making us feel at home in our new city of Sheffield and once more, I say thank you. Those scenes on Saturday will stay with me for a very long time and only increase my desire and

total commitment to take us back to where the football world saw this club belongs – the Premier League. I would also like to thanks Carlos, his coaching staff, all the players and all the staff at our club for their hard work and dedication over the course of the season. The fact that we came so close to achieving our dream was

testament to the drive, passion and talent that we are fortunate to have here at Hillsborough. We now need to harness those skills, re-focus all our efforts and ensure that together, on and off the pitch, we are ready to achieve what was denied us at Wembley but what I am sure you agree was still one of the most memorable occasions of our proud history.

divisions when looking for players to sign. However, as we now know, many of these players, such as Dean Hammond, were not suited to the task of aiding promotion from League One. Teams such as Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers had great success by acquiring the best talent in League One. Before the January transfer window, Wigan were struggling to attain a play-off spot. The acquisitions of players such as Reece Wabara, Ryan Colclough and Sam Morsy, who are all top League One talents, propelled the Latics to their eventual promotion as Champions. By releasing the high earners and transfer listing others, it appears that Wilder is considering an approach like the ones that Wigan and Wolves orchestrated. After Sheffield Wednesday’s near miss on a Premier League spot, it is time somebody brought some success back to Sheffield United.

A 24-team football tournament runs throughout the day to mirror the international tournament. If you’re a budding Kane or Bale and fancy

PLENTY TO BE PROUD OF After a terrific campaign, defying the odds and surprising many along the way, Wednesday fell just short in the Championship play-off final but Glenn Loovens says there is plenty to be proud of. Wednesday – backed by an unbelievable army of 40,000 supporters at Wembley – were defeated 1-0 by Hull and Loovens believes the Owls will take the experience on board and come back stronger. The captain said: “It’s not nice how we are feeling right now but we have to move on and go into next season and make sure we don’t feel like this again.

year-by-year. “It’s going to be a very difficult task.
