ROTHERHAM’S VINTAGE HOP RETURNS FOR A DAY OF NOSTALGIA the town is filled with music from the 40s and 50s all day long. A stage near Boots will include the wonderfully entertaining George Formby Experience, Jill Kemp, and in the iconic songbirds 100th year, a Tribute to Vera Lynn. The Mee Kats, The Slingshots and The Moonshiners will be whipping up a rock ‘n’ roll storm in All Saints’ Square. The live music doesn’t stop there! You are also invited to Hop into the evening at the Cutlers’ Arms. The doors open at 5.00pm and you can rock ‘n’ roll into the
night with three fantastic bands including Johnny and the Timebombs, the Tombstone Buzzards and Sarah Jay and her North Side Boys. Entry into the Cutlers’ is free with pie and peas on offer for £2.50 per person. The vintage market, to be located on Effingham Street, will offer a quirky and eclectic mix of goods including vintage clothing and collectables, homewares, preloved jewellery and reproduction vintage knitwear. It’s time to dust down your glad rags and practise your dance moves, as the Vintage Hop returns to Rotherham. The 3 June will see Rotherham town centre step back in time for a day of fabulous vintage style entertainment from 10.30am until 3.30pm. Back for its fourth year the Hop has a fantastic array of free entertainment including live music, children’s entertainment, vintage market and vintage vehicles. A first for the Hop is the addition of a second stage, ensuring

part of the Vintage Hop, with a wide range of cars, bikes and vans for young and old to discover and admire. A very exciting Vintage Classroom Sewing Experience will be brought to the event by the talented Gemma Nema of The Button Tin. Running from 11.00am until 3.00pm these free workshops are a must for those wishing to make and take home a beautiful vintage treat. The day will also include children’s entertainment from Mr Alexander’s Travelling Show and the chance to have a ride on a brilliant inflatable
helter skelter, lots of fun for the younger audience, and those young at heart! Plus, Dawn from Craft Corner will be on hand with crafts for anyone who is feeling creative. For those wishing to learn a few dance moves on the day, RotherHop will be giving Lindy Hop demonstrations near Boots. RotherHop have recently started classes at the 1915 Bar & Bistro on Monday nights 7.15pm until 8.00pm, just in case you want to get some practise in before the Vintage Hop! Vintage attire is strongly encouraged at the Hop
with some great prizes to be won for Best Dressed Gent and Best Dressed Lady, kindly donated by local businesses including Fitzwilliam & Hughes, Coombes Blooms and the Whistle Stop Sweet Shop. Rotherham Council’s Assistant Director of Culture, Sport and
