EXTRA POLICE TO BOOST TOWN CENTRE PATROLS More police officers are being brought in to Doncaster town centre to tackle anti-social behaviour, crime, aggressive begging and to deter drug dealing and use. This includes a focus on the impacts of Spice which is affecting towns and cities across the country. In a joint move with South Yorkshire Police, Doncaster Council is funding additional police officers to provide more intensive and longer patrols in the town centre. This will mean joint patrols of police officers and the council’s neighbourhood and town centre teams will be on duty seven days a week from 7am to 10pm.

The additional resources of at least two police officers and two Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will bolster the current dedicated town centre team of six police officers including a sergeant and seven council officers. The boosted patrols follow discussions between the Mayor and Chief Executive of Doncaster Council with South Yorkshire Police as part of a coordinated response to issues in the town centre which are affecting visitors and businesses. The patrols are planned to begin next week starting September 3 and will initially be in place for a three month pilot which will be monitored

for effectiveness in dealing with issues. If successful, the pilot might be extended. A public campaign in partnership with local businesses will also be launched shortly in areas affected by the anti-social behaviour including drug taking to encourage giving to charities that help people with substance addiction and homelessness rather than giving on the streets. This will discourage begging and help those who are seeking help to access direct support to turn their lives around. Both of these actions are part of a robust joint action plan agreed with local business leaders earlier this month. This latest activity

was announced at the Doncaster Business Forum meeting last night (Wed). The action plan also includes: • Better co-ordinated patrols of police and community neighbourhood teams to deal with drug dealing and anti-social behaviour • Co-ordinated work to support people into accommodation and support for addictions and mental health and related issues • Smarter communications between the agencies and businesses to deal with issues quicker and based upon information businesses can offer directly • A campaign to discourage town centre

REGIONAL EDITION

visitors from giving to those who are begging as it could feed addictions and get in the hands of drug dealers who need to be stopped • Making some places in the town centre that attract anti-social behaviour brighter with better lighting to discourage people from congregating • Relooking at how the town centre seating and spaces are configured so as not to be a magnet for anti-social activity and taking down market stands at the end of market days to remove ready-made spaces • More clean ups and cleansing runs to make areas more attractive and reduce litter and other debris • Enhancing the current

programme of town centre events that encourage people into the town centre and let businesses know what’s coming up so they can support • Collaborating with businesses in the run up to Christmas to boost footfall • Continuing to work with the courts and Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on sentencing for criminal activity and the support that is given to people who are released from prison with the probation service • Working with business owners on making the town centre more visually attractive and removing red tape to make things happen. Mayor Ros Jones said

these actions along with increased daily cleansing of the town centre, underlined the joint action all partners were signed up to make the town centre a better environment for all. “We have listened to what residents, visitors and businesses have told us and are acting upon it with concerted action and effort. We have been working with local businesses for over a year now to tackle these issues with some success. However, it is clear that these complex issues will not be resolved easily so we must go further to tackle the issues head on by working together. All public services are under financial pressure and we have

to work together to solve shared challenges. This arrangement is an example of that. I believe this joint approach with everyone who has pride in our town centre will achieve real results and we will continue to work hard to make this happen,” she said. Chief Inspector Jayne Forrest, Doncaster Neighbourhoods, said: “Together with partners we are responding to the recent spike in the town centre around these issues and are finalising an enhanced patrol plan. I am committed to making Doncaster town centre a pleasant place to live, work and study and through collective efforts I know we can all make a difference.”

SHEFFIELD AND THE BLADES IN BID TO HOST UEFA WOMEN’S EURO 2021

The City of Sheffield and Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane stadium have been confirmed as hosts by the Football Association in its bid to stage the UEFA Women’s EURO 2021 in England. It promises a substantial commercial and profiling boost to the area. The tournament, the biggest and best showcase for the women’s game, attracts a significant print and broadcast media audience across Europe as well as overseas visitors and players and officials from 16 countries. Inclusion in the list of proposed cities and

stadia – Rotherham and the AESSEAL New York Stadium are also included – reflects the growth of the women’s game in the area with Sheffield United Women recently granted permission to play in the second tier of the Women’s Super League Councillor Mary Lea, Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Leisure said: “We are delighted that the work we have done with our friends and partners at Sheffield United has gained Sheffield a prestigious place on the host city list in the England FA bid. Sheffield is the home of football.

this is where the rules were written, this is home to the first, and the oldest teams in the world, and this is a reinforcement of Sheffield as a world-class location for world-class events. Sheffield’s presence, along with Rotherham’s shows the growing support and involvement in women’s football across South Yorkshire and means this is great news for the women and girls involved in playing football, and their families and friends, as their footballing heroes and role models could be heading for the city. Sheffield United Operations Director Dave

McCarthy said: “This is wonderful news. The development of our stadium and investment in the pitch means that we are now in a position to stage high profile matches and events which bring so much benefit to the city as well. We have developed a close working partnership with Sheffield City Council and event reputation which I am sure has helped in being chosen as part of the Football Association’s bid. In recent years we have staged a number of high profile events at Bramall Lane, such as the Kell Brook world championship boxing

bout, the opening ceremony for the UK Special Olympics, the UEFA Under 21 qualifier for the 2019 championships and the FA Women Premier League Championship play-off . The other proposed cities and stadia included in the bid are: Brighton – Amex Stadium; London – Wembley Stadium connected by EE and Brentford Community Stadium; Milton Keynes – Stadium MK; Manchester – Manchester City Academy Stadium; Nottingham – Meadow Lane and Peterborough – ABAX Stadium. All proposed venues put forward in the bid are subject to evaluation by UEFA and are subject change.

ALBERT SNODGRASS I gave up my seat to a blind person on the bus. That’s how I lost my job as a bus driver. Apparently the clocks go back next month. Well I’m screwed then. I can’t remember where I got mine from. I went to a funeral and asked the widow... “Mind if I say a word?” “Please do.” She replied. I cleared my throat and said: “Plethora.” “Thanks, that means a lot.” She said. I just bought 50 bottles of Tipex. Big mistake! My wife works as a magician’s assistant. I think she’s picked up a few tricks I came home from work early and she was in the bedroom. She said, “Abracadabra!” and my mate, Dave, came out of the wardrobe, stark naked. Poor sod must have wondered what the hell was going on. My girlfriend and I are trying this whole “long distance relationship” thing. I have to stay 100 feet away from her at all times. Also, the police say I should stop referring to her as my girlfriend. My grief counsellor died recently. Luckily he was so good, I really didn’t care. Knock knock... Who’s there??? Grandad.... Oh bloody hell stop the funeral!

1282 05/09/2018 DON’T BE FOOLED - SPOT A SCAM GIVE BLOOD ON SUNDAYS You can be scammed in different ways online, by phone, by post or in person. Scammers try to get your personal details to get money from you or steal your details so they can pretend to be you. If you think someone might be trying to scam you, don’t: • Give them any personal information, like bank details, computer passwords or PIN numbers. • Reply to their email or click on any links. Download any attachments or files in emails. • Send them any money or buy anything. • Ring any numbers in emails or letters you receive. • Let them into your house if they’re at your door. • If you’ve lost money because of a scam, you can report it. Check the warning signs It’s easier to spot a scam if you know what to look for! Be careful if something: • Comes out of the blue or from someone you don’t know. • Sounds out of the ordinary - like you’ve won the lottery, or you’ve been invited to invest in an ‘amazing’ scheme and keep it a secret. • Asks you to pay for something in advance especially by bank transfer. • Asks you for personal information - like your bank details, computer passwords or PIN numbers. • Pressures you into buying something or making a decision quickly - a trustworthy company will be happy to wait. • Asks you to phone an expensive number - these start with 070, 084, 087, 090, 091 or 098 You can check recent scams on Action Fraud’s website, and common financial scams on the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) website: https://register.fca.org.uk/ • If you’ve been contacted about making an investment, check if the company is registered with the FCA on their website. If it’s not, it’s probably a scam. • If someone is offering to do building work for you, don’t let them start immediately and ask them for references - this will give you time to check if they’re reliable. You can find out more about hiring a trustworthy builder on the Citizen’s advice website.

• Also, if they ring you saying you have a fault or a virus on your computer. Do not give them any information. Simply inform that you do not have a computer. This has been reported by a Sheffield50plus member. Spotting a fake email or website Scam emails ask you for personal information like passwords or bank details to get money. This is called ‘phishing’. They often look like they’re from a real company - like a bank or building society. Remember that your bank will never ask you to confirm personal details by clicking on an email link. If you’re not sure if it’s a scam, check: • the email or website address - if it’s a scam, it might have a strange address or come from a free email provider like Gmail • for spelling mistakes - trustworthy websites are less likely to have them. • if the website starts with https:// - this means the information you send on the website is secure, but the website could still be a scam. • if the website has a green padlock in the website address bar - this means the information you send on the site is private. Get advice on being safe on the internet on Get Safe Online’s website. They also have advice on protecting your computer from viruses which can sometimes steal your details: www.getsafeonline.org/ If you think you’re being scammed online, don’t click on anything and leave the website. You might want to keep the email as evidence in case you report the scam. If you’ve had an email something that looks like it’s from your bank, contact your bank directly using the number on your card. You can also log into your account on their website - use Google to find the real one. You can also block the email sender or mark an email as ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ - this means you won’t see them in your inbox. Check your email provider’s help section for instructions on how to do this. Blood donors will now be able to donate on Sundays at Sheffield blood donor centre from Sunday, September 9th. The full new Sunday opening hours 08:00– 11:20 and 12:30-15:50. NHS Blood and Transplant always need new donors to replace those who can’t donate anymore and to ensure we have the right mix of donors to meet patient needs now and in the future. Half of all donors are over 45 so it’s important we recruit younger people to donate blood to help meet patient needs now and in the future. Dominic Sutherland, regional manager for blood donation marketing, said: “Being a blood donor is amazing and helps to save lives. Every time you donate a unit of blood you can save or improve the lives of up to three people who may be critically ill, suffering from cancer or other blood disorders, been in an accident, having surgery or after childbirth. Our new extended opening times give more opportunities to donate in Sheffield.” The need for blood is constant so we need people to book appointments in the coming months to be sure that we can meet the needs of patients all through the year. Sheffield blood donation centre is at Cathedral Court, Church St, Sheffield S1 2GN. Become a blood donor. Register today and book an appointment at www.blood.co.uk or call 0300 123 23 23

and infectious personalities. A complete soundtrack to their lives, each track is a celebration of their journey as women – the nostalgia, the joy, the highs, the lows, and the excitement for what is still to come. With over 130 years of collective experience, over 50 stage shows between them and more than 32 albums, these ladies are legends of the stage and screen. Featuring favourites such as Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’, Judy Garland’s ‘Get

Happy’ and ABBA’s ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’, each song on the album has been reimagined by the three women and captures the camaraderie, trust and friendship between them. Tickets for Golden Girls (subject to booking fees) at Sheffield City Hall are available online at www. sheffieldcityhall. co.uk through the ticket hotline on 0114 2 789 789 and in person at the Sheffield City Hall Box Office.

LIVE EVENTS AT THE PARAMOUNT

Synopsis: The Four Seasons rose to stardom in the 1960s with some of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll songs of a generation, pumping out classics such as “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” & “Walk Like a Man.” These tunes featured the sound of Frankie Valli, that sound of course is Valli’s falsetto, which dominated the airwaves of that time. The Band Consists of an allmale lineup and truly were one of the most talented acts of the ’60s and ’70s. They sold over a 100 million records worldwide which landed them a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. “Walk Like A Man” is the ultimate Tribute Show to one of the most successful bands The Four Seasons. Produced by West Ends very own “Jersey Boy,” Mark Halliday.

I’d described, which I enjoyed immensely. I also stopped by to help a couple of youngsters, pointing out a few basic errors which were easily rectified, and after spotting that one lad had forgotten a landing net, I went and spent a fiver at the second hand tackle stall to set him up; that fiver may just be enough to have him hooked for life, and I consider it money well spent… and it went into club coffers, so a real ‘win, win’ result! A weekend of commitment, and the club numbers had been swelled by several dozen ‘newbies’. It’s a great result for the club, bringing in new members and therefore new money, but it will also help the local retailers who will be called upon to supply the new recruits with tackle. Not only that, but the efforts of committee members have given many people a brand new lifelong hobby, something to enjoy, and hopefully pass onto other family members which is important; not only has it generated income, it’s also produced simple, easy, happiness… and in this day and age, where technology is king, that is something to cherish…

Although the County Senior League has been going a few weeks, it is safe to say this week it really go going with the Division Two starting its fixtures. In fact there were a whopping 27 games that took place this week. Premier Division It was a strange week for North Gawber Colliery. They took top spot in the Premier Division on Wednesday night with a 1-0 win over High Green Villa. There week was to take a strange twist though. They remain top, but lost 5-1 on Saturday, losing at away against Penistone Church Reserves. It was first loss of the season, following a four game winning start. Dodworth Miners Welfare sit second in the fledgling Premier Division table, and are the only team in the league with a 100% record thus far. Dodworth have won all four of their games thus far, including a 4-1 away win on Saturday against Handsworth Parramore Reserves. Dodworth were only promoted in the summer, following their Division One title win. There was a thriller at St George’s Park on Saturday, as High Green Villa faced Swinton Athletic. High Green took the spoils with a 5-4 victory, inflicting the first defeat of the season for defending champions Swinton, after only two games. Jubilee Sports had a mixed week. They started the week, with a loss on Wednesday night 3-2 at home to Oughtibridge WMSC. But they made up for it on the weekend with a 3-1 away win over Grimethorpe Sports thanks to goals from Charlie Hobson, Joshua Statham and Jarrod Lomas. A single goal from Adam Shepherd was enough to give Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves a 1-0 win over Penistone Church Reserves on Wednesday, and stretch their unbeaten start to three games. On Saturday both Hepworth United and Denaby United claimed their first victories of the season. Hepworth beat South Kirkby Colliery at home, with Denaby doing exactly the same thing against Oughtibridge WMSC. Division One Newly promoted Burngreave FC have taken to life in Division One since their promotion very well. They made it three wins from three this week,

Millmoor Juniors away 4-2 midweek and they then went onto beat Kiveton Park by the same result on Saturday. Also with 100% record after three games are Ecclesfield Red Rose 1915. Goals from Matthew Young and Scott Lees gave them a 2-1 win over Sheffield Medics on Saturday. Young had scored twice midweek to help Ecclesfield to 3-2 win over Sheffield Bankers. Goals from Kyle Brown (2), Simon Chadburn (3), Joshua Cornwall, Billy Evans, Jacob Simon and Warren Walker gave Wombwell Main a 9-1 win over Millmoor Juniors at Grange Park. AFC Dronfield made it back-to-back wins to open their season, as they beat Houghton Main 4-1 on Saturday. Dronfield have started strongly, following their 6-0 win over Wombwell last week. Houghton Main had beaten Hemsworth Miners Welfare Reserves 1-0 on Wednesday thanks to a goal from Ben Day. Hemsworth bounced back immediately, with a 3-2 win over Brinsworth Whitehill at the Yorkshire NU Build Stadium on Saturday. It has been an eventful week goal-wise watching Denaby Main. Midweek they were 3-1 winners away against Kiveton Park, with goals from Adam Kennedy (2) and Ryan Poole. They were then involved in a seven goal thriller on Saturday, as they fell to a 4-3 defeat to a Caribbean Sports. Elsewhere, at Killamarsh Juniors Football Ground, Boynton Sports were held to a 1-1 draw by Sheffield Medics on Wednesday evening. Division Two Division Two started on Saturday and it had a new look with a few new teams making their debut in the County Senior League. Ardsley Athletic Juniors made an instant impression, with a 4-1 home win over Caribbean Sports Reserves. Liam Egan (2), Reece Tattersall and Jake Fenton were all on target for Ardsley. Two other new teams United Worksop and Wombwell Town met at Manton Athletic Sports Club. It was a closely contested game, with a Wombwell coming out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Joe Oliver. Two goals form Timothy Pitt inspired Stocksbridge Park Steels Development to a 5-1 home win over AFC Dronfield Reserves. There were also two high-scoring draws, with Dodworth Miners Welfare drawing 2-2 with Sheffield Union and Thurcroft Miners Institute and Swinton Athletic Reserves finishing 3-3 at Thurcroft Hub.

BRADFORD OPPORTUNITY IDEAL FOR BALL WARNE

Rotherham United boss Paul Warne says David Ball’s move to Bradford City made sense for all parties. Following ratification of the deal which was completed late on deadline day, Warne explained the reasons for the 28-year-old’s loan departure but conceded that it was not a decision that was taken lightly to allow him to leave. “David wants to play just like I did when I was a player, so this was an ideal move for him,” he told www.themillers.co.uk. “His departure is with a heavy heart because he is one of the best professionals that I have

worked with, and he is a big figure in this brilliant dressing room. “He has played a major part in creating this positive environment that we have at the training ground, but we also have to understand that he is at an age now where he needs to play.” The Millers manager continued to add that impressive performances from a number of other attackers meant that he could not provide assurance to Ball of regular minutes, but insists he will track his progress in West Yorkshire closely. “With the likes of Smith, Proctor and Vassell doing well there was no guarantee we could give him regular first team football and therefore, this move was the best for all parties,” Warne continued. “I’ll certainly be keeping an eye on his progress, Bradford is only up the road and at every available opportunity when there isn’t a fixture clash, I’ll be checking in on his progress. We wish Bally all the best.”

ANDERSON SETTLING IN WELL Jermaine Anderson says he has settled in quickly since joining Rovers on a loan deal until January from Peterborough United. The 22-year-old made his debut in the Carabao Cup second round tie against Blackpool last month, and is enjoying getting to know his new teammates. He said: “The boys are great and I’ve settled in really well, we’ve got some good characters and everyone works hard for each other.

“I had a full pre-season and I’m ready to play, I enjoyed my debut even though we didn’t get the result we were looking for. “You have to stay positive if you want to progress, I have confidence in myself that I can help the team here.” Anderson’s move to Rovers saw him re-united with manager Grant McCann, who he worked under during their time at the ABAX Stadium. He added: “I was put on the transfer list by Peterborough at the end of last season and then the gaffer gave me a call to come here. “The system he plays is one that I like, he likes to play out from the back and very forward thinking which is what made me want to come here. “I’ve had some tough times through injury but you just have to keep your head down and working hard, I stay level headed and try to keep improving.”

MARQUIS: WE DESERVED MORE John Marquis felt a point was the least Rovers deserved after the 1-1 draw with Peterborough United in Sky Bet League One. The striker opened the scoring at London Road, before Ryan Tafazolli’s leveller earnt Steve Evans’ side a share of the spoils. He said: “It says a lot that we’ve come to a team that have won five in a row and we’re disappointed with a draw. “We played really well and I can’t remember them having too many chances, we just needed to get the

MCCANN PRAISES TEAM PERFORMANCE Manager Grant McCann praised his side’s performance following Saturday’s 1-1 draw away at Peterborough United in Sky Bet League One. Ryan Tafazolli’s second-half header brought the Posh back level following John Marquis’ 40thminute opener, and McCann was quick to heap praise on his No.9 and his fellow forwards. “When you’re on top, you have to score, and we did just that in the first half, I was delighted for John to score, the work rate he puts in for the team is second to none, he could’ve had a couple more, but he was outstanding,” he said. “John is a player that wants to run because of his appetite and his energy, he got into positions that caused them a lot of problems, and he always wants more from himself, but there’s no doubt how big a player he is for us. “We’re creating a lot of chances, Mallik Wilks

second goal while we were ahead. “The keeper made a couple of good saves and we hit a post, we’ve had enough chances but just couldn’t find the finish.” Rovers were the first team to take points from Peterborough in the 2018/19 campaign, and Marquis believes they can take the positives from that. He added: “We knew they would show a reaction and they changed their shape at half-time, but we didn’t let it get to us too much. “We want to improve and keep getting better, we’re never happy with a draw no matter how we play because we all want to win. “If anything it is a wake-up call for us in terms of how good we are as a team, we’ve played Peterborough and Portsmouth recently and could have won both games.”

could have had a couple, Tommy Rowe has had two saved, but on the whole, it was a really good team performance and they can take a lot of heart from that.” The point away at McCann’s former club saw the Posh drop points for the first time all season, and the Rovers boss said his side would look back on their dominating performance and use that as motivation to improve in the next game. “We’ve come to the so-called best team in the league and they were never anywhere near us throughout the whole game really, we won’t be getting too down about the result today, it’ll only give us confidence to go out and put it right in the next game,” he added. “I thought the whole team was first class, the fans were first class, the players were first class, it was a really professional performance from us, and it says a lot when you come away with just a point from here and you’re disappointed. “It’s early days in the league, we’re disappointed not to get a win regardless of where teams are in the table, it won’t be until around the 15-game mark where we see who can be up there, and we want to be one of those teams up there.”

WILDER DELIGHTED GOAL-DEN WITH VILLA SUCCESS BOY JACK Chris Wilder was understandably ‘proud’ of his players, following Saturday’s emphatic victory over Aston Villa at Bramall Lane. The Blades roared on by a passionate home support stunned Villa with a dominant first-half showing to go into half-time 3-0 in front. And despite a more even contest after the break, the scoreline could have had an even more one-sided look to it. Wilder remarked: “I’m delighted and proud of the performance and proud of the supporters who got

right behind us. It was a big game and we want to make it feel like one. “We had to be at our best to win the game, thankfully and fortunately we were. “We did it last year, we work extremely hard and we’ve not changed our attitude.

We have to drop on first and second balls and put our bodies on the line.” The boss added: “We leave everything out there, I’m not reinventing the wheel, but we try and do that and also play decent football with a belief, fearlessness and

confidence about our game. “It’s been created by the players and our support allows us to do that. It makes it easier for the players to try and do things when there is a real positive environment like we have at the moment.”

The big, popular defender headed United in front after just six minutes in the victory – it was his first goal since March 2017 in the victory over Millwall in League One. Chris Wilder predicted a goal for Jack O’Connell in Saturday’s game against Aston Villa. The big, popular defender headed United in front after just six minutes in the victory - it was his first goal since March 2017 in the victory over Millwall in League One. “The manager said before the game that I was due a goal,” Jack said. “The goal settled the nerves and it has been a long time coming, I know that I need to add more. “It could have been more, we had some good chances, as a team, we could have put the game to bed a little earlier than we did.” He added: “The international break comes at a bad time for us after a few wins, but we will rest, recover and come back even stronger.”

NINTH SUMMER SIGNING Versatile defender Cranie has been a free agent since leaving Middlesbrough at the end of last season and adds experience to United’s backline. He has signed a deal until the end of January. Cranie, 31, follows Conor Washington and Marvin Johnson through the Bramall Lane doors on Friday, whilst Dean Henderson, Ben Woodburn, John Egan, Ollie Norwood, David McGoldrick and Kean Bryan have also been recruited since the window opened once more. Boss Wilder commented: “Martin has substantial experience in the Championship, he arrives with a great attitude and ability. He is versatile and can cover us in a couple of positions.” Yeovil-born Cranie is a former England U21s international. He began his career with Southampton and has also represented Portsmouth, Coventry City, Barnsley and Huddersfield, whilst also playing for a number of clubs on loan. He was latterly at Middlesbrough, playing his last game for them in April.

JOS: “WE WERE EFFECTIVE IN BOTH BOXES” The Owls posted their third successive Championship win at Reading, leaving Jos Luhukay to reflect positively on his side’s recent pedigree. Goals from Adam Reach and Lucas Joao sealed victory in Berkshire and Wednesday enter the first international break of the season in style. Luhukay said: “You

always wish for a good result to take into the break and three in a row is perfect. “Today we were effective in both boxes and deserved the win. We did not make it easy after they got a goal back but then we steadied things and finished the game comfortable. “I must give the players the credit. To win three successive

games in the Championship is not easy. “But they have done that, they have worked very hard and deserve the praise they will receive.” Luhukay says his players will now take a well-earned rest before resuming duties in the middle of next week: “The players must now rest because we have had a lot of games

very close together. “This is not so good for recovery but they have gone out there and done what has been asked of them. “I am proud of them all and after a few days’ rest, we will be back to work as normal because we have some big games and tough games in September.” “We will be prepared.”

JOSH ONOMAH CHECKS IN Sheffield Wednesday have completed the loan capture of Tottenham ace Josh Onomah. The midfielder has joined the club until the end of the 2018/19 campaign. A product of the Spurs youth system, Onomah rose through the ranks at White Hart Lane and made his debut for the

club in January 2015, coming on from the bench in the 4-2 win over Burnley. The talented midfielder continued to impress in the senior ranks and made his maiden Premier League appearance in November 2015, replacing Dele Alli as a late substitute in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa. He went on to make his

first start for the club in December of that year in their 4-1 Europa League success at home to Monaco. The 21-year-old has made a total of 32 appearances so far for Spurs and spent the entire 2017/18 campaign on loan in the Championship with Aston Villa. The loan stint at Villa

Park saw Onomah rack up 37 appearances and become a key player in the Villans’ push for promotion, which went all the way to the playoff final, where they lost

It was with Barnet where Hector made his Football League breakthrough, joining the then League Two Bees in November 2011. The commanding defender became a fans’ favourite at Pittodrie before being recalled by parent club Reading in January. Hector made a deadline day switch to Premier League giants Chelsea in September 2015, in a deal that saw the defender immediately loaned back to former club Reading for the 2015/16 season.
