Sheffield will cement its place as the home of snooker when former greats of the game take to the baize at the Crucible Theatre next month. The city will play host to the ROKiT World Seniors Snooker as 20 players including Yorkshire’s only-ever world champion Joe Johnson and seven-time winner Stephen Hendry battle out between August 15 and 18. The event will take place at the Crucible Theatre, which has been home to the World Championship since 1977 and will also include dedicated women’s and disability snooker sessions. The draw was made for the 2019 ROKiT Seniors World Snooker Championship at Crucible Corner. Jason Francis, chairman of ROKiT World Seniors Snooker Tour, said: “I think there are certain places in certain sport that become hallowed ground. In football you’ve got Wembley and with snooker it’s always been the Crucible Theatre. “Anyone who has grown up liking the sport, the ultimate place to watch or play snooker is the Crucible. The Seniors Tour is now in its second year so it feels right to bring the championships here.” Jason Francis from World Snooker said: “We have to thank Sheffield Council for showing a vision and for making it happen. It’s important

for our championships to be played there but it’s equally important for us to give the opportunity for the women’s and disability game to play at the Crucible.” Jimmy White and Stephen Hendry will take part in the tournament alongside Yorkshire’s only winner, 1986 champion Joe Johnson. Richard Eyre, Sheffield Council’s head of city centre and major events, said the tournament offered the city the chance to ‘shout’ about its snooker links. He said: “Obviously we have had the World Snooker Championship for many years and have secured it for many more years but we have been saying for some time that we have got to shout about it. “Inwardly we are very proud but we don’t shout about it and this is part of that.”

ISSUE 1327 17/07/2019

SURPRISING ITEMS FOR THE DISHWASHER! For anyone who has one, the dishwasher is an essential part of their kitchen and has removed the monotony of cleaning dishes, cups and glasses, giving you time to relax instead of slogging over the sink. While this is great, it needn’t stop there and you may be surprised by how versatile your dishwasher can be. So here are some unexpected things you can clean in your dishwasher which will expand your free time even further! Children’s Toys Chewed, covered in food or rolled across the floor, your grandchild’s favourite toys can pick up dirt from just about anywhere. Plastic toys like lego wash especially well in a dishwasher – just put smaller pieces in the cutlery tray to ensure they don’t get lost. Sponges A sponge’s damp surface is the perfect way for nasty bacteria to develop and as easy as it is to throw them out and buy a new set, the heat of the dishwasher will kill off any unwanted guests, saving you from buying more too often. Extractor fan filter Recommended to be taken down and cleaned every couple of months. The inevitable build-up of grease can be a messy job to clean however the high temperature of your dishwasher coupled with a strong powder should remove most

of the grease leaving you very little to rinse off in your sink. Parts of your kitchen appliances From the knobs and burners on your range, microwave trays and even the plugs from your sinks, a lot of the small parts of your kitchen can be safely and easily cleaned and can make a real difference in giving your kitchen a shine. Bathroom items Toothbrush holders, soap dishes, shower racks and the rest of your bathroom items can be a pain to scrub clean but a quick run through your dishwasher will have them sparkling in no time. Wellington Boots Dirty wellies can be a pain to clean and very rarely look brand new after a few trips out in the rain but you may be surprised by the results after you put them through your washer. You’re best to remove any lining and insoles before so you’re not waiting too long for them to dry. Fruit and Vegetables Throwing your fruit and veg in your dishwasher may seem like a recipe for disaster but it’s a simple and effective way of batch cleaning them all at once. Packing all available space, so there’s no movement and using no detergent and on a cold rinse and you’ll be amazed at how well your veggies come up. It saves a lot of water that you would use cleaning

them under the tap so it’s great for the environment too! Car parts You’ll still need to go to the carwash for the most part but your hub caps, tire covers and floor mats can easily be put through your dishwasher. Tools Check that they are rust-free and without wooden handles before you begin, but most tools including the ones used for gardening can really benefit from a spin through the dishwasher. Many of these tools will have been in contact with dirt and pesticides, so don’t wash them with any other dishes and also run a sanitising cycle before you clean anything else. Hats and caps Brimmed hats and sports caps are notoriously difficult to wash because of their shape. A dishwasher can help with that, though it’s best to use something milder than your standard washing liquid Hairbrushes and Combs Plastic hairbrushes and combs can be placed in the utensil basket for an easy cleaning. Never include any natural bristle brushes or those with wooden handles. Flip Flops If your sandals are looking grungy after all your summer fun, toss them in your dishwasher to clean them up.

YORKS HOUSING TEAM HELPING THE VULNERABLE Yorkshire Housing’s South Home Improvement Agencies (HIA) provide a wide range of services to help some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in society maintain their independence and security. A packed schedule of work for the Sheffield-based team includes efforts in the fields of domestic violence, gas safety, electrical safety, hospital discharge, core local authority contracts and YH’s internal adaptations. Staff in Sheffield also cover Rotherham and Barnsley and offer support to tenants in the Swarcliffe Estate in Leeds. South HIA and internal adaptations manager Layla Walton explained she and the team are constantly searching for new projects – such as a recent successful bid for £5,000 from the South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner. This will see Yorkshire Housing handypersons fitting crime prevention measures, such as safety locks and security lights, at the homes of elderly and vulnerable people. The South HIA also gained funding from the Campaign for a Smarter Britain to promote smart meter use among the over65s in South and North Yorkshire. Handypersons and needs, advice and support officers will work in partnership with the National Energy Awareness charity spreading awareness of the rollout of smart meters. Judith Preston, South HIA needs, advice and support officer, is coordinating the smart meter project. She said: “Smart meters allow people to monitor the money they spend. People often think their appliances cost more to run than they do. But with a smart meter, they realise they can afford to put the heating on or use the washing machine. It also reduces the risk of an elderly person with limited mobility attempting to get a meter reading from somewhere inaccessible.”

Yorkshire Housing’s South and North HIAs recently teamed up to work with the Independent Domestic Abuse Service (IDAS) in Sheffield, Barnsley and North Yorkshire after successfully winning a bid of approximately £30k. The Rotherham HIA has also been working in partnership with Rotherham Council to deliver this service for more than 10 years. The calibre of help and support offered means the HIA is on course to achieve the Advice Quality Standard benchmark, which will make them the first HIA in the country to do so. It fits in with the HIA’s overall mission promoting the idea that everybody deserves to have a safe place fit to call home. Layla said: “We’re here to help. It’s not a cold, commercial service. We’re certainly not in it for the money. We’re proud to have a very warm, friendly and caring team who have a real passion for the delivery of the social value aspect of the social housing sector. They all go the extra mile every day and will and do drop everything at a moment’s notice to help a vulnerable person.” One example was going on a Friday night with equipment sourced by staff themselves for the home of someone in crisis who did not have anything. Layla said: “It takes a specific kind of caring individual to do that and I feel very proud of the team we have here.” The South HIA also manages the YH internal home adaptions for tenants, coordinating the installation of anything from through floor lifts to grab rails and key safes. The technical officer within the South HIA also supports major works at the Swarcliffe Estate in Leeds, including the installation of stair lifts and wash-dry toilets. And there is a private handyperson service for small DIY jobs that older or disabled people might not be able to do or those who may not be eligible for the core council-funded service.

Overall, Yorkshire Housing’s HIAs assisted more than 18,000 customers in the 2017/18 year with a 100 per cent satisfaction rate. Layla added: “We’re devoted to helping people live independently and comfortably in their own homes and in a way that keeps their dignity.” Yorkshire Housing is one of Yorkshire’s largest social housing providers managing 18,000 affordable and social rent homes, with plans to build 3,120 more by 2021. It also provides a range of services to help people live independently in their own homes across the region. For more information visit: www.yorkshirehousing.co.uk.

ASK FOR ANGELA’ FILM BACKED BY CITY CENTRE VENUES The ‘Ask For Angela’ campaign, which supports safe dating and tackles sexual harassment in pubs, bars and clubs, launches its new promo film this week. The film, presented by staff from a number of city centre venues, highlights how people out at night are encouraged to discreetly ask for help from bar staff by going up to the bar and asking for Angela if they

are feeling unsafe or uncomfortable. This might be whilst on a date or if they are getting unwanted attention. It’s at this point bar staff take the right action because they are trained at participating ‘Ask for Angela’ venues on how best to offer the right kind of help. This might involve taking someone aside to speak in confidence, calling someone a taxi, contacting

friends or family, asking the person causing distress to leave the venue, or calling the Police. All pubs, clubs and bars are encouraged to take part and Sheffield Drug and Alcohol/ Domestic Abuse Coordination Team (DACT) has recently run the third Ask for Angela training sessions to licensed premises, in conjunction with Sheffield Rape and Sexual

Abuse Centre (SRASAC) and a result the number of bars and clubs pledging their support for the scheme has risen from 35 to 43. Alison Higgins, Domestic Abuse Strategic Manager at Sheffield City Council, said: “This is about keeping people safe discreetly and getting them out of a difficult situation quickly. This is particularly important with the rise of internet dating and dating apps. If something doesn’t feel right we encourage people to go to the bar and get the sup-

port they need.” Councillor Paul Wood, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Community Safety said: “Sheffield has a busy, thriving and safe night-time economy and we work closely with venues through our Best Bar None scheme. This campaign is a further way to help people when they’re out at night and we’re pleased to see so many venues signing up and getting their staff trained.” All venues who have undertaken the training are required to provide their in house

‘Ask for Angela’ policy and procedure and are provided with posters and window stickers that tells customers that the scheme operates in their venue. The ‘Ask for Angela’ film is available on YouTube by searching ‘ask for angela sheffield’. The list of participating ‘Ask for Angela’ venues is at www. Sheffieldbestbarnone.com and venues who would like to join the scheme should email BBN@sheffield.gov.uk

CALLING THE GOOD FOLK OF SHEFFIELD LET’S GO BOWIE ON TRAMLINES WEEKEND

The hugely popular David Bowie tribute band, The Bowie Contingent, have announced that they will play a Tramlines fringe gig on 19 July, 2019 to raise funds for Hunter’s Bar Infant School #GoGoGreen project. The #GoGoGreen project, which includes pioneering research into playground air quality by The University of Sheffield’s BREATHE project, aims to build a barrier of plants and shrubs around the school; filtering pollution from passing traffic. Money raised through ticket and bar sales for the gig, which is being hosted by High Storrs Secondary school, will help pay for the plants and materials needed for the project. The project aims to use plants and planting configurations designed by the University and industry specialists to build a green barrier that will wrap around the playground of Hunter’s Bar Infant School at the busy intersection of Sharrow Vale and Junction Road.

Jason Richford, lead singer of the Bowie Contingent, said: ”We love Tramlines weekend and it’s a thrill to play this fringe event to raise money for the #GoGoGreen project. Tramlines weekend is all about loving music, celebrating Sheffield and showcasing talent. It’s our privilege to share a stage with Belle de Jour, an exciting young band with plans to release their first recording this year. And the fact that we can raise money for such a worthy cause, which will not only improve the air quality at Hunter’s Bar Infant School, but feeds into a much bigger ambition to support other innercity schools to do the same, well... that’s just the icing on the Yorkshire Pud.” Doors open at 7.30pm, Friday 19 July at the 400 capacity High Storrs School Main Hall. The good folk of Sheffield can expect a fully licensed bar and pizza from the Nether Edge Pizza Company, an eclectic mix of Bowie classics, poetry readings

from celebrated poet and author, Rachel Bower and the newest, freshest sounds from musicians in residence; Belle de Jour. And that’s not all, lucky gig-goers could leave the venue with top-notch prizes following raffle donations from local eateries, bars, retailers and none-other than Sheffield music legend Richard Hawley, in support of the school’s drive to #GoGoGreen. Hunter’s Bar Infant School’s ambitious plans to improve the health and wellbeing of their 270 pupils, staff and families don’t stop on their doorstep. The partnership between the school, the University and the many businesses that have come forward to support this project, is the first step on what is hoped to be a city-wide intervention to improve playground air quality. The research findings and blue print of the full project will be shared with other inner-city schools with the aim of sparking similar schemes across the city.

BROTHER OF LATE TRAMLINES FESTIVAL DIRECTOR, SARAH NULTY TO RELEASE TRIBUTE SINGLE The track will be unveiled in a special performance at Tramlines 2019 as Sarah’s family and the festival continue to honour her memory. Tramlines Festival, which takes place at Hillsborough Park from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st July, is continuing to pay tribute to the late Festival Director, Sarah Nulty who passed away just over a year ago. Following last week’s announcement that the main stage will now be known as ‘Nulty’s Main Stage’, Tramlines has announced that Sarah’s brother, James Voisey aka Jaarvo will perform a version of ‘Laura’ by British

singer-songwriter, Bat for Lashes on Saturday night from Nulty’s Main Stage. James has also made a recording of this track that is available now to buy and stream on all major platforms including Spotify and iTunes with proceeds going to Cavendish Cancer Care and Weston Park Cancer Charity. ‘Laura’ was a track that meant a lot to Sarah and her brother James, who first performed the song at Sarah’s funeral. Since then he has recorded his own upbeat version in Sheffield with George Moran and Chris Wilkinson of Fox Den Studios in Kelham Island with Ed Cosens of Reverend and The Makers, and

the Neighbourhood Choir. James Voisey said; “The passion Sarah had for Sheffield, Tramlines and life will reverberate through the hearts of those she touched for all of time. It is the biggest honour of my life to share with the sold-out Tramlines crowd just some of the love Sarah put into making the party what it is today. In addition to revenue raised from sales of the single, Tramlines 2019 will see the return of ‘Nulty’s Bar’, and on sale will be new ‘BeMoreNulty’ merchandise, designed by Sheffield artist, Tom J Newell. All profits will also go to Cavendish Cancer Care and Weston Park Cancer Charity who

provided vital care and support for Sarah and her family during her illness. Sales from the backstage Nulty’s Bar and from the hugely popular BeMoreNulty merchandise and t-shirts, designed in association with Dropdead Clothing, were worn by hundreds of festival goers and band members alike in 2018, resulting in £30,000 raised for Weston Park Cancer Charity and Cavendish Cancer Care. Tramlines aims to raise even more funds via these streams in 2019, including new rainbow-coloured BeMoreNuty designs, to help fund resources and crucial research carried out by the

Sheffield-based charities. Sarah, who was director at Tramlines from 2013 – 2018, was a well-loved, galvanising force in Sheffield and as such, her death at the age of just 36, provoked a huge response with festival fans and industry alike. Since her passing, Sarah has posthumously received several awards. These include the Outstanding Contribution Award at the AIF Awards, the Outstanding Contribution to Festivals Award at the UK Festival Awards, and a Civic Award from the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Magid Magid (now MEP). A memorial plaque

was also unveiled on the original site of the Tramlines’ Main Stage on Devonshire Green in Sheffield city centre. Additionally, a new award category titled the ‘Sarah Nulty Women In

Festivals Award’, was established by the UK Festival Awards in 2018 to recognise the achievements of women in the festival industry. Tramlines organisers continue to honour

Sarah’s legacy in and outside of the festival. As well as on site at Tramlines 2019, the BeMoreNulty merchandise can also be purchased from the Dropdead website: http://bit.ly/ BeMoreNulty-Merch.

Reports of Andy Page at doing good prompted an extra special acoustic set outside The Fishpond. Aided by Craig Wheeldon and without amplification they both did a few numbers that caught a several eyes. Around the rear of The Fishpond Diamond Bridges, a threesome featuring the talents of singersongwriter Mick Wilson on drums and vocals did a decent

one of several singer songwriters who graced the Matlock Bath Festival. Some of these are fine, as I haven’t got the talent to stand and play, but this young man really was good. He had personality, good musicianship and worked the crowd well with stuff by Elvis and The Killers to name but two. Heading back to The Midland was a wise move as the place was packed with dancers who were showing their appreciation towards Water For Dogs, another

threesome who mixed electro reggae with strong guitar work. According to one punter, they were epic. Having seen the masses and heard the cheers, I have to agree. Matlock Bath Music Festival was again successful. All seven venues on this half mile of music were busy, wellmannered, and yet again reaffirmed my belief that it really is a cracking festival. And I have the t-shirt to prove it!

CRITICAL MILESTONE FOR £40M PARKWOOD SPRINGS LEISURE DESTINATION Plans to create an internationally-recognised sport and leisure destination at Parkwood Springs are one step closer with proposals to agree a lease for preferred developer Extreme Destinations Ltd to fulfil its ambitions for the project going before the Council’s Cabinet this week. Sheffield City Council has announced its intention to sign an agreement for lease for the 21-hect-

are site with Extreme as it works towards developing a modern ski slope, mountain biking trails, a hub building with shops, bars and restaurants as well as visitor accommodation, alongside a major international operator. This will allow the developer to move ahead with its investment proposals. It is expected that initial phases of the site could boost the Sheffield economy with investment of up to £40m, and once the

entire scheme is complete that could eventually top £60million, more than 400 new jobs and a million new visitors to the city each year. The agreement for a 150-year lease will set specific terms for the redevelopment between the Council and Extreme, driving early progress on critical activities including submitting a full planning application. If the timescales are met, work could begin on the

site in 2020. Councillor Mazher Iqbal, Cabinet Member for Business and Investment for Sheffield City Council, said: “This much anticipated project to create an internationallyrecognised destination just a mile from our city centre is now even closer to becoming a reality. “We believe that Extreme Destinations share our vision for this site to be the jewel in the crown of Sheffield’s Outdoor

City Strategy. They have engaged with local stakeholders and the international sports market and this agreement for lease is supported by both the council and developer. “It gives us the reassurance we need as an authority to make decisions that are best for the people of Sheffield, but also gives the developer assurance that it can proceed to a full business plan and planning permission and move the project forward. “There is still much work

to be done but this agreement gives the developer the opportunity to put its plans forward.” Since unveiling Extreme as the preferred developer for the site, formerly home to the Sheffield Ski Village, the council has secured £4.8m of Sheffield City Region Improvement Funding (SCRIF) to build a new access road to the site. Extreme will soon start to develop a full planning application for the leisure destination. Chris Lewis, Destination

Extreme destination we have planned for the city of Sheffield”. In the past year, the Council has also launched a new draft masterplan for Parkwood Springs, consulting with local businesses and residents which sets out the longterm vision for a country park in the city, close to surrounding much of the leisure destination site and connecting into existing neighbourhoods at Shirecliffe and Burngreave as well as new developments at Neepsend and Kelham.

to charge through the swim leaving dead and dying fish of all species in their wake, especially just after spawning… Some research has apparently shown that zander thrive better in coloured water where their keen eyesight offers an advantage over prey fish, with many species of less than 100mm in length suffering adversely. It was also noted that increased boat traffic supposedly leading to clouded waters had an impact, but if I said that an increase in the number of boats could be said to disturb fish eggs laid in reed beds, stir up feeding areas, and otherwise destroy breeding grounds, would that hold similar weight? It depends which side of the debate you’re on I suppose… It has also been noted that electrofishing is ineffective, often needing to be repeated and always stunning everything in the water. There is no way to differentiate between zander and other fish, so every species suffers; even if some zander are removed, it’s usually bigger fish, which just propagates an explosion in the population of juvenile fish who have no competition for prey and more importantly, no predators… it’s not rocket science is it? More mouths, less food… I’ve had extended correspondence with CRT officials who quote club match anglers as evidence for the decline in roach and gudgeon stocks and who therefore demand the removal of zander. Match anglers? Really? I rarely see more than ten match anglers on any canal stretch, and then only a Sunday, so what about the other six days a week when lure and pleasure anglers roam the banks searching for quarry? They pay for the privilege too! I had a debate with a CRT volunteer whilst on the bank about the effects of zander predation, and he was clueless! I asked him to consider pike, perch, goosander, cormorants, grebe, mink and others as predators which may affect the natural balance, but apparently it was only zander that the CRT could gain any recompense from, so they got the blame! In my opinion, the CRT are fighting a battle they have no intention of winning, but of only pursuing until there is no longer profit in it. Despite repeated attempts, I’ve had no straight answers from CRT, only obfuscation, complication and misdirection to a series of questions, but I, along with many others have pressured CRT on behalf of the zander

firmly believing that we are currently in the same situation with these predators that we were once in with pike where anglers would ‘throw them up the bank’ to misguidedly protect silverfish. I truly think that balance will prevail in waters with zander present, and that as a result, canals will attract more and more anglers keen on their first zander. So, will things ever change? May be there are signs… I’ve had brief ‘eyes on’ a report that admits that zander electro fishing is failing to control the population, and that zander sanctuaries could be established in areas of canals with already existing stocks. If removed from canal systems elsewhere, the zander, rather than being killed, can be relocated to these safe areas and the population monitored. It also encourages the issue of accreditation of more waters for zander introduction which is promising, but it does raise the question; if the CRT truly believe that zander really does damage the ecosystem of any waterway where they thrive, then why are they happy

level he wants to be. “He’s done extremely well during his time with us and it was great to have him in Portugal. It wasn’t about him coming and being on trial because we knew about his abilities. Taking him with us was basically getting to know him and what he’s about, what makes him tick and how he integrates with the players. Trips like what we have been on are invaluable for that.” The 26-year-old, capped by England at various age groups right through to U21 level, made his senior debut for the Red Devils in the League Cup in October 2010, having turned professional on his 17th birthday. Morrison starred at Old Trafford in the FA Youth Cup final against the Blades, scoring twice in the second leg before gaining more first-team experience in cup competitions under Six Alex Ferguson. In January 2012, Morrison joined West Ham for an undisclosed fee, scoring three times in 18 appearances during his time at Upton Park, which also saw him loaned to Birmingham City, QPR and

with Clint Walker

This week, I’ve noted some possible movement on the so-called canal zander problem which may be encouraging. Personally, I like zander, considering them a fine species to target on light lure gear and much fun whenever I get chance; the biggest issue I have with zander is actually finding them! As a non-native species, the law states that they cannot be returned, but this is clouded by the CRT guidance that they can be returned if ‘established’ (define established!) or placed in a closed water with appropriate accreditation where there is no chance of spreading. But why? Allegedly introduced into the canal system sometime in the early 1970’s the zander has established a limited population and in that time, the species has found an increasing popularity with predator anglers who consider them fine sport and worthy adversaries. Believed by some to upset the natural ecosystem of the canal, they have been persecuted ever since, not least by the Canal and River Trust who seize upon evidence of captures to go and electro-fish the canal in search of them. Once found and removed, they are either euthanised, or sold into the food chain for consumption at some of the finest restaurants. But does this solve the ‘problem’ or is there another side to it? If I told you that it has been alleged that some of those in positions of authority within CRT have links to the contractors who electro-fish and sell on the zander for profit, would you be surprised? It’s a story I’ve heard many times and having submitted freedom of information requests to clarify it, a purposeful smokescreen of misinformation from CRT makes me wonder if there may indeed be some truth in it. I’ve also asked exactly who makes the decision to electrofish any affected stretch; is it the controlling club? The CRT? Natural England? The Environment Agency? I’ve still not had a definitive answer to that one either, with all parties keen to shift the blame on to the others… I am assured that clubs know little about impending removal of zander though, often receiving less than seven days’ notice of the arrival of contractors, who then proceed

FAN COLUMN BY CHRIS PLATTS

The former Sheffield United manager has left Sheffield Wednesday, as the former Sunderland manager is set to take over Newcastle United. It seems as though the former Birmingham City and Aston Villa manager doesn’t care much for footballing loyalty. After chairman Dejphon Chansiri allowed Bruce to delay his arrival at The Owls for some personal time with his family, it seems like Bruce has betrayed his trust and left the club in the lurch. With only a few weeks to go until the new season, Wednesday will now be looking for a new manager to take over quickly so preparations do not stall before they have started. Chris Hughton is current fans favourite having led both Brighton and Newcastle to promotion out of the Championship. This saga will probably take time to be resolved as Chansiri will still be looking for compensation for Bruce and his backroom staff. With rumours of a disagreement over compensation forcing the resignation there could be lengthy court proceedings. This wouldn’t be the first time this happened to Bruce as he had to delay taking over Birmingham City after leaving Crystal Palace in similar circumstances. With Newcastle fans also not happy about his potential appointment this could turn out to be a disastrous move for Bruce and Co.

Exciting forward player Ravel Morrison is the latest addition to Chris Wilder’s Premier League squad. Following a trial period, the former Manchester United academy graduate has signed a one-year deal with an option for a longer stay with the Blades, having impressed boss Wilder and his coaching staff at Shirecliffe and during the squad’s trip to Portugal, despite missing the victory over Real Betis with a minor injury. “Ravel is an undoubted talent and we are delighted that we have put together a deal that suits all parties,” said Wilder. “I’ve spoken to a number of people about him and it is clear that he has serious ability. “We are getting a fantastic footballer with a tremendous pedigree and this is a great opportunity for Rav, we believe we can help him get back to the
