MEET THE NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK! New visuals and official names have been unveiled for the next two blocks in the Council’s Heart of the City II development scheme. The two new blocks, which were granted planning approval earlier this year, sit alongside each other and front on to Pinstone Street. The striking new CGIs
released today showcase the attractive Victorian façades on Pinstone Street that are being restored as part of the work. They also show what the new Five Ways area will look like. Five Ways is the name being given to the pedestrianised interchange where Cross Burgess Street, Charles Street, Cambridge Street and
Wellington Street meet. Situated between Pinstone Street, Cross Burgess Street and Charles Street, Block B is split into three defined uses. Plans incorporate Laycock House, a late Victorian building which has survived completely intact. Work will see a sensitive renovation of the residences and smaller

retail units within. In total, the block will feature almost 11,000 sq ft of space suitable for shops, restaurants or cafés on the ground floor, while the floors above will feature a small amount of office space. Block C is to be officially named Isaacs House. Originally erected by paperhangings merchant David Isaacs in 1904, the building sits between Pinstone Street, Cambridge Street and Charles Street. Behind the sympathetically restored Pinstone Street frontage, the building is being completely reimagined to provide 37,600 sq ft of contemporary workspace

and 10,000 sq ft of prime retail and leisure space. With a best-in-class specification, the office in Isaacs House will provide a modern, light and airy working environment, designed to support the wellbeing of its occupants and provide a platform for inspiration. Five prominently positioned retail units will be situated on the ground floor. The building will step up in height from three storeys on Pinstone Street to eight storeys on the new-build side. The office space on the top floor will offer sweeping views across the south of the city.

OVER £49MILLION OF TRANSPORT IMPROVEMENTS COULD BE ON THE CARDS FOR DONCASTER
Mayor Ros Jones and her cabinet have approved a Sheffield City Region Transforming Cities bid which could see Doncaster residents benefit from a raft of new transport initiatives. A new ‘Don corridor’ will create active travel routes and improved public transport from the west of the borough through the town centre, to the Unity development area at Hatfield and to
Doncaster Sheffield Airport. As well as local enhancements, they would contribute to improving connections across the borough and wider region. The Doncaster schemes would be part of a £220million Sheffield City Region Transforming Cities Funding bid which would see significant improvements in rail, public transport and active travel schemes across the region. The funding will help to
reduce journey times, improve punctuality and reliability of public transport, and bring about a wide range of benefits associated with active travel. Ros Jones, Mayor of Doncaster, said: “We are determined to invest in schemes which help residents get to and from places across our borough. These schemes are to improve public transport for residents and communities, support job creation
and deliver economic growth. The schemes would help cut journey times and improve punctuality and reliability of public transport. “We also want to invest in our active travel network by enhancing existing or creating new cycling and walking routes. This would enable more people to travel in a more active way, delivering health and wellbeing benefits and leading to better air quality.

THE SCRIPT RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM AND FLYDSA ARENA SHOW Irish alt-pop trio The Script start a new chapter with the November 8th release of their new album ‘Sunsets & Full Moons’ they’ll be embarking upon a UK tour next year bringing which will see them perform at FlyDSA Arena for the third time in their career on Wednesday the 26th of February 2020. Having returned with the emotive, stadium-bound first single ‘The Last Time’, ‘Sunsets & Full Moons’ is the sound of The Script - Danny O’Donoghue (vocals, piano, guitar), Mark Sheehan (vocals, guitars) and Glen Power (drums) - focusing on the inclusive, uplifting songwriting that helped them become an arena-filling band with a fervent fan base the world over. “No frills, no production, just us playing as a band,” notes Sheehan. “It’s us doing what we do best.” The Script approached the album reinvigorated following a triumphant tour in support of 2017’s #1
album ‘Freedom Child’. Again echoing their early days, the band embraced the unifying power of the simple things - killer hooks, insistent melodies and stirring sentiments. They opted to produce the album themselves, staying close to home at their unshowy space in Metropolis Studios, with help from mixing master and old friend Mark ‘Spike’ Stent (Coldplay, Beyoncé, Frank Ocean) plus Manny Marroquin (Post Malone, Lizzo, Dua Lipa) and Dan Frampton (AuRa, Maejor, Jack Savoretti). “No frills, no production, just us playing as a band,” notes Sheehan. “It’s us doing what we do best.” Tickets for The Script’s show at FlyDSA Arena on Wednesday the 26th of February 2020 are priced £32.50, £46.19 & £57.39 (including fees) go on general sale at 9:30am on Friday 18th of October 2019 available: 0114 256 56 56 or www.flydsaarena. co.uk.

It’s a five minute walk from my house to the pub. It’s a 35 minute walk from the pub to my house. The difference is staggering. I just got a new job as a street cleaner! Turns out there’s not much training involved, you just pick stuff up as you go along. Boy: *Kissing girl on couch* You wanna take this upstairs? Girl: Sure baby. Boy: Then grab the end. I can’t carry it by myself. My wife says I only have 2 faults. I don’t listen - and something else... Did you hear about the guy who lost his left arm and left leg in an accident? He’s all right now. A writer approached me today acting strange and asked me to help him find his back garden… I think he’s lost the plot. Me: I’m not saying a word without my lawyer present. Cop: You ARE the lawyer. Lawyer: So where’s my present? Earlier today someone sent me a bunch of flowers, but all the heads had been cut off. I think I’m being stalked. Yesterday I spotted an albino Dalmatian. It was the least I could do for him. My wife just accused me of having zero empathy. I don’t understand how she can feel that way. At work, my colleagues have given me the nickname “Mr. Compromise.” It wasn’t my first choice, but I’m ok with it.
My girlfriend - who is deaf - just told me: “I seriously think we need to talk.” That’s not a good sign.

WASTE NOT, WANT NOT Despite the war on waste, thousands of homeowners and renters are chucking good quality furniture or homewares, reveal British Heart Foundation (BHF). • A third of people in Yorkshire and the Humber (33%) have thrown away furniture, electrical items and homewares in good enough condition that they could have been re-used, sold or donated • 1 in 10 (10%) people in Yorkshire and the Humber say that they don’t know how to recycle their furniture and homeware. Thousands of people in Yorkshire and the Humber are choosing to bin household items or furniture that could be otherwise recycled, reused or donated, according to a new British Heart Foundation shops survey. This similar pattern is seen across the whole of the UK with 3 in 10 (30%) first time buyers and renters surveyed throwing away furniture, electrical items and homeware in good enough condition that they could have been re-used, sold or donated. The leading charity retailer says this could be linked to the rise of ‘fast furniture’ – replacing items in good condition due to rapidly changing interiors trends. According to those surveyed, the most likely reasons preventing those in Yorkshire and the Humber recycling or donating more of their furniture and homeware, were; not having the means to transport it ( 18%) wanting to get rid of things as quickly as possible ( 12%) and not being bothered to re-sell or recycle it (11%). Shockingly, one in ten of people in Yorkshire and the Humber ( 10%) admitted they wouldn’t actually know how to re-cycle furniture and homeware. The survey has been released as part of the BHF’s Reuse Revolution campaign, which is encouraging the people of Yorkshire and the Humber to shop, upcycle and donate second hand furniture. The charity say millions more people – including first-time buyers and renters
- could be benefiting from the unique, highquality and affordable items that are available second hand. The survey also found, despite the financial pressures of buying a first home or taking on a new rental property, only over a third of Yorkshire and the Humber (37%) have bought second hand furniture and homewares. Similarly, just a third (30%) have taken advantage of second hand sites like eBay and Gumtree. This suggests that thousands of first time buyers are overlooking the opportunity to find good quality, unique and affordable furniture through sources like second hand furniture shops or via online resell outlets. Allison Swaine-Hughes, Retail Director at the BHF, said: “Last year the British Heart Foundation rescued 74,000 tonnes of items from landfill due to the generous donations of our supporters. But we know that there are still so many more sofas, side boards and beds out there that aren’t yet ready for the tip and could provide an ideal and affordable answer for those looking to furnish their home on a budget. “This month we are asking the public to join the Reuse Revolution and shop, upcycle or donate their second hand furniture while helping to raise funds for life-saving research in to heart and circulatory disease. You can simply call your local shop to arrange a free donation.” Last year, the BHF reused and recycled over 42,000 tonnes of furniture and electrical products including 185,000 sofas and 50,000 TVs. This helped prevent 53,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions being released into the atmosphere. For further information on the Reuse Revolution and information about how to locate your nearest BHF shop, please visit www.bhf.org.uk/ReuseRevolution
Region’s ambulance service continues its positive momentum and receives ‘Good’ ratings from Care Quality Commission Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust has received ‘Good’ ratings for its nonemergency Patient Transport Service (PTS) and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), following the recent independent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection of these two areas and was praised for continuing the significant development of its patient services*. The CQC, as the regulator of health and social care in England, carried out a detailed inspection in these services during May 2019 and concluded that they were ‘Good’ across all categories – Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well Led - and had shown significant improvement since the last inspection in autumn 2016. The CQC report published this week praised staff for their compassion and kindness, dignity and respect, with patients consistently positive in their comments about the care they had received. It also highlighted that the Trust’s PTS, which makes just under one million patient journeys a year, had successfully addressed the issues raised three years ago. It has now moved from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ and the inspectors found many areas of excellent practice. The EOC, which handles around 2,700 emergency calls every day, consolidated its ‘Good’ rating and the inspectors highlighted the service having the quickest 95th centile call answering performance rate of all 11 NHS ambulance providers from July 2018 to January 2019. There was also positive feedback about leadership at the Trust via the new Well Led process. The report comments very positively on the culture of the organisation and the delivery of high quality patient services, with a clear commitment to continuous improvement across the organisation. The Trust was cited as engaging proactively with patients, staff, the public and local organisations to plan and manage services in a collaborative way. Rod Barnes, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to see the continued advances across the Trust reflected in the latest CQC inspection report. It reflects the hard work and commitment of staff across our PTS, EOC and leadership team. I’m immensely proud of our dedicated staff and the care they provide to patients every day. “We have a clear strategic direction and are taking forward significant plans to transform our services. Our organisational values ensure that we place patients at the heart of all that we do and our ethos of ‘One Team’ is clearly visible in the report. Whilst we recognise that we still have work to do to achieve the full extent of our vision for the future, I believe that we have the skills and energy in our workforce. “It’s great to be able to celebrate the recognition of our achievements in PTS and EOC and across all of our services in the regulator’s report and I believe this should add further to the confidence of patients and the public in the consistently high quality care provided by their regional ambulance service.” * On this occasion the inspection carried out did not include A&E Operations, Resilience or NHS 111 services.

OWLS DUO BACK NEW WESTON PARK BRAND Wednesday duo Steven Fletcher and Morgan Fox visited Weston Park Cancer Charity on Monday to support the launch of their new brand. The charity has joined forces with the cancer support centre, where many of their services are delivered, now coming under one name. Since Weston Park Cancer Charity’s formation in 1994 the organisation has

raised over £25m to fight the disease, and in the next five years aim to increase the number of patients they support by over 50%. Fletcher and Fox are the Owls’ ambassadors for the charity, having been inspired by their great work during the club’s annual Blue and White Christmas Day visits. The pair visited the hospital again in February this year to coincide with the charity’s 25th anniversary, which also saw Weston Park take over the Steel City derby at Hillsborough in March. On Monday this week, the duo took part in filming activities to promote upcoming initiatives from the charity, before visiting the hospital to greet patients.
Your focus can shift from sensitive and dreamy to realistic and practical over the course of the week. Whatever fantasies and hopeful thinking you might engage in early on, can be replaced by a determination to have things happen as you want them Aries. Call for more news and advice…
Should you make a matter public? If you decide that it is better to get something out into the open, then a Quarter Moon in a prominent zone can encourage you to do so. The early part of the week can also be a time to enjoy some pampering, so go for it, Libra. Call for more news and astral advice…
Ignore criticism and don’t let it prevent you from finishing something that’s important to you. The naysayers may be secretly jealous that you’re doing so well. Friends and loved ones will be far more supportive, so listen to them instead. One bond can develop in intensity. Call for more advice…
For much of this week Mars your co-ruler, angles awkwardly towards Saturn, which can see you faltering and perhaps holding back when you would normally be more confident. The Sun’s move into your sign though, can revitalize you and give you a sense of purpose and direction. Call for more…
In the final stages of a plan? Don’t let the costs spiral out of control at the last. Keeping things on a budget can make it more satisfying once it is done. Plus, as the Sun enters your lifestyle sector, it’s time to make a few changes that help you live your best life Gemini. Call for more astral advice…
A delightful angle between Venus and Neptune can see you keen to reach out and help close ones. Who or what is supporting you though, Archer? With asteroid Ceres merging with Jupiter in your sign, following any intuitive nudges to explore new opportunities can feed your soul. Call for more…
The Quarter Moon can be a call to finish off a household project before it gets relegated to the backburner. With just a little effort, you can do this. A dreamy aspect can also see you yearning to get away from it all. If so, an intensive focus can inspire you to set things in motion. Call for more…
Collaborating with someone on a key project? Make time to discuss the final stages so you can complete it in a timely way. While there can be frustrations associated with work or a goal, your social life sizzles with promise. An encounter could be truly mesmerizing. Call for more…
Should you trust an intuitive nudge? A potent lunar phase suggests you pay attention, as doing so might prevent you from making any unwise investments. As the Sun glides into your home zone midweek, you may become aware of what needs doing. Call for more news and astral advice…
Over the coming four weeks, you’ll have an opportunity to showcase your best talents and impress the right people. You could though, sabotage your best intentions just as you are about to reach for an opportunity. Taking baby steps in the direction of your dreams can help. Call for more news…
Need to spend money to make vital connections by attending an event or paying a membership fee? If so, it may be worth it. Factor in the cost against the potential rewards, and you’ll soon know what to do. You are well placed to take advantage of key opportunities Virgo. Call for more advice…
The week begins with a Venus/Neptune tie, that hints at the potential for romance or for inspiration concerning a creative idea. But as the Sun glides into your sector of travel and high adventure, the urge to get away from routine and traverse new territory can encourage you forward. Call for more…

ROXY ON A ROLL Over a quarter of tickets for next year’s retro Roxy extravaganza have already been sold! Promoters have been thrilled by the interest in the reunion event set for May 2020. Arundel Gate’s legendary Roxy nightclub returns on Saturday, May 9th, 2020, and is set to raise hundreds for Hallam FM’s Cash For Kids charity. The event follows the success of a Roxy reunion night and sell-out book earlier this year.
Hundreds packed into Arundel Gate’s O2 Academy in May to witness the venue being turned back into its former Roxy nightclub guise. The sprawling venue reined supreme in Sheffield in the 1980s and 1990s and the re-creation of the club got a massive thumbs up from the revellers that packed the dancefloor. Former Roxy-goer James Norton said: “It was a truly fantastic night – they got it bang on. I loved the Roxy in its heyday in
the late 1980s and this night took me straight back to my youth.” The Roxy became famous nationally as one of the venues for the ‘Hitman & Her’ TV series. Everyone from Kylie Minogue to the London Boys performed there. With a capacity in excess of 2,000, and one of the most jawdropping lightshows in the country, few venues were more high profile than the Roxy. Local author Neil Anderson used the event to gather photos
and memories from former club-goers and recently launched a special Roxy edition of his best-selling ‘Dirty Stop Out’s Guide to 1980s Sheffield’ which has been a massive success. He said: “I couldn’t believe the interest in the venue – people have very fond memories of the place.” ‘Back To The Roxy’ tickets are available from https://www. gigantic.com Tickets are £10.

SHEFFIELD SHORTLISTED – PRESTIGIOUS PLACE BRAND MARKETING AWARDS Sheffield has been shortlisted amongst an impressive lineup of international destinations for Place Brand of the Year and Best Use of Design by the City Nation Place Awards. The awards benchmark and celebrate place brand design, marketing communications and place brand strategy for towns, cities, regions, and nations around the world. Amongst the eight finalists for the Place Brand of the Year award, Sheffield will compete with the likes of Bermuda, Adelaide, Costa Rica and Denmark, before the winner is announced at the City Nation Place
Global Conference in London on 6 and 7 November, at which there will be an audience of delegates representing nation branding committees, city marketing boards, destination marketing organisations and investment promotion agencies from around the world. Along with Place Brand of the Year, Sheffield was also shortlisted in the category for Best Use of Design for the city’s new brand and ‘makes’ campaign concept. Marketing Sheffield has been working with a wide range of partners from across the city, consulting and developing a new brand for the city over

Whilst this remains unique and relevant to the city, it is product centric and does not allow us to talk about
the city’s specialisms for culture and vibrancy. Research tells us the true value of any place is the people who form it and that couldn’t be truer in Sheffield. It’s this that has become the defining theme of the new brand, in that ‘Sheffield makes people, and people make Sheffield’.” Over the last few years, Sheffield has seen a resurgence as a destination with urbanism, foreign investment, culture and booming new sectors flourishing in spite of austerity. With this in mind, Marketing Sheffield formed a brand

reset, and when it was finally time to go, with rain sweeping the horizon, I began to break down my kit ready to depart. As I pottered about, the right hand rod, armed with a popped up roach, was the one to signal interest. I wasn’t one hundred percent sure it was a fish, uncertain whether a lump of weed had drifted in again, but something wasn’t right; the rod tip twitched to the side, and that was enough to convince me that something was there, so I swept the rod aloft to set the trebles, and was delighted to feel a solid thump at the other end! Watched by a passing dog walker, I did battle with a fish which insisted on tail walking across the swim as it fought to shed the hooks. To no avail though, within a couple of minutes, a hollow bodied pike lay on the mat. It had a huge tail and good sized head, but unfortunately, not much in the middle! Nonetheless, as I prised open the toothy maw, my new accomplice was in awe of the rows of razor sharp teeth and watched as I delicately flicked the hooks aside. Held aloft, I reckon I may have got a low double figure fish on the scales had it been weighed, so I hope to meet it again later in the season when it has had time to down a few more roach; I think it will be well worth catching again! Quickly photographed, my prize was slipped back into the shallows to recover before sulking away into the depths. Constant revision of rigs and tactics had finally paid off and although it wasn’t the twenty I’d hoped to start the season with, after six pikeless months, I wasn’t too unhappy!

WARNE ‘REALLY PROUD’ AS MILLERS DIG DEEP Millers boss Paul Warne was delighted that his side managed to come away from in-form Blackpool with maximum points, despite it being a tough encounter at Bloomfield Road. The Millers fought bravely in a tightly contested first half, but they were indebted to ‘keeper Dan Iversen for maintaining parity at the interval with a couple of fine saves. However, Warne’s side took a firm grip on the game when Michael Smith notched his third goal in a week, with a predatory finish before Clark Robertson, who was a late call-up due to an injury to Joe Mattock, gave the visitors’ some much-needed breathing space with a fine volley, near the end. The goal proved crucial as Blackpool halved the deficit, in the dying minutes, when Armand Gnanduillet slotted
home from the spot after Curtis Tilt was felled in the box. Speaking to the assembled media afterwards, Warne was quick to express his pride that his side responded positively to the Millers’ coaching staff’s half-time call of arms, following a tame firsthalf display. “It’s good to win football matches which is great, and we will definitely play better than that. We weren’t at our best but away from home, we are not here to entertain the crowds, we are here to get points and that’s what we did, so I’m really proud of them.” Warne enthused. “Blackpool were causing us all sorts of problems in the first-half and I openly admit that. I’d have taken nil-nil at halftime because they were the better team. “At half-time, I asked for more movement up front and try and get behind them, like
they were doing to us in pulling our fullbacks out of position. I didn’t think we won headers in the first half, neither upfront or defensively. “If we win the headers and run a bit harder, you give yourself a chance and our second-half performance was a lot better. Overall, we defended really well. (Liam) Feeney caused us all sorts of problems with some decent balls and I think my ‘keeper deserved a clean sheet, so the penalty was a little unfortunate. “Overall, we will play better but to come
away from home and get three points then I’m happy.” Ahead of the Roses clash, Warne was thrown a curveball prior to kick-off when Joe Mattock pulled a quad muscle, in the warm-up. The Millers boss revealed, afterwards, that he opted to promote Robertson, into the starting line-up, to face his former club and the Scotsman repaid his faith – with a commanding performance at the heart of the Rotherham rearguard, which was capped with the match winning strike. “Joe came in after

was a tough day for us, but we’ve got to learn from this,” he said. “I’m disappointed with the result, we needed to show more aggression to capitalise on the game, but we missed those opportunities. It was a bad day, but at times we had chances to get back into it. “We’ll analyse the game over the weekend and get back to the drawing board on Monday morning. I don’t want to lose a day on it because
DETERMINED ENNIS IS GUNNING FOR GOALS
Darren Moore’s side were beaten at the Kassam Stadium, and Ennis says goals at key times in the game hurt them. He said: “It was a frustrating game, we got in the right positions a few times it was just a case of making the wrong decisions. “They were on top for most of the first-half so if we’d gone in at

on sprint because in fairness, if he was playing against their best attacking player, then his quad could go. I’m a pretty zerorisk manager when it comes to things like
that, as he could be out for six weeks, so I put Robbo in.” Warne added. “It’s a squad game. Someone came in off the bench, did really well and scored a goal
at his old club which is great for Robbo. It’s all about the lads and the culture we are trying to create. They all get on and want to win for each other.”
LOCAL FOOTBALL County Senior Leagues with Michael Clarke
It was a quiet weekend in the County Senior League, due to many of the league’s teams competing in County Cup competition. Premier Division We have new leaders in the Premier Division, after five goals from Justin Greenwood (including a first half hat-trick) helped Swinton Athletic to an impressive 8-1 win over Grimethorpe LLFC. The win takes league newcomers into third position, just a point behind Swinton. FORESTIERI BACK FOR OWLS Fernando Forestieri will be available for selection on Friday as the Owls make the long trip to Cardiff. The Wednesday ace has served his six-match suspension and moves back into contention for a place in the squad. The 29-year-old played 90 minutes on Sunday for the Under-
23s, as the Owls’ youth side eased to a 5-1 win over ten-man Hull City in the PDL2 clash. Wednesday’s Championship meeting with the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium will be broadcast live on Sky Sports on Friday (7.45pm). Speaking on Forestieri earlier this

winning ways for Scotland, and there were also goals from Lawrence Shankland, Stuart Findlay and Stuart Armstrong in the 6-0 win. For Palmer, the San Marino clash at a sodden Hampden
Park was his third senior cap and first victory with the Tartan Army. Scotland have two qualifying fixtures remaining in Group I, with a trip to Cyprus on 16 November and a home clash with
Garry Monk said: “He needs to put himself in contention for when he comes back. “He knows what is expected of him, and what’s needed. I had a really good chat with him, was really clear with him, and we want Fernando Forestieri at his best.”
Kazakhstan three days later. But with qualification via the group stage now out of reach, Scotland will contest in the play-offs next March for a place at Euro 2020.
Liam Palmer enjoyed a successful Sunday on the international stage with Scotland. The in-form Owls defender stored another 90 minutes for the Scots, who eased to victory in their UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against San Marino at Hampden Park. A first half hat-trick from John McGinn inspired a return to
KEEP PLAYING, KEEP IMPROVING Versatility can be a key component of the modern player’s profile and Dominic Iorfa is currently subscribing to that point of view. The towering defender made an immediate impression for the Owls in the right back berth following his arrival back in January but has elevated his popularity more recently at centre half. Irrespective of his position on the pitch, Iorfa is pleased with his progress in these parts. He said: “First and foremost I want to play games and give
my all for the team. “Regarding my position, this is the first time in my career that I’ve had a run of games at centre half and I’m enjoying it. “I played more at right back at Wolves but I feel I’m getting better and better here in the middle. “Like any position, the more you play there the better you will be. “Right now, I want to keep playing, keep improving. We have competition for places all over the team and that’s a healthy place to be for the manager.”

DEVELOPMENT DUO SIGN 2019/20
CARR JOINS ACADEMY STAFF Jack Lester believes the appointment of Rhys Carr as individual development coach will further enhance United’s SteelPhalt Academy. The former Fulham and Bristol City coach joined the Blades last month and United’s academy manager is delighted to have secured the services of Carr. Lester remarked: “As a player, I felt I improved when I was coached in small groups or on specifics to my own game and how I could effect it. “With that in mind,
this is something I really wanted to add to our coaching structure following my appointment. “By chance, I met Rhys at a conference last year and I loved the detail and his understanding of the game as he demonstrated this role. “This is an emerging role within clubs and Rhys has already done it at first-team level at Bristol City, so he will be a great addition to our ranks.” Speaking of his appointment, Carr added: “I’m really excited by this role and I’d like to thank
Jack for giving me this opportunity to join the Blades. “When you are developing players, especially those in the transition phase to the first-team, I think it’s important to have someone who is able to focus on working with players individually on what’s going to make them a professional and hopefully a success at senior level. “It’s going to be my focus to work with the players on the grass, refining aspects of their game and reviewing their performances. I’m excited by the players I’ve seen so far.”
Callum Gribbin and Ta’Shae Andall-Gibbons have joined United’s development squad on contracts until the end of the season. Gribbin, formerly of Manchester United, has impressed whilst playing as a trialist for the U23s, whilst highly rated AndallGibbons arrives from Rising Ballers Academy. Speaking of the duo, Academy Manager Jack Lester remarked:
“We are delighted to add Callum and Ta’Shae to the group and we’re confident we can further their development in the coming months. “We’ve had to move quickly to secure the
signatures of both boys as there was interest in them from elsewhere, but luckily for us they saw their immediate futures here and now we want to work hard to improve them as players.”
