City comes together to protect ECO SOFAS Don’t Buy New! RE-UPHOLSTERY is the answer! businesses amid Covid-19 Sheffield’s Business Response Group have launched a new Business Recovery Plan that brings together civic, city and business leaders to address the impact of Covid-19 on Sheffield’s businesses and jobs. The plan, in cooperation with Sheffield City Council, provides a framework for collective action that aims to mitigate the immediate problems businesses are facing as well as provide a strategy for future recovery.
As the economic challenge posed by Covid-19 continues to evolve, it is vital for businesses across all sectors to adapt to the changing situation in order to survive. Despite the difficulties they are up against, many businesses are demonstrating their creativity, resilience and flexibility in the face of the crisis, but a robust response that ensures a resilient economy will require a collective effort, which the new plan sets out to achieve. Councillor Mazher Iqbal,
Cabinet Member for Business and Investment at Sheffield City Council, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on Sheffield’s business and hospitality sector this year and continues to do so. As many businesses face fresh uncertainty over new restrictions, we want them to know that we are working hard to ensure that they are supported to continue to trade safely and to protect jobs in the hardest hit industries. “We
are working with a wide range of organisations and private sector businesses across the city to understand how we can help address urgent needs collectively, to make it as easy as possible for businesses to get the help they need. “There is no doubt effects of the pandemic will be felt for a long time to come, which is why it’s so important that we begin to plan for the long-term recovery of our economy and begin work now to ensure that Sheffield’s
position as a city that is a great place to work, live, visit and invest in is maintained into the future.”
More information on support for businesses can be found on the Sheffield City Council website. Our Business Sheffield Advisors are also on hand to offer advice. Contact them by calling 0114 224 5000 or via email at businesssheffield@ sheffield.gov.uk

News, Information and Advice
A community with a zest for later life
An apartment at Jacob’s Gate in Sheffield is far more than just a new home. Our communities offer a range of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments in a safe, secure and happy environment, with a circle of friends right on your doorstep. In uncertain times, that’s more important than ever. Many of our Homeowners have told us how much it helps to have such a strong sense of community and a friendly management team on-site 24/7 365 days a year to provide advice, assistance and moral support. Have more fun, make more friends Enjoy the best of both worlds: a beautiful, selfcontained apartment of your own where you can retreat to enjoy your own company; and a thriving community offering new friendships, social occasions and safe activities on your doorstep that you can dip into whenever you want to. Less maintenance, more ‘me time’ When the maintenance of your house and garden become a full-time job, you can find yourself lacking the time and energy to do anything else. At Jacob’s Gate, you no longer have to worry about maintenance or mowing. All apartments have their own private patio or balcony and everyone can enjoy the beautiful, landscaped gardens, offering quiet corners, a summer house and relaxing spaces. Adlington Homeowner Mabel Griffiths has been enjoying her newfound freedom at The Bridges in Macclesfield. “I feel like a lady of leisure really - being waited on and not having to do a lot. We’ve got so much more leisure time to do what we want to do’’. Safety and security One of the aspects that appeals to many Homeowners is that we can help create tailored personal care packages to suit individuals’ needs. Be it short-term support after an operation, or more regular, long-term personal care. Together with our local care partner, we ensure a flexible solution to suit you. During the UK lockdown, our team shopped for our Homeowners, collected prescriptions and created ‘pop-up shops’ to provide a safe and easy way to pick up everyday essentials. When our restaurants had to temporarily close, our catering teams offered the same high standard of freshly-prepared, lunchtime meals and delivered them directly to our Homeowners’ front doors. Pets are welcome too We know that animals are often part of the family, so we’re always happy to welcome wellbehaved pets to our retirement communities. Award-winning choices for the older generation Three of our communities have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development in the UK at the WhatHouse? Awards. The judges recognised our unique approach to independent living, praising the fact that Homeowners don’t have to compromise on their independence, privacy and social life. If you would like to find out more, our marketing suite at Jacob’s Gate, on Troutbeck Road, Sheffield, is now open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm for private appointments only. Call our sales team on 0114 553 9554 to find out more or visit Adlington.co.uk.
urgent appeal for plasma donors
NHS Blood and Transplant is urging people in Sheffield who’ve had coronavirus during the current lockdown to register as blood plasma donors. People who’ve had the virus can donate their antibody-rich plasma, which could save the lives of people who are still seriously ill. The high number of cases in the area means more and more people could donate and more and more people could benefit from transfusion. Around 600 donations have been made in Sheffield so far, at the donor centre in Cathedral Court. People can register as donors online. Around 10 people have received transfusions of plasma at hospitals in Sheffield since the treatment began to be used in April. NHS Blood and Transplant is collecting blood plasma for COVID treatment – known as convalescent plasma – around the country. The neutralising antibodies in the plasma could stop the virus spreading. An NHS Blood and Transplant spokesperson said: “If you’ve had coronavirus, donation is a way you can help the city during any lockdown. “We urgently need people from Sheffield to donate to help treat patients in the trials and make sure stocks can be made available if the trials are a success. We especially need male donors as they generally have higher antibody levels.” Convalescent plasma is being collected at NHSBT’s 23 donor centres around the country, and several pop-up donor centres. Plasma is being collected for use in the RECOVERY and REMAP-CAP trials, and if the trials are successful, general use in hospitals. Donation takes about 45 minutes. Your body usually replaces the donated plasma and donated antibodies. People can donate plasma as often as every week. Anyone who has had coronavirus, either a test result or the symptoms, can offer to donate by calling 0300 123 23 23 or visiting www.nhsbt.nhs.uk

Eric Eyre go the extra mile to provide an exceptional service and will take responsibility for ensuring everything is perfectly organised to deliver a fitting tribute to your loved one’s life story. “Just as other aspects of life have evolved, so has society’s approach to funerals, with modern funerals a very different affair to the traditional, formal black-tie events of years gone by,” says Wayne Pickering, manager at Eric Eyre Funeral Service. “For many, a funeral has moved from being a sombre affair to a celebration of life – complete with all that you’d expect from any other celebration, including music, entertainment and laughter That is why we are always on hand to offer guidance on the many ways we can add a personal touch, just let us know what you would like, and we will do our utmost to meet your requirements.” “ With over 20 years’ experience of the industry, and many years’ previous experience with John Fairest, Wayne was offered the opportunity to join Eric as manager in 2017, “I joined John Fairest as a hearse driver in 1997 and was later promoted

to funeral director. It was there that I learnt how to arrange and conduct funerals, as well as the correct way to handle and line coffins and how to prepare the deceased for the family to pay their respects. This gave me a full scope of all aspects of the job and after ten years ofservice I was offered the position of manager at a new branch on Abbey Lane, which I accepted, and is now a well-established business. In September 2017 I was offered the opportunity to join the team at Eric Eyre’s and to ‘move back home’, as I say, as I live local to both branches. It was, and still is, a fantastic opportunity for me to grow and develop an already friendly family run business and provide our local community with a warm and compassionate service.” Completing the team at High Green is John Walton, who has been with the company for over 20 years and Sharon Clayton who joined in July 2017, while Beverley Travis and Vera Gregory look after the branch at Sheffield Lane Top, which opened four years ago. “Our aim is to be there for our clients in every way that we can and make sure that their loved one is sent on their final journey exactly as they would have wanted. Your first point of contact will be the person you deal with throughout the process and whether the death has occurred at home, in a hospital or elsewhere, we will guide from the initial arrangement all the way through to directing the funeral. We even provide help following the service, should you need any further support or guidance.” If you need help arranging a funeral for your loved one, contact Eric Eyre Funeral Service.

Advertorial
To shut or to serve That is the substantial meal problem CityGrab have teamed up with their sister company ChefChef.Store and event caterers PJ taste, to create options for those brave or desperate enough to trade through these next few weeks. Now that a substantial meal is a prerequisite for visiting a pub, the thorny question of how to open properly remains unresolved. Many simply won’t be able to afford the wages of kitchen staff, either at all, or during quieter shifts. As pubs weigh up their options, CityGrab have three opportunities for venues who decide to try and operate but are unable to open a kitchen. For all options we are promoting
the idea of a ‘plateage fee’. Allowing pubs to charge a back to front version of ‘corkage’ - the mainstay of BYOB venues over the years. One option is to join a buddy system with one of CityGrab's outlets. The bar effectively becomes a broker for the customer and orders meals via CityGrab for consumption in the next hour. CityGrab will offer a '99p per mile' delivery as a two week introductory offer from Go Live. Diners can expect their food to arrive within half an hour, with the pub charging a surcharge for the table. This can help keep two independents viable at the same time. Alternatively - or to compliment the above with ChefChef.store and PJ Taste we have developed a lunchtime and evening ready meal package. Lunch time meals are budget frozen meals, with evening meals pre-booked off a five plate menu and delivered ready to heat on the night. All of the above will be supported by extensive marketing through the CityGrab marketing, PR and social media channels. We know it's not ideal and it might not be enough but if it helps one or two venues get through these crazy times then we reckon it's worth it. If you are interested in joining the scheme or finding out more, get in touch with the team on hayley.hirst@citytaxis.com

Angling Trust launches major campaign to end pollution of our waters The Angling Trust today launches a major campaign to halt the decline in Britain’s waters and protect the environment for future generations. With every water body in England assessed against the Water Framework standard failing, our rivers, lakes and coastal waters are in crisis with pollution from farming, sewage, plastics and litter the main cause. Our Anglers Against Pollution campaign aims to give anglers a voice in ensuring this Government lives up to its rhetoric on improving our environment and meets its own legal responsibilities. The campaign calls for: • Better monitoring of our waters • Proper enforcement of existing laws and regulations • Stricter punishments against polluters that discourages them from polluting again • A review of existing laws to help close loopholes Together with climate change, pollution in rivers, lakes and estuaries is having a catastrophic effect on plants and wildlife – and the biggest threat is in freshwater species. A recent WWF Living Planet Report estimated an 84 per cent loss in freshwater biodiversity. Combined sewage overflows (CSOs) are meant to only allow water companies to pump raw sewage into our rivers in exceptional circumstances. Yet in 2019, 6,508 CSOs released untreated sewage into our rivers 204,134 times. In total, they discharged raw sewage for 1.53 million hours across nine water companies. Exceptional circumstances? At the same time, the Environment Agency seemed to be turning a blind eye. Its own river quality monitoring programme reduced the number of samples taken by over a quarter in the last five years, from 126,723 in 2014 to 94,408 in 2019. And the number of places it took those sample from was reduced from 17,970 to 14,498. Worryingly, the number of river habitat surveys undertaken by the Agency crashed from 312 in 2014 to just eight in 2019. It is not only the monitoring of rivers that are suffering. Enforcement of the rules has been devastated, too. A good example is a group of regulations called the Farming Rules for Water. Introduced in 2018, these rules require good farming practice so that farmers manage their land both to avoid water pollution and to benefit their business. Yet due to a lack of resources, the Environment Agency cannot enforce these rules properly. With such few staff, it is estimated each farm in England is likely to get a visit to check they are following the rules about once every 100 years. Stuart Singleton-White, Angling Trust’s Head of Campaigns, said: “The Agency is struggling, but it is hardly surprising when it has seen its budget reduced by 57 per cent since 2010. It is hard to see how such drastic cuts are benefiting the taxpayer, but it is easy to see how our
rivers are paying the price. “The waters we fish are in crisis and things are becoming worse, not better. This Government has repeatedly said that the UK wishes to be a world leader in conserving both the environment and biodiversity but has frequently failed to back this up with action. Enough is enough!” Jamie Cook, CEO of Angling Trust & Fish Legal, said: “The Angling Trust has been campaigning for cleaner waterways since 1948 and through our Anglers Against Pollution campaign seeks to give anglers a voice in the fight for a better future for our environment by holding the Government to account for its promises and its responsibilities. “Our waterways are suffocating from all forms of pollution – from agricultural runoff to plastics, chemical pesticides to raw sewage. Time is no longer a luxury we can afford in the fight for a cleaner tomorrow for our environment, our fish and our fishing.”

Anglers Against Pollution has already attracted support from high-profile anglers. Marina Gibson, founder of the Northern Fishing School and specialist game angler, said: “We have laws in place that should be protecting our waterways from pollution, but they are simply not being enforced in a meaningful way. Everyone wants to blame the Environment Agency, but we really need to be scrutinising the Government and asking why enforcement is so under resourced and de-prioritised. It’s time to invest in enforcement, incentivise the updating of sewage systems, and ensure that companies and individuals who pollute our rivers are held to account. If we don’t act now it will be too late.” The Angling Trust is calling on anglers to support Anglers Against Pollution by signing our petition. at anglingtrust.net/get-involved/anglers-againstpollution

UNITED PUSH CHAMPIONS ALL THE WAY
Sander Berge’s penalty gave the Blades an early lead, only for Roberto Firmino to level just before the break. Mo Salah had a goal disallowed by VAR for offside in the second half, before Diogo Jota headed home the game’s decisive goal to deny the visitors what would have been a deserved point against the odds.

For the clash against Liverpool, Wilder made three changes from the side that drew with Fulham. Former Red Brewster was handed his full debut, whilst Ampadu and Osborn also started. McGoldrick and Norwood were named amongst the substitutes, but Lowe missed out with concussion. After a positive start from the Blades, Egan had to be alert to the danger and clear off the line with Salah lurking after Mane had got in behind from Robertson’s ball down the left channel and rounded an advancing Ramsdale. Lundstram was then booked for a lunge on Salah, before Alexander-Arnold tried an outrageous effort from the resulting freekick that required tipping over. But on 11 minutes, United were on the right side of a tight VAR review that adjudged Fabinho’s foul
Garry Monk reflected on a bleak afternoon at Hillsborough and says the team must improve to keep chipping away at the points deficit. Luton emerged triumphant thanks to a second half goal from Pelley Mpanzu to condemn the Owls to defeat. And Monk acknowledged the performance was not of the standard he expects: “We have to improve, we have to be better than that. It wasn’t good enough and we will be back in training tomorrow. “We’re not getting the breaks, the sending-off was a bit soft but we gave the referee the decision to make. “We had one disallowed, we could have had a penalty, but I’m not making excuses, we weren’t good enough today.” On a brighter note, Monk gave a positive update on the injury front, with Tom Lees, Dominic Iorfa and Izzy Brown nearing contention. He added: “Tom, Dom and Izzy are getting closer and of course you miss players of that quality. “Wednesday at Rotherham will probably come too soon for Massimo Luongo and we will continue to assess him.”
on McBurnie was inside the area after referee Dean had originally awarded a free kick. From the spot, BERGE confidently sent Alisson the wrong to fire the Blades in front. The hosts understandably enjoyed plenty of possession at times, but United were keeping an excellent shape and pressing high when possible and midway through the first period had an excellent chance to go two in front. Ampadu’s ball forward looking for Brewster picked out McBurnie, but under pressure from Alexander-Arnold, the striker dragged his effort wide of the far post. United were getting chances on a regular basis now and only an excellent save from Alisson denied Osborn with a first time effort after McBurnie and Brewster and combined to free Baldock on the right. At the other end, Salah fashioned an opportunity for Henderson but Stevens put his body on the line to block before Egan hoisted clear as Salah looked to get on the end of AlexanderArnold dink in the area. The game continued to be open as United had two further appeals for penalties rebuffed in quick succession. From Baldock’s deep cross, AlexanderArnold appeared to impede McBurnie but Dean waved away appeals, before Berge went down over the outstretched leg of Jota, this looked a stronger appeal, but it was turned down following a brief VAR check. Four minutes before the end of the first period, Liverpool eventually broke United’s resistance. Henderson whipped in a ball from the right, Ramsdale saved Mane’s header but the rebound fell kindly for FIRMINO to tap into the empty net. Moments later, with the last action of note, Ramsdale then came to United’s rescue, excellently denying Salah when clean through on goal. Like the first half, United were positive at the beginning of the second too. Patient build-up play
ended with a deep Lundstram cross being nodded down by Berge, but Baldock’s rasping effort to a deflection to send it off target. Liverpool then threatened at the other end, but on two occasions United snuffed out the danger, before Salah fired over. Burke replaced Brewster and his blistering pace almost got United in on goal twice in as many minutes. Firstly, Alisson took an age with a back pass but unfortunately Burke’s block tackle ran safe for the hosts. Then on the left, Burke left Fabinho in his wake only to see a powerful effort blocked by Gomez. But at the other end, Liverpool had the ball in the Blades net twice in quick succession. Thankfully VAR confirmed Salah was offside from AlexanderArnold’s ball forward, meaning his well-taken volley was chalked off, but the hosts hit the front on 64 minutes as JOTA header past Ramsdale from Mane’s cross. Stevens was carded for a foul on Jota, as United continued to carry a threat in pursuit of a point. Egan started a move that ended with Basham having a shot parried by Alisson after good work by Berge. McGoldrick’s first involvement was almost a crucial one, but his effort was just too high after a poor header by Fabinho from Osborn’s cross. As United threw bodies forward, Liverpool, namely Salah looked to kill the game off, but having turned Egan he struck the post with a dink over Ramsdale. United piled numbers forward and Ampadu, who was excellent in possession, fired high from distance, before Burke had a good chance deep into three minutes of added time, but from McBurnie’s header down, the substitute couldn’t get his effort on target and unfortunately United left Merseyside empty handed despite a very resilient showing against the champions.
Flint named in Team of the Week
Aden Flint has been named in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Week. The big defender put in a strong performance at Hillsborough on Saturday in a game that unfortunately saw ten-man Wednesday beaten 1-0 by Luton. The Cardiff loanee reached an impressive landmark against the Hatters as he made his 400th career appearance. The Championship Team of the Week is decided by statistics from WhoScored.com, with Flint earning an overall score of 7.9 at the weekend.

Trenton Wiggan A Blades pioneer
“So many memories,” says Trenton Wiggan as he swept the edge of the Bramall Lane turf glancing back into the direction of The Kop. The former United striker inhales a deep breath as he takes in the surroundings of a place which is now much-changed since his playing days in the early ‘80s, but still holds a special place in his heart. “I still follow the club through thick and thin,” he smiles, as he takes another glance around the stadium. This October is Black History Month and Trenton was one of the early forerunners in a Blades shirt, believed to be only the third black footballer to have represented United after Arthur Wharton (1928-1931) and Ian Benjamin (1978-1979). Born in Jamaica, Trenton and his family moved to Sheffield in the early ‘60s and he quickly developed an appetite for sport, initially athletics, before focusing on football. After being selected for Sheffield, South Yorkshire and ultimately England Schoolboys, a bright future lay ahead. United snapped up the tall and quick centre-forward and before he even signed professional forms, he was making his senior debut five weeks before his 17th birthday in 1979 against Doncaster Rovers. “I remember a United delegation arriving at our house to sign me up,” Trenton recalls as he casts his mind back to his early days at the Lane. “My mother was all about education, but overnight she became my agent when they were there talking to me! “The experience was amazing. I was a young lad from Pitsmoor and I was playing in a professional setting. Derek Dooley never missed an opportunity to pull my leg about having to excel since he was also from Pitsmoor! “I have to say I was comfortably quicker than another Sheffield based player; Andrew Walker aka Chalky,” Trenton continues with a grin. “He was quite a decent hard tackling midfielder, who as it happens, is also the father of Kyle Walker. Kyle might just have edged me in that department though....... might!” After four appearances in 1979/80, Trenton featured 26 times in the following season which unfortunately ended in relegation, before also playing on 14 occasions in all competitions as United won the Division Four title in 1981/82. During this period, the English game could be a tough environment for black footballers trying to make their way in the game, as they were regularly targeted by sections of the terraces to some appalling racial abuse. “I was just pinching myself at the prospect of playing,” says Trenton who would overall make 38 appearances, scoring five goals, in all competitions for the Blades. “I wasn’t mature enough to really know what was going on. “I was playing for United and I won’t name the other club. The first incident I recall was very similar to what happened to John Barnes. Someone threw a banana onto the pitch, I wanted to get to it and eat it, but a steward beat me to it and did the same! That’s when it hit me what was happening, and it raised my own awareness.” After he left the Blades in 1982, Trenton enjoyed a successful career in non-league with the likes of Gainsborough Trinity, Scarborough, Frickley Athletic, Bishop Auckland and Buxton. “When I was at Gainsborough, I remember a young ref trying to make a name for himself, it was Uriah Rennie,” Trenton reveals. “He was managing Caribbean Sports Club which is based in Ecclesfield. An opportunity as a sports development worker arose, which was perfect for me. I applied and got the post which started my career working in the community. “I met people like Howard Holmes and others who were doing similar work. I helped create an organisation called the Black Community Forum which used to interface with the council and other institutions across Sheffield. “I had the opportunity to start a Leisure and Recreational Management course at Sheffield University. I began this course and met a chap called Satish Sachdeva and he set up an organisation called Sheffield Positive Action Training Consortium which I was involved in. “I also headed an organisation in Barnsley - Black and Ethnic Minority Initiative.” Fast forward to 2020, and there have been strides made in recent months through the Black Lives Matter movement which has gained momentum globally, with sport playing a huge role. At the same time as this article was put together, the Premier League also launched the next phase of its No Room For Racism campaign, whilst the FA and Kick It Out are promoting their Take A Stand initiative. Trenton believes he has seen change, but, like many, knows there is still a long way to go. “I think that there has been change, but hopefully one day we don’t have to have the positive action programmes because there is absolute equality for everyone,” he says. “I want to mention my mate Rob Perry who is a huge United fan, because we were talking about what was happening in the world recently, and the incidences where black people are being treated as second class citizens. I just think that now is the time for the wider community to respond. In Jamaica there is a saying - each one, teach one - and if we can continue to do that in terms of racism - eventually - it will be eradicated.” There will be a full feature with Trenton in the next edition of UTB - United’s official matchday programme - where he goes into further detail about his experiences with United and his community work following the end of his playing career.

Moore: Rovers needed more cutting edge
Darren Moore thinks that Rovers lacked cutting edge in the final third despite dominating most of the game. A goal from Josh Sims was not enough for Rovers to take anything out of the game against Crewe Alexandra as the visitors got away with three points. Moore said: “When I look back we had the better chances, but we just didn’t capitalise on them. It was a great free kick from Harry Pickering. It’s a moment of brilliance from the free kick which has ended up winning them the game. “On the basis of the game – I felt we deserved something out of it. I have said to the players that our final touches on the ball and passes didn’t really open them up. At times I wanted us to be a little bit more assured with it. “It has been a solid week for us. This has been a typical week like I experienced last season, in terms of the relentlessness of the schedule and that’s why it’s important you don’t get too high on the highs and too low on the lows.” The Rovers boss was full of praise for Crewe who came and executed an excellent game plan against his side. He added: “Crewe went man-for-man and they were dogged in their approach which is fair play to them. Despite that we still created some great entries into their box. “From our final contact on the ball to their defending it alluded us in the end. You have to give credit to them because they came and worked hard. “There were moments of brilliance where we showed our qualities in time but we didn’t keep that power in the final third.”
Reaction important for Sims
Josh Sims says Rovers will dust themselves down and go again after being beaten 2-1 by Crewe Alexandra in Sky Bet League One. The defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium was Rovers’ first on home soil this season, and Sims says they have to get it out of their system quickly. He said: “It was a disappointing one for us, we had good chances at 1-1 to go on and win it and we have to learn from that. “We have another game coming up quickly so that will be good for us, we will look at the areas we’ve conceded from and put that right. “It’s tough to take after being on such a high from Tuesday, but we have to make sure we’re not too down about it.” Sims brought Rovers back level in the first-half with his first goal in English football, and he says it was a nice moment for him personally. He added: “To get my first goal in England is something I’m proud of, I managed to square up the defender and finish it in the far corner. “It’s a shame there were no fans in the stadium to see it but we’re getting used to that being the case now. “We have to take positives from it and responding immediately after the first goal was good from us and we didn’t let our heads go down.”
We needed to take advantage when we were on top Warne
Rotherham United boss Paul Warne expressed his pride at his side’s performance - especially in the first half - but admitted they needed to take advantage during the period of the game that they were on top as they fell to defeat at Reading. The Millers turned in arguably their best first half display of the season, dominating possession and the majority of what proved to be half chances, and were desperately unlucky to find themselves behind at the break. They started the second period in a similar vein but in their quest to draw level, were punished by the table-topping Royals. Speaking after the game, Warne explained that failing to capitalise on their early pressure ultimately cost them taking any of the points back up to South Yorkshire. “Away from home against top of the league I think we must have had 60 or 70 percent possession in the first half. “We were the team playing on the front foot and I thought we passed the ball really well but without creating enough clear chances. “Obviously for them to score - I think probably the first time they were in our box in the 44th minute - was a massive suckerpunch. “It looked marginally offside but from my angle I’m saying it and I don’t honestly know. “Second half we came out again and kept playing quite well but again without creating. It came to later on in the game and it felt like the definition of insanity - to keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome. “We changed it and went two up front and young George had a chance, so did Freddie and we went three at the end. “Then we got done with a corner, which was my fault because I pushed Freddie up thinking there was 15 minutes left and we might get something on the counter. “The lads concede and that’s on me. Then there was a ball down the middle to give away a penalty, which wasn’t what the lads deserved. “Overall, I’m pleased with the performance but we can see how hard it is to create clear cut chances and half chances need to go in when you’re away from home. “Mickel has had a couple of tough games and he just looked a bit jaded. I could have had him on the bench but if he’s jaded would I put him on? Possibly not. I had Sads on the bench as another outlet and quite a lot of attacking options. “I don’t think we’ve got any injuries which is good. We’re a little bit battered and bruised and disappointed but on the whole I think we’re good.”
Club Statement - Millers and Norwich charged by FA Rotherham United FC and Norwich City FC have been fined £5,000 each after admitting a charge for a breach of FA Rule E20 and accepting the standard penalty. Both clubs failed to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during an EFL Championship fixture on Saturday 17 October 2020.
