at last - a lifeline for clubland as roadmap revealed As the government revelead its longawaited roadmap for unlocking, many clubs and pubs in South Yorkshire breathed a sigh of relief as the prospect of opening their doors once more finally became a reality. Although there are still a few weeks to go, there is now a very real prospect that, before too long we can once again enjoy a pint and some of the finest local talent playing live

once again. Couple who have delayed and postponed their wedding arrangements several times can also once again look forward to finally tying the knot in the company of friends and family as 21st June was declared the provisional end of all legal restrictions. There is even the opportunity for football fans to enjoy one game this season, as Sheffield

United will host Burnley for the final game of the season, shortly after the 17th May re-opening of major stadia - which will also give other entertainemnt venues such the Arena the opportunity to open their doors once again. While foreign travel is still very much in the balance, holidays here in the UK are now set to go ahead with hotels and all holiday facilities opening from 17th May, ahead of

the proposed end of all legal restrictions. The governmanet has allowed itself a generous timeframe to review all its measures, to hopefully prevent the need to delay any re-opening. Sadly there will probably be a few casualties among venues who simply couldn’t survive the extended forced closure, but from our conversations with many of the clubs and pubs they are simply

itching to get the doors open again! And spare a thought for the many artists who entertain the public week in week out - it’s more than twelve months since the bands were allowed to play, and there have only been limited opportunities for many of the solo and duo performers to earn a living - so once the time comes let’s all get out there and celebrate their return!
