SHEFFIELD OLYMPIAN HELPS PROMOTE CITY The Outdoor City have launched a new promotional video showcasing what Sheffield has to offer for visitors, residents and businesses alike. Sheffield resident Shauna Coxsey, one of the lead figures in the Team GB Olympic climbing squad (action on the wall in Tokyo starts Monday 3rd August), provides the narration as the short film weaves through culture and the arts, advanced manufacturing and healthcare, digital and technology, the outdoors and city life – with a strong message that Sheffield is a

place that makes you feel at home. Alongside work commissioned by Marketing Sheffield, it features footage supplied by many organisations and institutions across the city, including both universities, Sheffield Theatres, World Snooker, Doc/Fest, Museums Sheffield, Tramlines, and even showcases a couple of clips from the forthcoming ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ film, to be released by Amazon Prime on 17th September (produced by Warp Films, directed by Sheffield’s own Jonathan

Butterell, and filmed on location in and around the city). The soundtrack is also part of Sheffield’s story, featuring a song performed by local group 65daysofstatic who have successfully championed the city’s inventive approach to music around the world, headlining their own tours and supporting bands like The Cure. The film is released as Sheffield gears up for ‘Summer in the Outdoor City’, showcasing upcoming events such as Get Together, No Bounds and Off the Shelf as well as free,

community and outdoor things to do across Sheffield this summer – and ties in to a new national tourism campaign to promote The Outdoor City as a staycation destination. Councillor Julie Grocutt, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Community Engagement and Governance said, “It’s impossible to fit everything Sheffield has to offer into one short video, but this film captures the spirit of what our city is really about. It shows that we are a vibrant, cultured, energetic city and I hope it helps to put Sheffield on the map as a welcoming

nominate a community hero! national disability strategy healthy tip from heart Ahead of the 2021 Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor survey goes live - have your say York Racecourse and Welcome to research uk - peel to stem Festival, Yorkshire are calling for people in Sheffield to

In the UK, it is estimated that we waste 6.6million tonnes of food each year, with 4.5million tonnes of that being edible food. “Peel-to-Stem” or “Root-to-Stem” is a growing food trend that focuses on using the parts of fruits and vegetables that we wouldn’t typically eat, such as the leaves, skins, seeds, and stalks. Quite often, we may throw away and waste parts of fruits and vegetables such as the skins, but quite often, these parts can actually be the most nutritious. For example, vegetables and potatoes consumed with their skins on can contain more fibre than without the skins, and a lot of nutrients found within fruits are contained in or just under the skin. Increasing your fibre intake can help to reduce your risk of heart disease. Here are some quick and easy ways that you can use the edible trimmings from fruits and vegetables: • Make your own vegetable stock by simmering peelings from spring onions, carrots, and parsnips; and add celery leaves/tips to add flavour to soups, stews, and ramens • Make cauliflower crisps by baking slices of cauliflower at 200 degrees Celsius for 2025minutes until they have crisped up. • Cut broccoli and cauliflower stems into batons and add to a stir fry to bulk out the vegetables; adding one of your five-a-day. • Don’t throw the seeds away from your pumpkins; remove any stringy bits from the seeds, wash, and bake at 180 degree Celsius for 10minutes for a tasty snack. • Make potato wedges with the skins on to add fibre to your homemade wedges, just give the potatoes a good wash first. • If you have any citrus fruit peelings left over from oranges, lemons, or limes; use these to make a favourable citrus marmalade; or add to water with ice cubes or crushed ice to make a refreshing glass of flavoured water.

nominate their community heroes and give them a chance to win £5,000 for themselves and £15,000 towards their chosen charity. Across Sheffield, and further afield, people have endured difficult times recently and many people within the community have stepped up and helped make their friends, neighbours or family’s lives a little easier. Yorkshire, a famously friendly region, has seen countless examples of people and communities working together to help make the best a bad situation. This great work, selfless dedication and community spirit can often go unsung so now is the perfect opportunity to take a moment to thank and celebrate these local heroes. 22 deserving community heroes from across Yorkshire will have the opportunity to win £5,000 cash for themselves and £15,000 for their chosen charity or cause. Each nominee will be assigned a runner in the Sky Bet Ebor Handicap race on Saturday 21st August, with the winning horse ensuring their hero takes home the prize. All of the nominated heroes will be invited to attend the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival on 21st August and enjoy a well-deserved day out at one of the country’s most prestigious racecourses and cheer on their assigned runner. If you know of somebody who has gone above and beyond for their community during the pandemic, this is your opportunity to thank them for everything they have done for other people. To nominate your chosen hero, visit www.yorkshire.com/ebor-community-hero. James Brennan, Head of Marketing at York Racecourse commented: “The Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival is such a special event and the perfect opportunity to celebrate community heroes. We know there are so many incredible people across the Yorkshire region who deserve to have their great work over the past year or so, highlighted and celebrated.” James Mason, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire said: “We know we have a difficult task ahead shortlisting the hero stories from within our community, but what a fantastic opportunity to not only be personally rewarded, but to make a real difference to a charity of choice.”

local leaders welcome forgemasters announcement News that the Ministry of Defence plans to take over Sheffield Forgemasters steel plant has been welcomed by South Yorkshire leaders as a recognition of the importance of the steel industry to the UK’s economy, and the value of government taking an active role to secure its future. Sheffield Forgemasters is one of the UK’s oldest steel plants and the Ministry of Defence has announced plans to acquire the company and invest £400m over the next ten years. Responding to the announcement, the South Yorkshire Mayor Dan Jarvis said, “I welcome this move both as a recognition of the importance of steel to our economy, regionally and nationally, and its importance for UK defence. Steel is synonymous with Sheffield and South Yorkshire and I have repeatedly raised the issue of securing the industry’s future with Government. While today’s announcement is most welcome, ministers also need to attend to the future of two of our other steel plants which hang in the balance, as a result of the crisis at Liberty Steel. The facilities at Stocksbridge and Rotherham have enormous potential, and I will continue to fight for the South Yorkshire steel industry and work to protect all the jobs and businesses they support. I’ll be meeting the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in the near future to discuss.”

Sheffield City Council leader, Cllr Terry Fox said, “It’s without doubt a positive move for Sheffield Forgemasters and for the city. Sheffield Forgemasters is a massive player in this industry and it’s right that the Government is recognising its importance nationally and the need for significant investment. We’ve got world-leading expertise right here in Sheffield – we’ve got steel running through our veins. This needs to be the first step of many though, we can’t forget the challenge Liberty Steel is going through right on our doorstep. We’ve already called on the Government to take action and we need clarity now on how they will put Sheffield first.” Chairman of South Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership James Muir said, “This is fantastic news and testament to the unique manufacturing capabilities of Sheffield Forgemasters, the skills of the workforce and the quality of the management team, led by Chief Executive David Bond. We’re working with a pipeline of high-growth, high-value and investment-ready businesses in the region. This investment shows that public intervention done right can unlock jobs, growth and innovation. That’s our mission here in South Yorkshire.”

Better job prospects, accessible housing, and easier commuting are set to become reality for millions of disabled people through actions set out in the UK government’s National Disability Strategy, launched today. The strategy sets out 100 immediate commitments alongside an ambitious agenda for future reform. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “Just as our talented Paralympians are set to take the stage in Tokyo next month, at home we are harnessing that same ambition and spirit, to build a better and fairer life for all disabled people living in the UK. Our new National Disability Strategy is a clear plan – from giving disabled people the best start in school to unlocking equal job opportunities, this strategy sets us on a path to improve their everyday lives.” Secretary of State Thérèse Coffey said: “The result of an unprecedented endeavour across government, this national strategy will help level up opportunity and improve the everyday experience of disabled people, whether that is at home; travelling on public transport; using the local high street or going online; enjoying culture, the arts or the great outdoors; and exercising civic roles like jury service and voting. It sets out the practical actions we will take now, alongside clear accountability for delivering them, as well as renewing our ambition to do even more as we build back fairer.” The strategy is focused on improving inclusion in the work place and tackling the disability employment gap - currently at 28.6% in the UK. It involves: • Consulting on introducing workforce reporting on the number of disabled people, for businesses with more than 250 staff – a move designed to improve inclusive practice across the UK’s biggest employers, and builds on existing gender reporting requirements. • Increasing the number of disabled people employed by MI5, MI6, GCHQ, the Reservists and the civilian military by 2030. MI6 has set an interim target of 9% by 2025. • Launching a new online advice hub available to both disabled people and employers which provides information and advice on disability discrimination in the workplace, flexible working and rights and obligations around reasonable adjustments. For the first time, the one stop shop will make it easier for disabled people to navigate the workplace. • Piloting an Access to Work Adjustments Passport to help smooth the transition into employment and support people changing jobs. Pilots will be taking place this year focussing on young people

leaving education and veterans leaving the armed forces. The Adjustments Passport will capture the in-work support needs of the individual and empower them to have confident discussions about adjustments with employers. It will also set an expectation with the employer that specialist aids and appliances move when their employee progresses in work or moves post. The UK Government’s National Disability Strategy was formulated with the input of more than 14,000 disabled people as part of the UK Disability Survey, in one of the largest exercises of its kind. The DWP is now also urging disabled people across Britain to have their say in shaping the future of the benefits system following the launch of its Health and Disability Green Paper. This builds on the recent announcement that people entering the final year of their life will have fast-track access to the benefits system. The 6-month rule for people nearing the end of their lives claiming benefits will be replaced with a new 12-month, end of life approach, mirroring the current definition of end of life used across the NHS. The Green Paper will pave the way for a fairer future of the benefits system to better meet the needs of disabled people and those with health conditions, and is set to be informed by a series of virtual and face-toface events. It includes changes which could: • Enable independent living and strengthening the role of advocacy so people who need extra help to navigate the benefits system get the right level of support and information first time. • Review how assessments are carried out including embedding telephone and video assessments and looking at how reassessments work including testing a new Severe Disability Group (SDG) for people with severe and life-long conditions that will not improve. This could see those who meet the criteria experiencing a more simplified application process, without the need for an assessment to receive financial support. • Improve support for disabled people to help them start, stay and succeed in work through the Work and Health Programme, Access to Work and on personalising employment support, recognising that one size does not fit all. The consultation survey is available in a range of accessible versions online, with further details set out on Gov.uk.

Thor are back and preparing to Rock the rocks!!! It’s been a heartbreaking year for the live entertainment industry due to the pandemic. However, with the vaccine programme bringing new hope, live music is beginning to emerge from the doldrums like Lazarus from the tomb. And no band more so than Sheffield’s own venue filler, Thor-Gods Of Rock, complete with a fresh new line up and new show. They recently played their comeback show, complete with a new line up, at Crookes Club in Sheffield to a restricted, yet sell out crowd, then travelled to Greasbrough in Rotherham, before the big, lifting of restrictions, performance at Sheffield’s Southey Social club and are counting down the days to one of their biggest shows of the year….The Devils Arse Cave in Derbyshires beautiful village of Castleton. “We can’t wait!” explained lead singer, and Thor lookalike, Lee Dodge. “The pandemic has stolen so much from the live entertainment industry. Our last, full crowd, show was February 2020. So playing the first show with an audience was quite nerve wracking and the show at Southey [Southey Social club] with no restrictions was an incredible mix of emotions, excitement, nervous, all of the ‘what if ’s’ going around your head. To play somewhere that’s totally unique like The Devils Arse again is a really exciting prospect.” Thor played a show at the Castleton visitor attraction in August 2018, dubbed “The Rave In The Cave” or “rock the rocks”, and were due to play there again

in 2020 but were thwarted by lockdown restrictions making it financially unviable for the venue. However with restrictions lifted on the 19th July, the show on Saturday 7th August will go ahead as planned, and with so many people missing live music over the course of the pandemic, tickets are selling quickly. But what makes this show different to any other? Guitarist, John Hardman explains. “We play some lovely working men’s clubs, some really nice places. But this is an arena forged by Mother Nature herself! The acoustics are amazing, the entrance is spectacular as you walk up to it. It’s just a beautiful setting for a rock show.” Phil Boyd, bassist, added “it’s going to be a special night for a lot of people. Live music is a massive part of so many peoples lives, and to see it in a setting like this is getting people really excited, none more so than myself. Lee and John played here a couple of years ago, just before I joined the band, so I’m really looking forward to it. And Spencer (Spencer Roe, keyboard and guitar) and Chris (Christian Hayes, Drums.) have only recently joined us so it’s a great gig to have as one of their first.” So, how did the first show after lockdown go for the “Rock Down After Lockdown” singers go? “It was amazing” explained Lee, “to play in front of a real crowd again was amazing. It was Spencer’s first show with us, the lads have all put in a real shift in the rehearsal room, we’ve put new songs in, got a big new

stage show, even our lighting guy (Ross Dodge, Lee’s younger brother) has been working hard to be ready. There was the odd hiccup, but you expect that after 16 months away from performing. But all in all, it was an amazing night.” Thor will take their new show, complete with arena style light show, costume changes, scintillating renditions of hits from some of the world biggest rock bands and even pyrotechnics, to “Rock The Rocks” and “Rave In The Cave” at The Devils Arse in Castleton, Derbyshire, on Saturday 7th August.

Tickets are available exclusively via the Peak Cavern website at www.peakcavern.co.uk/Thor-gods-of-rockSaturday-7th-august/ but are selling fast! Don’t miss out on seeing this one of a kind show at this one of a kind venue! Whosoever holds these tickets, if they be so worthy, shall experience the power of Thor! To find out more about Thor-Gods Of Rock, simply head over to the bands face book page, www. Facebook.con/thorrocksheffield and get all the information you need about upcoming shows.

MOORE’S POST-Terriers talking points BLADES HIT FOUR IN Darren Moore covered a number of subjects following the Owls’ penalty shootout defeat to Huddersfield in the first round of the Carabao Cup. On the Huddersfield game… I thought it was a high quality game, very competitive and exactly what we needed. When Carlos and I decided to play the game today, we thought it would be the

right time and I think everyone could see that today. I’m splitting hairs with the performance because it was a very even game, both sides had chances and I thought one goal might take it. Obviously we want to win every game we play but penalties are penalties and they can go either way. We’re out of the competition and that’s disappointing but we can take a lot of good

things from this game.

On Charlton next weekend… We are as ready as we can be for the start of the league season and personally speaking, I cannot wait. We will have a good week of training and we will travel down to London knowing we have had a really positive build. It was strange because we were going to play Huddersfield in preseason and then we were drawn together in the cup so we agreed to play it today was the best thing to do. On injuries… I will know more about Josh Windass in the week hopefully when he’s seen the specialist so I will hopefully have more information then.

With Mide today, it looks like a tightening of the muscle and he wanted to carry on but for me if it’s 50/50 then I am not taking any chances. Mide felt a little bit of muscle tightening so I took the decision to bring him off. Same with Baz really, a little bit of tightening of the muscle but he’s okay, he should be fine, we will see over the next 24 hours how he is. He showed today what a wonderful player and leader he is, he played a captain’s role, he’s a very important player for us. On new arrivals… I am hopeful of something before the Charlton game and we are working extremely hard on that. The hardest part is getting something over the line and for me, until that paperwork

is signed, it’s not done. We’ve done some great business so far and while that window is open we will try our level best to add to the squad.

On the fans’ return… It was wonderful to see and the atmosphere they created was amazing. They have been without their football for over 16 months and I’m delighted for them. I won’t say they could play a big part in our season, I say they will play a big part in our season. We know the stories about the 12th man but it’s so true at this football club. You know, just before the game when they singing Hi-Ho Silver Lining, if that’s an example of the advantage we can have and what they give us, I can’t wait for more.

Owls sign international forward Corbeanu Darren Moore has bolstered his attacking options with the capture of Canadian international forward Theo Corbeanu. The 19-year-old joins Wednesday on a seasonlong loan from Premier League side Wolves. Corbeanu earned his stripes in his native Canada, representing Mount Hamilton, Hamilton Sparta and Saltfleet before moving to Givona academy and then Toronto FC. In 2018 he arrived on

these shores for trials, initially for Leicester, but Wolves swooped and signed the teenager on a youth contract. After scoring on his debut for the Under16s, Corbeanu motored to the Under-23s and impressed, netting four goals in nine games to earn his first professional contract. He soon became a regular in Wolves’ matchday squad, debuting in the Premier League at Tottenham last season.

Bramall Lane kiosks go cashless Starting with Saturday's Sky Bet Championship opener against Birmingham City, food and beverage kiosks on all concourses at Bramall Lane will be operating with cashless payments only, with the focus on reducing contact and further improving service speed. Returning fans can also look forward to enjoying an increased selection of alcoholic drinks, with all draft products to be served in reusable plastic cups. The club is delighted to now be able to serve Amstel, John Smiths and Inches Cider. Meanwhile, Beavertown Neck Oil IPA and Birra Moretti will also be available in selected locations. Once supporters have enjoyed and finished their drink, fans are asked to simply place their cup in

Corbeanu has pedigree on the international stage too, earning a call-up from Canada in March for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. He took his bow from the bench against Bermuda and promptly found the net within four minutes in a 5-1 win. The young striker was named in the Canada squad for the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer and was on target against Martinique as the team reached the semi finals.

Corbeanu arrives at Hillsborough ahead of our first league game of the new season at

the collection tubes which will be located around concourse areas, enabling these to be hygienically washed and prepared for reuse. For those who prefer food rather than drink, our famous and hugely popular Henderson's sausage roll returns to the menu, alongside our selection of handmade pies. Supporters will be able to pay quickly and contact free using all major credit and debit cards, alongside Apple and Google pay.

The Blades pre-season preparations took another positive step forward on Wednesday evening. Over 3,000 Blades witnessed a four-star showing following a short journey down the M18, as Lys Mousset bagged a brace and Luke Freeman scored from off the bench after Oli Burke had opened the scoring. It was a strong starting XI named by Jokanović for the South Yorkshire derby, with Ramsdale, Fleck, Berge, Egan and Burke all featuring from the off. There was a lengthy stoppage inside 40 seconds following a clash of heads involving Norwood and a Rovers trialist. The former Northern Ireland was fit to resume, whilst the home player was replaced by another trialist. Following the enforced delay, the Blades, predominantly through Norwood enjoyed the majority of possession, but from a promising position Baldock’s cross didn’t fall kindly. At the other end, Rowe got in behind Baldock but his volley across the area was easily dealt with by Robinson. The first shot on target came from the hosts, but Ramsdale comfortably

gathered Hiwula’s effort. But on 24 minutes, United gleefully accepted a massive gift from Jones to deservedly take the lead, as BURKE slotted home into an empty net having anticipated a pass out from the Rovers goalkeeper. The goal added a further spring into the already confident step of the Blades and on 35 minutes, the lead was doubled as MOUSSET slammed home from close-range after a marauding run to the byline by the impressive Berge. As half-time approached, it was the Blades hunting a third, but Jones was quickly off his line to claim the loose ball as Fleck readied himself to pounce after more good work down the right by Burke and Mousset. And before the interval, United made it three. Fleck broke the lines in midfield and picked out the run of MOUSSET, he timed his run perfectly and slotted past the onrushing Jones. Jokanović made three changes at the interval, with Foderingham, Basham and Brewster all entering the fray. The second period saw United continue to dictate the pace of the game and from

Norwood’s right-wing corner Robinson rose highest in a crowded penalty area, but his powerful header cannoned off the crossbar with Jones soundly beaten. Foderingham’s first action saw him comfortably deny Smith, but it Burke at the other end who had a clear sight of goal, only to blaze over after Brewster and Baldock had combined to create the chance. A flurry of substitutions, eight to be exact were made with 23 minutes remaining, as several youngsters were given a chance to impress with Basham taking the captain’s armband. The number of changes didn’t disrupt the Blades rhythm and from Brunt’s deep corner Lopata headed acLopata headed across goal, but Brewster couldn’t direct his attempt on target. On 82 minutes, United scored a fourth as Bogle claimed the assist, crossing for FREEMAN who headed home under pressure from the retreating Smith. Slater took aim from distance as Doncaster backed off, but the substitute goalkeeper was equal to the effort from 30 yards and that was the last action of note.

YOUNG BLADES DEFENDER MAKES SWITCH

Defender Sam Graham has joined League Two side Rochdale. The 20-year-old, who played an instrumental part in United's U23s title winning success last term, moves to Spotland on a free transfer, although the Blades have added a number of potential add ons to the deal. The Sheffield-born centre half will now be looking to establish himself in the EFL following previous loan stints with Halifax, Oldham, Central Coast Mariners and most recently Notts County.

Mia Enderby signs Sheffield United Women are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young forward Mia Enderby from Leeds United’s Regional Talent Centre. The 16-year-old has also been involved with the England youth teams and can play all across the front line, either on the left wing, right wing or through the middle. A quick turn of pace and close control, Enderby ended last season in good form for Leeds United’s RTC and has impressed since training with Neil Redfearn’s first team, leading to her involvement in several first team friendlies so far in pre-season. Enderby, who only turned 16 in May, scored eight goals in as many games for Leeds towards the end of last season and the teenager is delighted to be making the step up. “I’m really excited and I’m really honoured to be representing such a big club in the FA Women’s Championship. I’m so young so it’s a massive change for me but all the players and all the coaches have been so welcoming, my transition has been really good.” Discussing the latest exciting young addition to the squad, head coach Redfearn added, “She’s an outstanding find. Rich Meek and Shaun Hird have done great to get her over the line. She’s been in the England set up, she’s an unbelievable talent. “I’ve worked with players in the men’s and women’s game through youth academies who have done well and I look at Mia and she’s got something I don’t see much of at that age; her game understanding is unbelievable.”

pre-season outing Richie Wellens was pleased as his team finished preseason with a victory over Sky Bet League Two side Harrogate Town on Sunday. Goals from Kyle Knoyle, a trialist and Aidan Barlow were enough for Rovers to claim the win despite a late onslaught from the home side. “I thought it was a good game. It’s more realistic in terms of what we’ll face in our league games,” said Wellens. “We had to defend a lot of set-plays and high balls and we’re going to face a lot of teams this year who play that way. “Our defenders had to head the ball a lot because Harrogate are a team who are very effective in getting the ball forward and they’ve got powerful runners. “They’re an established team so it was a good test for us.”

Wellens saw moments of quality in the game, but says there is still plenty to build on for his newly assembled side ahead of the season opener next Saturday. “At times it wasn’t great but Harrogate don’t give you a moment’s peace. They’re an honest side and they’re always pressing and always on you,” he added. “We want to work hard to win the ball back but then we have to slow down and be composed when we have it and there were times on Sunday when we were still stuck in fifth gear. When we got it right – particularly in the first 20 minutes of the second half – I thought we looked really good. “After 65 minutes I was really happy but then we conceded a sloppy goal and made things hard for ourselves.”

Get your and a free ticket for THE MILLERS league opener Rotherham United’s Community Sports Trust are offering a free ticket to our Sky Bet League One opener against Plymouth Argyle to supporters who join them in the GoalZone this Saturday to receive their Covid-19 vaccination. The Millers’ community wing have enlisted the help of the same local NHS group who were recently on hand to administer the vaccine to members of our first team players and staff recently, with Andrea Kitchen and her team set to base themselves in the club’s GoalZone ahead of the game against Argyle on Saturday 7th August. They will be offering both first and second doses of the Pfizer and Astra Zeneca vaccines, with everyone who chooses to visit us for theirs receiving a free ticket to the match. It is hoped that by incentivising supporters to come and get their vaccine here at AESSEAL New York Stadium, we are able to continue to play our part in the battle to prevent the continued spread of the

coronavirus and return to life ‘as we knew it’ before the pandemic. There is no need to book, supporters wishing to get their jab – and subsequent free ticket – simply need to turn up at the GoalZone with some form of identification on the day. Please note that anyone wishing to take the vaccine MUST be aged 18 years over. Andrea and her team will be based in the GoalZone from 11am on the morning of the fixture and will be administering the vaccines right up until kick off. Rotherham United’s Head of Community Jamie Noble reaffirmed the club’s stance on continuing to try and keep people safe, taking the time to thank Andrea and her committed team for once again offering to help. “We know that life has started to return to something a bit more like ‘normal’ but as a club we are keen to remain vigilant and ensure that everybody can enjoy football here at AESSEAL New York Stadium in the safest possible environment,” he told www.themillers. co.uk. “We respect that getting the vaccine is a personal choice and we won’t ever put pressure on any of our supporters to get it if they don’t want it, but at the same time, if a ticket to the first home game of the season makes it more convenient for somebody to get it, then great.”

have at least two new faces in the building which will be great. “We’ll sit down and have a chat about what we want to try and achieve this year and up to this week, I don’t think we’ve had that opportunity.”

“It has been a difficult pre-season but I think it has for a lot of teams. Recruitment has been really tough this time. “We’ve lost a lot of players and at this moment in time we haven’t signed a lot. “We’ve tried to play a system that gets our best players in the team and one that gets us two up front. At the moment, a 3-5-2 has been working really well. “Ironically, we’ve reduced training a little bit in preseason and we haven’t been as brutal with them. “We don’t want injuries but unfortunately, we’ve still got them. “We sit down with the lads on Monday and we should
