COMMITTEE BEGINS CHIEF EXEC. INVESTIGATION A cross-party committee has been established following Kate Josephs’ statement about a gathering that happened in her former role at the Government’s Covid-19 Taskforce. The committee began its work last week and is chaired by Cllr Julie Grocutt, with the following members: Cllr Penny Baker, Cllr Douglas Johnson, Cllr Shaffaq Mohammed and Cllr Sioned-Mair Richards. It is proposed that the committee will meet again next week. Cllr Terry Fox, Leader of Sheffield City Council, said:

“I completely understand the strength of feeling that has been expressed in the city since Kate’s statement and apology on January 14. Over the last few days I have been taking advice, and we have now set up a politically proportionate cross-party committee to establish the facts of what has happened. While we cannot yet know how long it will take, we expect this to move at pace. I will be handing the process over to committee chair Cllr Julie Grocutt and the other members of the panel, and we now need to let them carry out this work. I

want to reassure everyone that business continues as usual for the council, and we remain focused on delivering for Sheffield.” This week sees a change to guidleines for businesses and individuals. In response to the changes to Covid-19 guidance coming into effect this week, Mayor Dan Jarvis said: “From this week Government will remove all Plan B restrictions, including the legal requirement to wear a face covering on bus, tram, and train. “While COVID cases are declining, they remain very high in our region at 1,030 per 100,000. Hospital

admissions are around 21 per day, and there are currently 603 Covid-19 patients occupying hospital beds in South Yorkshire. Long Covid remains a real, but poorly understood concern, and the NHS is under greater pressure than ever. “We are on a positive trajectory, and it is right that policy should reflect that. But there is a real question whether the lifting of some of these restrictions – in particular the mask mandate, which imposes a relatively minor burden on individuals and the economy – reflects the reality of the continuing

public health risk. Other areas which are easing restrictions, including every other UK nation, have kept mask mandates in place. “We will continue a cautious approach on our public transport network across South Yorkshire. While the government has removed the formal requirement to wear a face covering, in order to protect the NHS and everyone who relies on our public transport network we strongly encourage their continued use on busses, in our interchanges, and indeed any confined public space.”

SKIPTON CAMPSITE VOTED CLUB’S BEST CERTIFICATED SITE

Members of The Camping and Caravanning Club have voted Riverside Caravan Site near Skipton in North Yorkshire the best Certificated Site for 2021. There are over 1,300 Certificated Sites across the UK, which are operated exclusively for Club members. They are small, privately run campsites that accommodate up to five caravans or motorhomes and up to ten tents at any one time. Throughout last year, Club members nominated their favourite Certificated Site in the Club’s Best CS competition. Votes ran across five categories – Best Friendly Club Welcome, Best Hideaway, Best New Site, Best Facilities, and Best CS for Families. Riverside gained the most nominations in the Best Friendly Club welcome and Best CS for Families categories and has been crowned overall winner for 2021. The campsite, which husband and wife owners Alison and James Naylor set up in 2008 on an area of land that had previously been used for dairy farming, is situated in an idyllic location with 360-degree views. It is a family-friendly site with hardstanding and electric pitches. Alison and James are beef and sheep farmers, and campers enjoy seeing the animals on site, especially youngsters. Alison said: “We used to be caravanners ourselves and then we thought what else can we do to earn a bit more money. We have plenty of land here so thought, yes, let’s set up a campsite! We knew what to expect from camping ourselves having gone caravanning in the past, and the Club was very helpful. “We have 360-degree views here with hills surrounding us. There are two local pubs plus a shop within walking distance and train station with links to Leeds and Skipton. There’s a big park in the village plus we have an under eight play area on site.” All of the pitches on site have lovely views towards

the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a short distance away. Prices at the Club’s network of Certificated Sites start from about £10 per night and range from campsites offering basic facilities such as waste, water and drainage facilities only, through to full facility campsites with hardstanding pitches and electric hook-ups, modern facilities and shower blocks. Darren Whittington, the Club’s Director of Operations, said: “Since their first season Alison and James have worked so hard to develop Riverside and it is a worthy winner of this year’s Best CS competition. “The site has everything you might need for a family camping holiday and the Club has been happy to see how it has developed over the years.” For more information on Riverside Certificated Site visit www.campingandcaravanningclub. co.uk/campsites/uk/north-yorkshire/nr-skipton/ riversidecaravansite

SHED SEVEN KICK OFF RACECOURSE’S LIVE MUSIC SEASON The first live music event of summer 2022 at Doncaster Racecourse, the unique gig will invite audiences to enjoy an entire day of racing at one of the UK’s most prestigious arenas, with the added bonus of a full Shed Seven set late into the evening. Rising to fame as one of the leading lights of the Britpop scene, some 30 years since their formation in York in 1990, Shed Seven have established themselves as one of the nation’s favourite alternative rock bands. Turning heads with the release of their classic debut album ‘Change Giver’ in 1994, the Rick Witter five-piece unfurled

a flurry of smash hits that would come to define the period and amassed an impressive fifteen Top 40 singles and four Top 20 albums over the next 5 years. After an extended hiatus in 2003, the Sheds surprised and delighted fans and critics alike as they returned with their first new studio album for 16 years: ‘Instant Pleasures’. Demonstrative of a band back at the top of their game and rippling with ideas once more, ‘Instant Pleasures’ delivered exactly what it said on the tin. Rightfully rewarded with a Top 10 UK chart position, rave reviews and national radio playlistings, the band are

more in-demand than ever. Thrilling audiences nationwide on their packed-out ‘Shedcember’ tour of 2021 (an extensive tour of the UK’s most capacious venues), the band are showing no signs of slowing the pace any time soon. The Sheds now look-on to their huge Doncaster Racecourse performance in Summer 2022. With anthemic hits spanning three decades and energy in spades, few bands could be better suited to long summer evening show to a Yorkshire county crowd than Shed Seven. Recently celebrating the 25th anniversary of their

first album release, expect a mix of Sheds classics including ‘She Left Me On Friday’, ‘Dolphin’, ‘Disco Down’, ‘High Hopes’, ‘Where Have You Been Tonight?’ and more, plus choice cuts from recent album ‘Instant Pleasures’, including fan favourites ‘Room In My House’ and ‘Better Days’.

Cathedral Christmas Tree barn owls find Festival Raises More Than £1,300 new home for Local Good Causes Community spirit came to the fore this Christmas with visitors to Sheffield Cathedral’s annual Christmas Tree Festival helping to raise more than £1,300 for local good causes in and around Sheffield. It was the second time the cathedral had hosted the festival, but the first-time visitors had been able to enjoy it in person after the lockdown the previous year. “Having to water and turn the lights on and off on more than 30 christmas trees every day was a challenge for the team” admitted Ben Rossi, Development Manager at Sheffield Cathedral, “But it was well worth it. To see so many people enjoy the festival was really satisfying. Nearly 14,000 people visited the cathedral during December to see the Christmas trees, watch our Christmas lightshow and attend carol services and concerts etc. We believe the lightshow at the cathedral and the Christmas Tree Festival has become one of Sheffield’s Christmas traditions which families look forward to to start their own Christmas celebrations.” Every tree was sponsored by a charity / not for profit organisation or a local business. Visitors to the festival were asked to vote for their favourite tree with a cash prize of £250 available in each category. The winner of the favourite business tree was Wosskow Brown Solicitors who are donating their award to Sheffield Churches Council for Community Care. James Cooper of Wosskow Brown said, “We feel very privileged to have been involved in Sheffield Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival. It was such a great turnout with so many incredible trees and we feel proud to be a part of such a good cause. Thank you so much to everybody that voted for our tree, we really did spend a lot of time designing it so it’s nice to see people appreciating the final product. In terms of the prize, we are going to donate it all to SCCCC who are deserving of every donation they receive.

SCCCC are a local charity who mostly work to help older people in their own homes as well as supporting them if they are admitted to or discharged from hospital or living in a residential home. We look forward to taking part and seeing you all again next year.” The favourite charity tree was decorated by the Sheffield Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. On being voted as one of the most popular trees Beth Hobbs commented: “We’re thrilled to be the winners of the Best Decorated Christmas Tree for the second year running! Thank you to all who voted and donated to us. We’re blown away by your support. All the money raised will go towards supporting everyone in our local community who lives with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. Thank you also to Sheffield Cathedral for organising this wonderful event. We can’t wait for next year.” The festival was sponsored by etiCloud and Utilita Energy. Commenting on the event Simon Tomlinson, director at etiCloud, said: “The team at etiCloud is very proud to have once again supported the cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival. Raising money for local causes and bringing people together to enjoy the festive spirit is something we’d like to be part of for many years to come.” This sentiment was endorsed by Callum Slavin, Retail Manager for Utilita Energy Sheffield: “It was a great opportunity to be able to sponsor the event and knowing we have helped raise a great amount of funds for several worthwhile causes is very satisfying. We hope to be involved in many more similar events at the Cathedral in the future.”

On a crisp sunny day just before Christmas, the Sheffield Lakeland team from Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, put up their first new barn owl box. A large oak tree in the Bradfield area, close to where barn owls have recently been seen, was carefully chosen for the location of nest box. It was attached around 5m up the tree, looking out across open countryside to give it the best chance of being seen by a flying barn owl looking for a place to nest. With more boxes planned to be put up before spring, the team and their volunteers will have a busy winter. This is just one of the projects being delivered by the Sheffield Lakeland Landscape Project, supported by the players of the National Lottery. The locations for each new box have been carefully selected by volunteers, supported by our Nature Recovery Officer, Nicki Dyas. Nicki said “Last autumn our volunteers helped us conduct a barn owl habitat survey of the Sheffield Lakeland area, allowing us to map areas of suitable habitat and pin-point suitable trees for nest boxes. Putting up new nest boxes is just one part of our Supporting Species project in the Lakeland area”. The nest boxes for our project are being made by one of our volunteers, Philip. The boxes are specifically designed to attract barn owls that in the past would have nested in holes in trees or old barns. With a sharp decline in the number of mature trees with holes and accessible barns, putting up barn owl nest boxes can help to support local barn owl populations. They are deep enough so that the owlets can’t fall out, and include features such as a platform for the young owls to hop onto whilst stretching their wings. There is also a hatch at the front so that the box can be cleaned out after the nesting season, sprucing up the accommodation ready to welcome the next barn owl family the following year. The Sheffield Lakeland team have been working closely with landowners and local groups in the Sheffield Lakeland area to

maintain and increase the amount of ideal barn owl habitat and add to the number of possible nesting sites by getting permission to install new nest boxes. But we would love to hear from any other land/property owners within the Lakeland area who’d like to work with us and may have a suitable location for a barn owl box. Barn owls are one of 5 species of owl found in Britain and can be seen all year round. Numbers of barn owls crashed in the mid-20th century, due to pesticide use, and although they’re now thought to be increasing, there may only be around 4,000 breeding pairs within the U.K., according to the RSPB. Barn owls have specially adapted feathers which enable them to fly silently whilst hunting. This gives them an advantage over their prey but comes at the cost of not being very waterproof. This makes it difficult for them to fly in wet weather, so in a wet spring they may struggle to be able to feed their young. In the coming 6-8 weeks we will be putting up several more barn owl nest boxes. If you are interested in joining us and meeting our staff and volunteers then please get in touch. Over 60? Brighter future for local cultural and creative industries Cultural and creative industries in South Yorkshire are set to receive £1 million central government funding to support their work in the region. The funding is in recognition of the value the cultural industry has to the local economy and the key role the sector will play in recovery and renewal, by creating jobs, enriching the lives of local people and reinforcing South Yorkshire’s reputation as a tourism destination. £280,000 has been allocated to Sheffield, with £120,000 added to the Freelancer Fund Round 2, initiated by the Sheffield Culture Consortium in the Spring and administered at no cost by Sheffield

Museums and Site Gallery. 75 creatives will be supported directly along with 5 organisations working on collaborative projects. The remaining £160,000 has been divided equally between the four artforms of film, performing arts, live music and writing. The funds will be given to local organisations that aim to bolster Sheffield’s cultural and creative sector through their strong networks and commitment to reaching a wide range of creative businesses and audiences: Film – Sensoria: an open call of small grants will be announced for film productions and events. The grants will help to sustain and

increase film screenings and diverse exhibition projects in the city; stimulate new film/video production projects by local filmmakers and companies; enable completion of new film/ video projects; support new film project releases including assistance with marketing and audience development or to support film release strategies. The project will include an independent assessment panel.

Performing Arts – Theatre Deli: £20,000 will be made available in small grants of up to £4,000 to Sheffieldbased performance companies and artists hit hard by lockdown and coronavirus-related

restrictions, as well as local businesses that support them. Theatre Deli will directly commission Sheffieldbased performance companies and artists to develop and perform new and existing work for its 2022 artistic and community outreach programmes.

Independent writing and publishing – Off the Shelf Festival of Words: Through a steering group including And Other Stories and The Poetry Business, the fund will support writers and poets who are seeking to develop their creative practice, to support diverse artists in their development.

Live music – The Leadmill: The project will involve multiple grassroots, independent music venues to programme a series of free and diverse music trails for the public. 19 venues will be part of ‘Sheffield Winter Music Trails’, a replica of the hugely popular ‘Sheffield Music Trails’ that were carried out in the Summer of 2021. This funding, provided through South Yorkshire Mayor, Dan Jarvis, will be independently evaluated, to demonstrate the value of economic recovery funding to creative and cultural organisations. Councillor Mazher Iqbal, Sheffield City Council’s Executive Member for City Futures: Development,

Culture and Regeneration, said: “I welcome this opportunity both to support creative freelancers in Sheffield who underpin the sector, and to build on some of the many strengths of the city’s cultural and creative industries – music, film, performing arts and independent publishing. "We want Sheffield’s creative businesses and freelancers to recover and thrive after the difficulties brought about by Covid, and as the challenges continue, this much needed funding will support that recovery. Our diverse and eclectic sector make us proud of our city and have such an important role in our future."

South Yorkshire Mayor Dan Jarvis, said: “There is no doubt that South Yorkshire is home to a wealth of creative talent. The arts, culture and heritage sectors have been hit hard by the impact of the pandemic and investing in these areas is an essential part of their recovery and renewal. "If supported and nurtured, the Creative Industries can help drive growth in our region and realise untapped potential. Culture adds colour to people’s lives and I hope this funding will help make our region a great place to live, study, work, visit and invest in.” Research by the University of Sheffield has revealed that the sector in South

Yorkshire is one of the most affected by Covid-19 across the UK with an estimated sector output loss of 22 per cent - five per cent more than the UK average. This is thought to be because South Yorkshire has the highest share of jobs in the hardest hit sub sectors of arts, culture and heritage. Findings from the study captured the experiences of venues, freelance workers and audiences in Sheffield in particular throughout the pandemic. A major finding from the research revealed that lockdowns and restrictions have had a profound impact on the economic circumstances and wellbeing of freelance workers.

Follow Your Local Team Every Week In The Mercury BLADES FLATTEN HATTERS “We have to cut United produced a confident and assured display to comfortable beat ten-man Luton Town last Saturday afternoon. After a quiet first 45 minutes, United scored twice in the first six minutes of the second half to net a deserved home maximum, with Rhian Brewster bagging for the first time in front of the Kop, before Jack Robinson’s header made sure of the spoils as Reece Burke was dismissed shortly after the concession of the second goal. Boss Heckingbottom made one change for United’s first home game of 2022, with NorringtonDavies replacing the injured Stevens. Baldock, Fleck and McBurnie all returned to the matchday 18. United were the ones attempting to force the issue for much of the opening 25 minutes. Bogle saw an angled shot saved by Shea, before the Luton stopper

comfortably denied Brewster after he’d spun his marker. The former Liverpool marksman then took aim from distance, but his powerful dipping effort bounced wide of the near post. Luton’s first chance came on the half hour, but Foderingham was smartly down to deny Jerome at his near post from Kioso’s inviting low cross. As half time approached, United had a major scare at the Kop end. Lansbury’s free kick was into a good area, Jerome flicked on and Bradley headed home, but thankfully the assistant referee raised his flag for offside. The Blades pushed until the interval, but couldn’t fashion a clear-cut opening, despite Sharp turning Naismith and winning a corner before Brewster had a looping header claimed by Shea. If the first period had been something of a slow burner the start to the second period was anything but. United hit front on 48 minutes

as BREWSTER fired through the legs of Shea, after Bogle had recycled Burke’s poor headed clearance from Norrington-Davies cross from the left. And around three minutes later one became two as United took a firm grip of the contest. Norwood’s inviting free kick was inch perfect for the run of ROBINSON and he headed past the stranded Shea. Luton were shellshocked and two should have been three on the hour

as Ndiaye fired into the path of Brewster from a corner, but unlike ten minutes early the striker snatched at the effort and fired it wide. There was a sense of déjà vu from the Preston game moments later as Burke was red carded for a professional foul after Brewster had got the wrong side of him from a long clearance. But this time the Blades were in no mood to surrender the advantage and in truth easily saw off the Hatters with their

numerical disadvantage. Berge, McGoldrick and late on McBurnie were all introduced off the bench and possibly the winning margin could have been much greater. Ndiaye saw a shot saved, Norwood fired over, before Norrington-Davies had a couple of sights of goal. Three minutes of added time passed without any concern, as Heckingbottom made it two wins from two games at the helm at Bramall Lane.

Darren Moore says the Owls must cut out the mistakes that led to our 3-2 defeat to Oxford at the Kassam Stadium. Sublime strikes from Barry Bannan and Josh Windass were not enough to secure victory for Wednesday, with the U’s twice coming from behind to snatch three points. Moore said: “We came to take the game to them and the boys started excellent today.

Hunt ‘buzzing’ for latest challenge Having spent the first half of the season with Grimsby Town, Alex Hunt now looks forward to a new chapter after joining Oldham Athletic on loan until the end of 2021/22. The midfielder is enjoying

his most productive season to date, having made 18 first team appearances and scoring his maiden professional goal, and is looking to add to his experience by playing regular league football with the Latics.

The 21-year-old’s season began with Grimsby, a move that Hunt looks back on fondly as his first consistent foray into the men’s game. Hunt said: “I enjoyed it, playing against different types of opponents each

week and your body has to get used to playing Saturday/Tuesday. “There are milestones in your career, you want your first contract and your first start, then it’s your first goal, so to do that was a big moment

for me and my family. “The fans were second to none. They had a great turn out every week and I can’t thank them enough for getting behind us. “It’s made me become a better player and person.

The step between the Under-23s and first team football is massive, and it just shows the importance of going out and playing games on a regular basis.” Upon returning to Hillsborough at the start of January, Hunt signed a new contract with the Owls before heading back out on loan with League Two Oldham, making his debut on Saturday against Harrogate.

“We scored two wonderful goals, the quality of the strikes were excellent. “Off the ball, our work was good, I thought we used the ball well and controlled it well. “The thing I’m most bitterly disappointed with is that the three goals are avoidable. The concentration levels just weren’t there, they were poor goals to concede. “I’ve just said to the boys, you can’t come here and

give teams those goals, we’ve more or less given them three goals today. We have to cut them out from now on if we are to do anything in the league come the end of the season. “I was pleased with the energy today and the goals from us were excellent, I’m just disappointed it’s not led to three points and a good away day performance.”

He added: “Wednesday are my boyhood club and I always want to play here, that’s still my end goal. “When I came back from Grimsby I sat down with the manager and had a good chat with him. “He was really pleased with how I was progressing and wanted me to keep getting more game time and when a loan opportunity came in from League Two, the gaffer said it was a nobrainer. “It’s a step up and another chance for me to challenge myself. “I’m buzzing to be at Oldham, it’s a challenge

I’m looking forward to facing head on.” Despite spending most of the campaign away from Hillsborough, Hunt remains in the thoughts of Owls supporters as they track his progress from afar, something the youngster is very much aware of: “I can’t thank them enough for the support they have given me, even when out on loan, it’s nice to see they follow my progress. “They understand I’m a boyhood player and know that I give everything every time I put a Wednesday shirt on.”

Redfearn pleased with Blades response

I think our work-rate won us that one - Warne

United Women head coach Neil Redfearn was pleased with his side’s response as Bex Rayner’s 85th-minute equaliser sealed a well-earned point away at Durham. The Blades were looking to build on last week’s win against Coventry United and Rayner’s first goal of the season late on extended the team’s unbeaten run to four games. In a game of fine margins, Durham hit the woodwork twice and saw a goal disallowed, while United had four efforts blocked right in front of goal, two directly off the line from Courtney Sweetman-Kirk headers. The Blades fell behind after 25 minutes when Beth Hepple beat Fran Kitching from the penalty spot, but Redfearn was happy with how his side bounced back after several half-time changes. “I thought we started off well and passed the ball well in the opening 20 minutes,” said Redfearn. “They were Durham, they got up against us and made it difficult and when they scored I thought we lost our concentration a bit. I thought the penalty was soft, but we got in, made some substitutions and that gave us a bit of an edge. We looked more dangerous going forward with a bit more pace, we changed the shape, went to three at the back and then got the goal.” Despite creating several clear chances, when the goal did come there was certainly a stroke of good fortune about it for the Blades. After Maddy Cusack’s free-kick dropped at the edge of the box, Rayner connected cleanly with a volley which looped up off Durham’s Sarah Robson and found the back of the net. But in a league which has seen fine margins go against United this season, Redfearn said it doesn’t matter how the goals go in and praised Rayner’s overall contribution. “We got a deflection on it but Bex Rayner deserved that bit of luck because she was one of the standout players on the pitch again. “It doesn’t matter how they go in, this is a difficult place to come and we’ve taken four points off them this season. They do things properly here, they’re a good team, they compete and it’s a good point given we were behind with five minutes to go.” As it often is when Durham and United face off against each other, there were key battles all across the field and United often matched up to their opponents, even when youngsters Lucy Watson and Mia Enderby came on to face up against Lauren Briggs and Abby Holmes in the second half. With plenty of energy in the middle through Cusack and Kasia Lipka, Redfearn praised his team’s battling spirit to come away with the point. “The thing that pleased me is when the game got really competitive, the girls really took the bit between their teeth and went for it. “It’s a good point. We’re building a little bit of momentum against these teams now, Lee [Sanders] and the staff have done a great job with them. They have international players, players who could play in the league above, it was a good game played in the right spirit and I think we got what we deserved.” The result continues United’s unbeaten start to 2022 after a well-earned point at Charlton Athletic followed by last week’s win at Coventry United, with an FA Cup clash against FA Women’s Super League side West Ham United next on the agenda this coming Sunday back at the Technique Stadium. “We’re four unbeaten now. We’ve had a massive shift of players, I know I keep saying it, but it’s a fact. “The girls coming in have been tremendous. Georgia and Bradders at the back on Sunday were tremendous. Fran [Kitching] put her body on the line. I’m super proud again, if we’d lost 1-0 I’d have still been proud because they gave it everything.” Get your tickets for the Blades’ next home game against West Ham United in the FA Cup now on the SUFC website.

Paul Warne praised a battling performance following the win over Cheltenham Town... “It was hard-fought. I don’t want our fans turning up thinking ‘here we go, we’re going to win 5-0 today.’ Every game is an absolute battle. “I think the pitch has gone a bit. It’s winter football and the lads are sliding about all over the place. We don’t seem as concise as normal. But, we’ve managed to win a football game and I don’t think anyone will have left not thinking we were the better side. “With all the possession we had first-half, we didn’t create enough cutting edges. We took an extra touch before crossing it. “Smudge has done really good for the goal. At 1-0, it’s always a problem. “It’s a hard-fought win and it will count as much as a 4-1 will at the end of the season. In that respect, I’m pleased. “In fairness, I thought Woody was the outstanding player. He sums up what we’re trying to do here, pressing the goalkeeper at the end. He’s a massive driving force and all the players look up to him. “The work-rate of the lads is phenomenal and that’s why we all get on as a group and why we have won the game today.”

McSheffrey: I thought the lads were superb Gary McSheffrey spoke with the media following his side’s first away win of the season against MK Dons. A spirited team performance saw bodies-on-the-line defending which meant Joe Dodoo’s goal on the 41st minute was enough to claim a valuable three points. On the performance: “I thought the lads were superb, well organised and they deserved it. “It was heart in mouth a bit at the end. I think the lads were a bit nervous because we haven’t been in that position for a while but I thought we defended really well. “We were clearing things off the line, making last-ditch tackles and you’re going to have to do that when you come somewhere like this. “I’ve said to them: all you can do is control work ethic, and the good habits that we’re putting into our game. If you do that, the results will take care of themselves. “It was a different performance from us. We got our noses in front, put in some old school defending and worked our socks off.” On individual defensive performances including Ollie Younger’s debut: “My two centre backs: ones got a bandage around his head and the other’s got a cut on his face and I’m buzzing that we’ve got defenders in the team who really want to defend and win headers. “I thought Ollie Younger’s debut was superb. Kyle Knoyle had a great game and Joseph Olowu was his usual self at centre-back. Branden Horton got through the sticky periods of the game, dug in and didn’t go hiding. “We stood up as men and got a deserved win which I think has been building over the last few weeks.”
