HUGE COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS IN DONCASTER THIS WEEKEND For the first time they are turning on the lights in Doncaster on a Saturday and it’s all part of a daylong event that sees entertainment and fun across the entire town centre. The main stage will be in Sir Nigel Gresley Square, outside Cast and will feature the usual switch on activities hosted by Trax FM. The square will also have refreshments including free hot chestnuts and there will be a selection of food and drinks stalls and traditional chalets with attractions

including Brodsworth Hall and the Tourist Information Team with Doncaster related gifts on sale. You’ll be able to watch the stage whilst children have photos taken in the free Snow Globe and then enjoy the fun of the fairground rides gathered in the area around the stage. You’ll even be able to enjoy a glass of mulled wine to keep warm and get into the Christmas spirit. The stage line-up includes something for all the family from Mickey and Minnie’s Disney Christmas to a whole host of

Disney Princesses, culminating in a full Frozen set complete with snow! They have Donny the Dog and Panto Characters galore as well as characters in the square for your photos and meet and greet opportunities. There’ll be music too with Doncaster Council Choir as well as local performer Alexandra Parker violinist. Closing the show are Britain’s Got Talent finalists - Doncaster’s own Pensionalities. Treasure Hunt This year there are 12 locations across the town who taking part in a festive treasure hunt. Follow the map in the Christmas campaign brochure (copies available from the Tourist Information Centre) from the 18th to the 27th November and collect from each location your stamp. When your card is full hand in to the Tourist Information Centre and be in with a chance of winning

a Doncaster Golden Ticket! The ticket entitles children to free rides on all the town centre rides throughout December.

This year Doncaster Council is offering the following free parking offer: Colonnades car park - free parking from 1500 to 1800 from 1st December and up to Tuesday 2nd January 2018. Marshgate car parks - free parking from 1500 to 1800 from 1st December and up to Tuesday 2nd January 2018.
